a terrible problem is North Korea .
and symptomatic of all that is wrong with the western leaders. if i could use a horse analogy. north korea is like a flea bitten , skinny, pathetic weak brumbie that got into the pasture a few decades ago. now a "lead stallion" would have established authority over this runt from day 1. you see, nature understands that you HAVE to establish the peck order very quickly or problems will fester. so North korea should have been brought to heal decades ago. but we dont have good lead stallions in the west, we have supplicating "weak sauce" girly men and they thought they could just let this runt become emboldened and not bother dealing with him. I mean, he's just a little runt. Why would i be bothered going after him. he might get in a lucky bite or kick. he wont eat much pasture. i dont want my herd of mares to think i'm a big meanie. i'll just let him be. Always the wrong option. Leaders are made leaders not for the glory or the trappings but to put in the hard yards and to "grind it out" to maintain a functional order. Those world leaders should have acted decades ago before this runt got strong and uppitty. now a new stallion is in charge and he is in the unfortunate position of having to try to re-establish the correct order of the natural world. but a stallion who just threatens and doesnt act is not helpful. if the stallion goes after the runt and rears up and shows his teeth but doesnt follow thru with action, he is merely emboldening the runt even further. i'd hate to be in that stallions shoes. there could be a lot of pasture destruction due to the inaction and feminine supplication of the last 30 years of beta male leadership in the west |

Hi Aqua,
we now have 2 alpha males - one in the USA & one in North Korea - who will back down? Is this the End Times? WW3? |

i dont think the world has any alpha male leaders apart from Vladamir Putin and Rodrigo De Terte. Kim Jong is a counterfeit alpha male...he even looks like fat steve. No one in the west would possibly s "start" WW3...they are all too comfortable. both stallions will just stand in opposite sides of the paddock and munch away. what might start WW3 is if we run out of grass to munch on and we havent sorted out the peck order. this is where the leaders who want to hold hands and sing kumboyah have gone against nature. nature is very cruel, very harsh, very "dog eat dog" and thats what makes it so beautiful. remember i always say the "marketplace " is 'reality" and if you arent willing to "compete" you dont bring any "value" and if you dont bring "value" you have no "worth" modern leftie socialists cant accept that. they wet the bed at its harshness. they cower in the corner and cover themselves with a sheet rather then admit the world is harsh and man up to protect their kin. this is how nature is meant to operate and it is how we are biologically wired. the jungle understands that there is a "law of the jungle". lefties see this as something abhorrent. i cant see why. it is what it is. it is reality. accept it, embrace it, make love to the harshness of nature, put the evolutionary blowtorch on yourself to be the best that you can be and stop being little butt hurt pukes who need everything to be rainbow coloured unicorns to prevent you having a little cry |

Latest news.
North Korea will nuke Guam. Washington (CNN)North Korea's military is "examining the operational plan" to strike areas around Guam with medium-to-long-range strategic ballistic missiles, state-run news agency KCNA said early Wednesday local time. The threat comes just hours after US President Donald Trump warned Pyongyang that if they continued to threaten the US, they would "face fire and fury like the world has never seen." Dubbed the "Tip of the Spear," Guam is a key to the US military's forward deployed presence in the Pacific and is home to thousands of American service members and their families. http://edition.cnn.com/2017/08/08/politics/north-korea-considering-guam-strike-trump/index.html?adkey=bn |

North Korea doesn't want to start war but only to defend itself.
On the contrary Trump wants to precipitate war hoping to get rid of problems with the deep state, the same as Bill Clinton bombarded little Serbia to escape problems with Monica Lewinsky. |

George Bush had to 'trick' everyone else into helping USA to go to war.
At least TRUMP is the first President in a very long time to actually have some BALLS to not stand for Asian shenanigans and just tell them flat out - "keep it up and I'll knock you down". If it was Obama or Clinton - they would be striking bargains with Asia to appease and just 'talking more' about 'peace, love and moonbeams'. Obama would probably just make another 'popular speech' to show the world how 'cool' he is, before going off to hold his wife's hand for the Cameras. Sometimes it takes a little man to teach a little bully a lesson! ![]() |

It has already duped China into Communism and then turned its back on them and become 'Capitalist' (democracy). Russia is nothing but a 'gangsta' run nation with a half rusted military. No longer the dangerous and powerful 'Soviet' of long ago. Maybe things will happen with (ras)Putin in power, maybe he will disappear. ...but none of all this would have happened if the SOVIET UNION didn't emerge and stretch into Asia. I'm pretty sure China would much rather invade Russia than tackle with USA - especially when the majority of its military is 'ground based' troops. Bridgewater, New Jersey (CNN)President Donald Trump reiterated his bellicose warning to North Korea from earlier in the week, telling reporters at his golf club in New Jersey on Thursday that
his threat to bring "fire and fury" if North Korea continued to threaten the United States may not have gone far enough. "Maybe it wasn't tough enough," Trump said during a lengthy exchange with reporters. Trump said that past administrations had not done enough to take on North Korea and that it is time a President "stuck up for the country." Trump declined to rule out a preemptive strike on North Korea, saying he won't discuss potential military options. Trump responded to North Korea's threat to hit Guam by mid-August with a threat of his own. "Let's see what he does with Guam," Trump said in apparent reference to Kim Jong Un. "He does something in Guam, it will be an event the likes of which nobody has seen before." "You'll see, you'll see. And he'll see," he said. http://edition.cnn.com/2017/08/10/politics/trump-north-korea/index.html |

