One reason why many Europeans have only one child or none at all,is, that the majority of people live in high-rise building with a close neighbour on each side,below, above, with multiple children, having little tiffs, causes a lot of friction, yet one child or no children removes that problem.

Wages will rise in those areas for the survivors. The ability to compete with India, Africa, and the Middle East will be more conspicuous for western society. Australia will be at the forefront to overcome the competition since we seem to work longer hours for less than the Europeans or the Americans.
