Absolutely. When I lost my wife and house, and not long after, job, I dedicated my time to charity work . When I started looking for work again, I made a conscious decision to only accept a job which would see me helping others (no, I wasn't on the dole). My charity work has dropped off a lot lately (because I don't like the way most charities are run), but I still spend my days at work helping people worse off than me. Education helped me a lot, and I'd like to make sure every single kid in this country has access to a University education. Sure, a lot of the degrees are absolute crap, but all education is useful. |