It makes me laugh when we have countries like Russia saying they want the US to try a peaceful solution. First of all, that approach clearly hasn't worked. Sanctions will never work because of NK's military-first policy. Kim would let his own people starve (they eat grass now) before depriving his precious military. Secondly, the Russians can hardly talk given their actions in Crimea and Ukraine.

Nobody's "nuking" anybody. You've got a paranoid, spoiled kid who terrorizes his own (and so be it then, it's their country) and an Andrew Jackson type yahoo who talks tough so as to engage. A war with N.Korea means a war with China... regardless of who strikes first (neutrality my ass). We are so over-extended already and have usurped Congress so many times in engagement militarily - it makes no sense to follow through.

.. and now for our lighter moment on KRUD News, YOUR news network with a sting....
Trump's North Korea threat could have a '$10 trillion price tag' for US Donald Trumps recent threats to unleash "fire and fury" on North Korea would take a $10 trillion hit to the United States economy, a North Korean expert estimated. In recent days, Trump and the North Korean regime have engaged in heated rhetoric about the Asian nation's nuclear weapons program. Trump warned on Tuesday the US would rain down “fire and fury” on Pyongyang if North Korea followed through with its threat to attack the US-held Pacific island of Guam. The president's rhetoric came as tensions mounted between the US and the rogue state. The escalating threats followed reports North Korea had mastered crucial technology needed to strike the US with a nuclear missile. If the US was successful in wiping out the North Korean regime, experts predict the process of reunification between the two Koreas to follow would become exhausting and economically catastrophic. But Dr Leonid Petrov, a North Korea expert and visiting fellow at the Australian National University’s College of Asia and the Pacific, warned this would cause a significant financial burden on the US. “I think it will probably cost at least $10 trillion, but probably more,” he told News Corp. Dr Petrov previously said reunification would cost an estimated $3 trillion immediately, with $7-8 trillion more to follow over the next 10 years. “The younger generation of South Koreans is not very keen at all to see reunification because they know they will have to pay for this,” he said. If this were to happen, Dr Petrov said marked social tension between South Koreans and North Koreans would follow, including abuse, crime and other social problems. “Both countries have been isolated from each other, they speak different dialects, understand the world differently. South Korea doesn’t need its impoverished, aggressive, poorly educated brothers to inundate South Korea,” he said. Dr Petrov argued the South Korean economy was reaching crisis point and urgently needed access cheap resource and labour, News Corp reported. “South Korea might use the opportunity to exploit North Koreans who have less education or experience in enterprise. Millions of North Korean workers could become second class citizens, there could be widespread discrimination - even the border might be kept for years to stop mass immigration." “It will take at least a decade before the level of prosperity will be equalised between North and South.” The best-case scenario is something akin to the reunification of Germany in 1990. South Korea would likely benefit economically in the long run, according to a report from Capital Economics. Like Japan and many European countries, South Korea has a population that is fairly old with the median age 41.2. North Korea, however, is a much younger country with the median age of 33. In a peaceful transition, this would breathe youth back into the workforce and improve the South’s demographic outlook. Youth isn’t the North’s only natural resource — it’s home to the Korean peninsula’s greatest wealth of untouched raw materials. For South Korea, access would push down the need to import and provide it with cheaper building blocks for its strong manufacturing industry. Besides the utilisation of North Korea’s potential, a unified Korea could benefit significantly from lower military expenses, which cost both countries dearly. That money would be freed up for other projects. Amid Trump’s heated words days ago, South Koreans are buying more ready-to-eat meals that could be used in an emergency and the government is planning to expand nationwide civil defence drills planned for August 23. Hundreds of thousands of troops and huge arsenals are arranged on both sides of the tense demilitarised zone between the two Koreas. Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron spoke by phone on Saturday and agreed to work together on a crisis on the Korean Peninsula, the White House said in a statement. "They discussed the need to confront the increasingly dangerous situation associated with North Korea's destabilising and escalatory behavior," the White House said in a statement." https://au.news.yahoo.com/world/a/36700088/trumps-north-korea-threat-to-cost-10-trillion-for-reunification/?cmp=ydn&utm_source=Marketing&utm_medium=Emarsys&utm_campaign=DailySnapshot#page1 |

