thing is, violent crime in large American cities has been on the decline for quite a while now. these sort of images makes it seem like they are more dangerous than ever ... |

Regarding the black with a gun. He was stopped for a traffic matter, and became agitated, after telling the officers he had a weapon and had a CCL; whilst attempting to make the man comply he reached for the gun he carried and had concealed carry license for, one of the officers shot him.
He shouldn't have reached for his gun. |

he was reaching for his licence as per instructions from the officer.. why would he tell the cop he had a gun.. if he planned to use it> doesnt everyone have a GUN in America... its sort of compulsory isnt it?????????? >:( >:( >:( |
Title: Re: "I told him not to reach for it." Post by Fireball on Jul 8th, 2016 at 8:30am
They knew he had a CCL, he told them, but he became agitated when they were questioning him so they took him to the ground because they were aware he had a weapon, when he started to reach for the gun (on the ground with officers struggling to hold him down), they shot him.
What would you have done, waited for him to get his bloody gun out? |

how was he meant to show them his licence... why did they ask him for it if it meant him using his hands.. I dunno about you.. but thats the only way I would ever be able to show my licence..... by moving my hands to get it.. ::) ::)maybe black men should have it tattoo to their foreheads so they have no need to move when challenged... you seem to find this acceptable for a cop... >:( >:( |

Too early to know the facts of the incident. Everything is in the fog of hysteria.
I am living in the States. If I were to be pulled over I would keep my hands on the wheel, visible to the officer. When he asks for ID I would tell him I am going to pull it out of my pocket or wherever it is before I make a move. |

You should listen to the police and comply with what they ask.
Do people care about the Police killed on duty or do they only whinge about those who the police shoot? odmp.org/search/year |

Yes. And no. If they ask to see your ID you give it to them. If they ask you to roll down the window you do so. If they ask you to step out of the car, of course, you do. But if they start asking questions you are under NO obligation to answer them in the USA. They will ask them. "Where are you coming from?" "What were you doing there?" "Where are you going?" By asking questions they are building a case. |
Title: Re: "I told him not to reach for it." Post by Panther on Jul 8th, 2016 at 12:24pm Police, regardless of how popular they are ATM, are still human beings. They are still part of the community. When a police officer leaves for work (arguably the most dangerous job in America) he has all the intentions of coming home when his day is done. That said, any threat to him or her returning home safely has to be taken extremely seriously. Now, you & I weren't there.....we weren't in the officers mind to know exactly what he was thinking, how he made his split second decisions, but when all the dust settles in this matter, we should have a better understanding of what 'actually' transpired as opposed to agenda driven hysteria & emotion. Whether we like it or not is immaterial. BTW.......I suggest if you fear being hit by lightning, don't travel to America, because you are way more apt to be hit by a bolt of lightning, than a bullet, regardless of how the media attempts to convince you otherwise.....what they do is all aimed to gain viewership, gain readership, & advance their personal agenda(s).....not to accurately portray the facts of the incident(s). |

Gawd. Thank God I live in Australia. If I get pulled over here it's always for some breath test which is fine because I never drink much alcohol anyway. For whatever reason, I always greet these cops with a smile and a Gday. If any cop ever pulled a gun on me, I reckon I'd pass out and/or go into cardiac arrest. :-/ |

Well, I agree with him too.....I haven't always felt this way about Trump, but knowing all the alternatives, he isn't the best choice for America....he's the ONLY CHOICE for America. After seeing how Hillary has maneuvered her way out of indictment, & reading more & more about her history, there is no doubt whatsoever that that crusty tnuc would be the absolute worse thing to happen to America....hell, a 3rd Obama Presidency would be better, illegal as that would be, would be better than her placing her rank ass on the presidential seat in Americas Oval Office. |
