Title: Malcolm Turnbull commits to refugees intake.

No doubt he has his eye on a UN job when his PM gig is up.

Nowhere does it say how many non-Muslims from Central America and how many Muslims from elsewhere.

The Central American intake will prove to be a disaster of drugs criminality and organised gang violence.

Just can't win with you, can we, Herbie?

You complain about Muslim immigrants (unnecessarily mind you) and when Malcolm decides to get Christian migrants, you still complain.   Tsk, Tsk.   ::) ::)

Complaining is what brought us out of the Stone Age and into the modern Western civilisation that we have today.

Not being satisfied with the status quo. Always looking for ways to invent a better mouse-trap. It's why we're walking on the moon today.

You owe a lot to the critics who for centuries have said there must be something better than what we have today.

Except we haven't walked on the Moon since 1972, Herbie.   ::)

As for complaining, that's only half the story.  The other half is someone listening to the complaints and trying to fix them.

What are you going to do when the cure for alzheimers is created by a Muslim researcher?   ::)

We are quite capable of walking on the moon today. For all we know, we might have had a few people up on the moon recently. But that misses the point. Complainers bring about change.

There's room for improvement in just about everything we see around us in our daily lives - and they will be improved in the fullness of time.

The Abos remained a Stone Aged people because they were satisfied with what they had. No whingers - no improvements.

Third World countries stagnated for centuries until the British booted them out of their lethargy through trade and industry.

Somebody actually did invent a new and better mouse-trap, of which I have two in my kitchen cupboard.

People were so pissed off with batteries running cordless drills and such having such a short life before needing recharging, that they came out with a Lithium Ion battery that is the answer to a prayer. Off and on I've used one for a WEEK now and it's still on FULL CHARGE. Stunning. Amazing. Incredible. 'Horny' even. All because of whingers.

Yet all the evidence shows we don't have people walking on the moon today and don't have the technology to make it happen without a lot of R&D being reundertaken.  We have lost all that technological know how.

What?

I've forgotten the question.

I suspected as much.  Nothing like a bigot to ignore scientific research if it disagrees with their political and religious viewpoint...   ::)

You'll have to repeat that - I was outside feeding my free range chickens and collecting their eggs.

Incidentally, Brian - where is Nicole?

No idea.  Where is "Nicole"?   ::)

Ahhm... that would be like reinventing the wheel. Unless you gave up on keeping the technological know-how on record, you should be able to travel to the moon more effectively and efficiently than whatever effort the 1972 NASA team made on their last run. All new flight technology should be able to convert to a better space shuttle for those rare trips to the moon. But, I will make the guess that even in the next 100 years, we shall not see many missions take place to the moon. Reason being that there is not going to be much point. I suppose that was how the thinking was in 1972.

Herb's talk about his power tool upgrade. My dealing with people/customers/head office when people are not happy with the quality of their meals. The new hospital car park being in its early stages of construction. Plenty of complainers about for that one.

The question isn't intended for me, but what Muslim would be taking medicine so seriously? Is that not something that is akin to admitting that the world is round.

Look at the current problems the various private enterprise space companies are having in the US and Russia to get payloads into Low Earth Orbit.  We have lost a great deal of knowledge since 1972.  The Space Shuttle was a dead end as far as space flight was concerned.  It could not leave LEO.  It could not fly to the moon.

Complainers do not drive technological change.  Inventors do.

If there were no one around to incite technological innovation, then there would be a lot less technology. Our drive for perfection could be impeded or encouraged if a war broke out in the world. The threat of losing out on something is what drives people to do better. Having things given to you freely is what encourages complacency.