Consider what happened to Yugoslavia, Iraq and Libya. Like the DPRK, all three were US ‘target states’. And all three were destroyed and their leaders killed. Do we honestly think these countries would have been attacked had they possessed nukes or missiles that could reach US targets? Of course not. Detailed analysis of these conflicts shows us that the Empire gets its way through a mixture of bluff followed by the use of military force, but only when it believes the risks are minimal, or non-existent. If it believes the risks are too high, it backs off and starts talking about the need for ‘dialogue’ and ‘diplomacy’. |

What is he trying to say? - that he's going to start a nuclear war because 4 missiles drop harmlessly into the water 40km off the coast of Guam? Really? - something that could turn into a global nuclear war & wipe out the whole planet? - or even take the risk that Kim Jong-Un has say 6 ICBMs that would take out 6 American cities burning everyone alive? I think Trump could be removed from office for being insane - it only takes a few psychiatrists to agree & that could happen. |

http://edition.cnn.com/2017/08/29/asia/north-korea-missile-launch-guam-threat/index.html (CNN)North Korea's launch of a missile over Japan was a prelude to more military operations directed at the American territory of Guam, North Korean state media warned Wednesday. The country's state-run Korean Central News Agency reported leader Kim Jong Un presided over the dawn launch Tuesday of the "ultra-modern rocket system," the first missile ever fired from the capital Pyongyang. North Korean officials told CNN in Pyongyang that Kim was "very satisfied with the performance of the missile." The intermediate-range missile, identified by the North Koreans as the Hwasong-12, flew over Japan, further fueling tensions between North Korea and the United States and its allies, Japan and South Korea. The SETI program
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Search_for_extraterrestrial_intelligence has come up with no results. I wonder why? Some people say that when any civilisation becomes intelligent enough to transmit radio waves - it's not long after that they discover nuclear weapons & wipe themselves out. I feel that this is exactly what we're going to do. It seems inevitable. What a pity. |

Was it an H bomb?
http://edition.cnn.com/2017/09/03/asia/north-korea-nuclear-test/index.html NORSAR, an independent seismic monitor, estimated the blast created a yield of about 120 kilotons. The tremors caused by North Korea's Sunday test were at least 10 times more powerful than the fifth test, Japanese officials said. An official at the Korea Meteorological Administration estimated the blast was about 50 kilotons. Sunday's test comes almost one year after Pyongyang's fifth nuclear test last September, which triggered a 5.3-magnitude seismological event. That took place on September 9, the country's Foundation Day holiday. North Korea claimed it set off a thermonuclear weapon during that test, but experts said the data showed it was more likely a boosted fission weapon. |

Title: Re: Trump says fire & fury to North Korea. Post by Sir Bobby on Sep 4th, 2017 at 8:10am (CNN)US Defense Secretary James Mattis vowed "a massive military response" to any threat from North Korea against the United States or its allies in a statement outside the White House after a meeting with President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence and top national security advisers Sunday. Mattis said Trump wanted to be briefed on each of the "many military options" for dealing with the North Korean nuclear threat. "Our commitment among the allies are ironclad," Mattis said. "Any threat to the United States or its territories, including Guam, or our allies will be met with a massive military response, a response both effective and overwhelming." Mattis called on North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to "take heed" of the UN Security Council's unanimous position against North Korea's nuclear program and again stressed the US military's position. "We are not looking to the total annihilation of a country, namely North Korea, but as I said, we have many options to do so," Mattis said. http://edition.cnn.com/2017/09/03/politics/trump-north-korea-nuclear/index.html |

To be frank there was never any "appeasement". A truce was signed all those years ago, but never a peace treatie. It was signed because neither side was winning, and back in US, there were basically no support for the ongoing Korean War.
Peace was maintained over the years, not due to appeasement, but due to self assured mutual destruction. If war break out, it could cause untold amount of economic destruction on the US's already fragile and debt ridden economy. And at the same time, US's many enemies would come out of wood work - in the middle east, central asia, Africa etc etc. It would make the great depression a cake walk. |

