When first we practice to deceive . . .eventually it might come back to bite us on the bum.
A big search of words & phrases frequently used by both Shakespeare and Christopher Marlowe has allegedly proved that they collaborated in the writing of the three parts of the play Henry VI. But scholars have believed for a long time anyway that they probably worked together on much more. |

Once More unto the Bard
Shakespeare and War The National Army Museum, London, until 1 September 2024 https://literaryreview.co.uk/once-more-unto-the-bard There is no end to war and no end, it would seem, to the uses Shakespeare can be put to in war. So says the ‘Shakespeare and War’ exhibition, tucked away in the National Army Museum in Chelsea. The exhibition’s small size belies its scope, spanning a period from the English Civil War to the early stages of the war in Ukraine. |
