I suspect Obama would like nothing better, but he's not going to be in office long enough to pull off any of those grandiose plans. The moving van will arrive in January.

Why is it if you take a stand for something you are automatically against something else? If you support Black Lives matter then you are anti police. If you support the police then you must hate black people.

The treatment of black people by a number of police should be cause for concern in America. But even when there is video evidence critics bend over backwards to justify these deaths.

When a 12 year old boy playing with a toy gun in a park was killed within 2 seconds of police showing up city officials blamed the child for his death accusing him of "Failure to exercise due care to avoid injury."

It's his fault he was playing in the park. It's his fault he was killed in under 2 seconds by responding police.

It's his fault that the police officer who shot him quit his previous police job before being dismissed for deficiencies such as being emotionally unstable and unfit for duty, especially in handling firearms. only to be hired by a police department under federal investigation for allegations that officers use excessive force, including unreasonable deadly force.

And it's his fault that he was not seen as a child. Cleveland Police Patrolman’s Association president Steve Loomis said "He's menacing. He's 5ft 7, 191 pounds. He's not what you see in the video, he's a 12 year old in an adult body."

When things like this happen you can understand why people want to protest against police. Stories like this is almost a daily occurrence in America and the officer involved need to be investigated.

However these officers represent only a tiny fraction of the overall police force. The rest are honest police officers doing their best to serve their community. An oft time hard and thankless job but one they continue to do.

We do neither side any favours by failing to acknowledge both.

How you interact with the Police has everything to do with the outcome. Most Black Americans are raised to automatically fear certain things. Things like ghosts, dogs, the Police and Utility Service employees turning off their utilities for nonpayment. If you freak out or get mouthy and become animated with the Police you could frighten them and it will end badly.

I've been pulled over by Black Police Officers twice while armed and there was no problem. I came to a stop as soon as I was sure they were interested in me, I lowered my window, put my licenses and proof of insurance on the dash, shut off my engine, kept my hands in plain sight on the wheel and spoke clearly and calmly. One time was at night and I also turned on my dome light. One wrote me a citation for speeding and the other sent me on my way.

About the guns.....nothing to be done....the gun wasn't the culprit, the criminal using it was......he's been made dead.....justifiably.......The Second Amendment remains intact.

Call me a racist any day you wish, that name when used by you means nothing to me......but I believe, he, as well as the shooter, deserved to live......the cop because he was a good man & father.....the killer, so he could be punished at the hands of the community he took that good man from.

Unfortunately, when the killer left home, he left with design to kill cops......& the cop had being home with his child on his mind when he left his home. Both are dead, but only one planned it that way.

Oh, I think everybody deserves to live, Panther.  Being called a racist is of course an accurate observation of how you and the American police seem to act towards black people.   I don't doubt that there are many good American police but it appears their image is blighted by a minority of bad police who kill black people and get away with it, regularly.  To them and you, in your blanket condemnation of the Black Lives Matter movement, black lives don't matter.   Shame on you, Panther, shame.    ::)

Black lives don't seem to matter to other blacks.  The biggest threat to a black man is not the police it is another black man.

However, Police officers are not meant to be randomly killing the citizens they have sworn to protect.   Something which Panther and the other critics of the Black Lives Matter movement have attempted to obscure in their racism towards black people.   Black people are US citizens too.    ::)

You have implied it in your continual attacks on the Black Lives Matter movement.  Tsk, tsk.  To you, the lives of Police Officers are more important than the lives of the citizens that they have sworn to protect and whom they shoot.

The Police Officers who have been shot, didn't deserve it any more than the black citizens did, yet both groups have been shot.   The Black Officers literally get away with murder.  Hardly a week goes by without news of another black offender who has been shot by a Police Officer who is only too willing to use his gun.   Why are you surprised that some people are taking the law into their own hands and enacting revenge on the Police?  Afterall, isn't having and using a gun an American right?   ::)