I think what we should worry about is not how many bombs that North Korea have. But how will it impact on Australia when US decided to do an Iraq war over that. And it depends who triggers first. North Korea first: As soon as something happens, the South Korea capital would be come under heavy bombardment. This would immediately cause massive causalities, before South Korea military can respond. This would cause a ripple of economic devastation around the war starting in Asia. Australia will be impacted - China, South Korea, Japan and USA - pretty much our trading partners - and the results will be immediate. USA first. Lets face it, the USA is unlikely to use atomic bomb on North Korea. As the resulting nuclear cloud will drift towards Japan, South Korea, and possibly China and Russia. It would be messy, and the USA will find no friends. So, has to be some surgical strike, or even MOAB. These however, would require a simultaneous strike with a large air and naval force. And North Korea is crazy but not stupid, it would be able to see it coming from miles away. And will retaliate, by striking against South Korea, and Japan. Now, the cease fire call were signed by China, Russian, North Korea, South Korea and USA. North Korea and South Korea are still at war. So if USA breaks the cease fire, then it potentially mean that China and Russia will once again be involved as well. Because, the agree is for cease fire on the 38th parallel. In the best case senario, South Korea and the USA will probably be able to defeat North Korea (without Russia and China butting in - thats a big if) - say in matter of a year. There will be at least millions of Refugees fleeing towards China, and also millions more who cannot leave and choose to stay. I can foresee civilian casualties into millions - from the actual war campaign, and the chaos that follows it (e.g. starvation, famine, and disease). All these will happen at the same time that most markets in the world is tanking. South Korea will not be able to feed or keep order in North Korea. North Korea will divide, and probably turn into a second Afghanistan with rule of factional warlords. At same time, sensing USA's and China occupation and weakness. A few things may happen: 1. There will be resurgence of terrorism and extremitism in Central Asia, Middle East, and Africa. 2. There will be a low depression in USA, and along with it Australia. 3. In term, USA will balance that out with China, by supporting Taiwan independence, Tibet Independence, the South China Sea dispute, and India/China border dispute. 4. The USA will balance out Russia, by stirring up more trouble in the Middle east, Syria, and also Ukraine / Belerus issue. And all this, will have the potential to get worse, until every country in the world is affected. |

dear Tickle ,
I think it's more likely that the Yanks will try to hit every NK gun emplacement with a bomb of some sort - from either a Tomahawk missile or laser guided bombs. That would knock out the artillery pointed at SK. They would then of course try to knock out every mobile missile launcher - they must be following them by the minute with satellites. NK could just fissile out before they have a chance to fire any nuclear weapons. If they do then there are missile defense options. The war could be over in a day without a nuke being fired. |

Hi Bobby: This is what we were made to think. But the reality is very different. In movies, yes, the artillery guns are lied up very nicely in one area. So that Rombo and Arnold can charge in, and bomb them. In reality, the guns are placed in areas some are know, some are secret and sheltered well under ground. The nuclear warheads are not fired on a stable platform, but fired on a mobile platform that have a series of secret underground tunnels to support it. You may be able to knock out most of the obvious targets, however its the targets that you dont know that is going to hurt you. Okay, lets look at this way. With all of its might, the USA were having alot of trouble with rudimentary tunnels dating back Korea wars, Vietnam wars, to the more current Iraq and Afghanistan wars. If they cant bomb out those low tech tunnels, do you think they can effectively wipe out a more prepared tunnel? |

Why doesn't Korea have a reunification program? -
have democratic elections monitored by international inspectors & even allow Kim Jong-Un to be a candidate. If he loses he could be given diplomatic immunity for all the murders & other crimes he's committed & be given a safe country to live in + a large amount of money. That way - everyone would be happy - not a bullet fired & the majority decides. We would all be spared a nuclear war. |

http://edition.cnn.com/2017/09/04/asia/north-korea-china/index.html
Beijing (CNN)China -- North Korea's only global ally and biggest trading partner -- has put on a stoic face since Pyongyang successfully conducted its sixth nuclear test Sunday. President Xi Jinping didn't mention his country's unruly neighbor at all in his closing address at the BRICS summit of emerging economies Tuesday, or in earlier speeches, although a communique issued by the group expressed deep concern and called for the crisis to be settled peacefully. But the test of a hydrogen bomb couldn't have sat well with China's leader. It's the third time in one year that North Korea has overshadowed a major Chinese event -- previous missile tests coincided with the unveiling of Xi's global economic blueprint at his Belt and Road summit in May and the G20, which China hosted last September. "The Chinese have been pressing North Korea very hard not to stage a nuclear test," said Mike Chinoy, a former CNN Beijing bureau chief and the author of "Meltdown: Inside the story of the North Korean Nuclear Crisis." "For the North Koreans to deliberately choose a few hours before a very important summit meeting when Xi Jinping is hosting the leaders from India, Brazil and South Africa -- a big, big deal for the Chinese -- is a deliberate poke in the eye from North Korea." |

North Korea talks tough:
http://edition.cnn.com/2017/09/11/asia/north-korea-un-vote/index.html (CNN) The United States will pay a "due price" if harsh sanctions against North Korea are agreed at a United Nations Security Council meeting in New York Monday. North Korea's Foreign Ministry said in a statement published on state media that if the US "does rig up the illegal and unlawful 'resolution'" it would respond in kind. "The DPRK is ready and willing to use any form of ultimate means," the statement said, referring to the country by its official name the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK). "The forthcoming measures to be taken by the DPRK will cause the US the greatest pain and suffering it had ever gone through in its entire history." |
