KEY crossbencher Nick Xenophon has lost control of his own party, with two of his team refusing to support his decision to reach a compromise on the government’s welfare cuts. The behind-the-scenes turmoil in the Nick Xenophon Team comes as the South Australian senator was forced into an embarrassing backdown on his “fake news” accusations against The Australian, which published modelling on how much his plan to increase the Medicare levy would cost Australian families. The levy hike was one of several measures he suggested to fund the government’s National Disability Insurance Scheme, which the Coalition had initially said could be under threat from any block to its Omnibus Bill. Nick Xenophon and the Fake News. Picture: ABC News Mr Xenophon had come close to a deal with the government on its childcare package during negotiations with Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, Social Services Minister Christian Porter and Revenue and Financial Services Minister Kelly O’Dwyer. But The Daily Telegraph understands Mr Xenophon was overruled by NXT’s MP for Mayo Rebekha Sharkie and fellow SA senator Skye Kakoschke-Moore. The government is understood to have held meetings with Mr Xenophon individually and, separately, with his entire team, where differences in opinion emerged. Mr Xenophon sought to play down the divisions within his team. “Any suggestion that we are not a strong united team is totally wrong. “The process we take to make decisions is based on consensus. If there isn’t consensus, we work on a majority decision basis. But in the case of the Omnibus Bill we were unanimous.” Mr Xenophon said the government needed to “come up with alternatives” to cutting money from “vulnerable, low-income fam |

Holy Moses, even the "united independents" are revolting.
Whatever will Mr X do now ? Will his "party" split asunder ? Has deal maker extraordinaire Malcolm done a secret deal with Mr X's "party" members ? Did he offer free candles to Sth Aust for the next blackout ? Mr X with his federal parliamentary "Team": Member for Mayo Rebekha Sharkie and senators Skye Kakoschke-Moore and Stirling Griff. Will Mayo Rebekha Sharkie and Skye Kakoschke-Moore skip across to 1 Nation ? |

Gosh and Mr X was planning to take Sth Aust by storm but he didn't see 1 Nation sneaking up behind him.
He is now seen as just another self interested attention seeking "independent" whose main tactic is to say NO just to get attention and to get a "power thrill". |

And, in case you were wondering, here is an account of what actually caused the latest blackout in Sth Aust.
It was a case of when the wind don't blow the power don't flow. The useless Greenie windymills died and took the whole shaky mess down with them. And Blackouts Shorty wants ALL Australia to end up like this with his 50% Greenie windymills rubbish. Lets face it Nick is a beta male and most senators are.
it is extremely dangerous to give beta males and emotional females any say in the running of the paddock Malcolm is the lead stallion (for the moment) and if he cannot direct the herd , then the herd is not safe. the wolves in asia are delighting in this situation. they will just pick off whatever takes their fancy and the alpha stallion is pretty well newtered because he has to run everything by all these beta males. this can only lead to the extinction of the herd. the herd is in great peril, the wolves are at the door and the beta males like these senators , are actively helping the wolves eat more and more of the herd. How pitiful |

Not at all. Just making sure at all times we do not lose sight of the main game on centre court.......... the split rabble who try to pass themselves off as the government. Their non-stop attacks on the underprivileged that you rightards try to cover up with your deflection are well documented. |

Correct Phil, power lines went down thus isolating sa from grid. Not enough generating capacity in sa maintain supply because the feds wouldn't allow extra generators to kick in.........absolutely nothing to do with renewables as peddled by the rightard retards.

He never really explained why the gas fired station at Pelican Point was not ordered online if that is possible. If it is not, the law needs changing to allow AEMO the ability to demand all available plants be bought online at the current market $ rate, in other words remove their ability to take profit based decisions which seems to have been the case in the most recent outage |

The old BigMac is so full of bull it is a wonder he doesn't say moo!!!!
Banging away on the worn out Socialist drum and pumping the well worn Greenies' lies and non technical ignorance. in SA's latest blackout the wind stopped blowing and the power stopped flowing - how hard is that to understand ? And then the whole overloaded mess collapsed - how hard is that to understand ? But then the Lefties' inability to understand technical stuff is well known and what they don't understand they make up. |

You have no idea do you??? The wind was blowing too hard which caused the wind turbines to close down as a safety measure....Why troll out bullshit that is so easily debunked??? ::) ::) ::) |
Title: Re: oooooopssss Post by juliar on Feb 17th, 2017 at 5:35pm
Geez Scope you have just provided an example of what I stated that Lefties are basically technically obtuse.
You clearly have very little understanding of how the power system works. Sth Aust basically has an unstable system that can fall over at the drop of a hat. The windymills in this latest blackout stopped because the wind stopped as the 2GB interview stated. so suddenly the whole load swung onto the transmission line from Vic which was in danger of overload and so load shedding was ordered which means another blackout and fridges full of food as rotten as the Labor Govt. For various reasons of Labor incompetence the gas fired backup generators could not be started and so the whole useless shemozzle collapsed AGAIN. So a useless windymill setup MUST have a coal or gas fired backup gene capable of supplying the WHOLE load. The catch that a non-technical Lefty would NEVER understand is that large thermal power stations CANNOT be quickly brought up to speed and supply the whole load because the boiler temp must become stable and the actual generators can only be SLOWLY brought up to speed to avoid tearing the blades off the turbines. Of course some non-technical Lefty will pipe up and say, "Why not keep the coal/gas genes running all the time in case the useless windymills stop ?" This rather defeats the purpose of having the useless windymills in the first place doesn't it ? Hence Malcolm has VERY WISELY said clean coal is the way to go and stop wasting money on useless windymills that NEVER pay for themselves. |
