Title: Unintended consequence - NBN?
Post by Aussie on Nov 8th, 2017 at 4:26pm
Rang someone to get their fax number.  "Sorry, we have no fax since the NBN was installed here!"

They have no phone connection...so no fax capacity!

Jayzuz!

That's one reason why I haven't swapped over yet. I use my fax a lot for work. As far as I have been able to make out, only telstra has told me they'll be able to do a 'duet' type system so I can continue to use my fax. But only if I sign up on a two year business plan which I want to avoid.

And it's not just faxes. A lot of the back to base alarms, medical panic systems etc won't work on it either. I'm still trying if my intercom will work as that is telephone based as well. :D :D :D

Faxes are 35 to 40 year old technology.
