TREASURER Scott Morrison has taken time out from delivering the government’s mid-year financial health check to slam Greens senator Nick McKim for mocking Christmas.

Senator McKim and his Tasmanian colleague Peter Whish-Wilson caught the ire of Mr Morrison after posting an image of a banner which reads: “merry non-denominational seasonal festivity”.

“Sorry Eric,” they wrote on Facebook, in reference to senator Eric Abetz, alongside the image. But Mr Morrison said Christmas was a “very spiritual time of year and central to (Christians’) religious faith”.

“Grow up and show some respect to your fellow Australians,” he said. “You may not share their views or their beliefs, but as elected members the least you could do is not mock them, especially during a time of year that is very important to them.

“For Members of Parliament to treat this important religious occasion with such disrespect is as offensive as it is disappointing,”

In April Senator McKim was slammed by conservatives for mocking Easter after joking he would treat his staff to “halal-certified holiday eggs and warmed non-denominational cinnamon-flavoured geometrically decorated seasonal fruit buns”.

Senator McKim’s banner was likely a reaction to Senator Abetz’s request to 85 government agencies asking how they were celebrating Christmas in messages to staff: “Please provide the messages (if any) sent to staff (on the most recent occasions) of Christmas/New Year, Easter and Ramadan by the Secretary of the Department or Agency Heads at the relevant time,” he requested.

Red, years ago when I was young and stoopid I explored the Greens as I naively thought they cared for the environment.  The closer I got the more I was shocked.  The true believers want to reorder our society top to bottom.  They are really wolves in sheep's clothing.  At least Nazis are wolfs in wolfs clothing.

The far Left clearly wants all reference to Christmas abolished. Okay, so they don’t believe in Christ, so what, Merry Christmas has nothing to do with Christ or Mass for that matter, and to be traditionally merry is to be stone drunk.

“Happy Holidays” is to wish someone enjoyable "holy days”, the latter being more religiously venerated. … but the Left usually gets everything arse about tit anyway!

“Merry Nondenominational Seasonal Festivity”, as the idiot Greens prefer, doesn’t really have a joyous ring to it, and it’s hard to explain the meaning to confused kids.

Christmas is the re-named Pagan mid-winter festival of Saint Nicholas (contracted to Santa Claus) it has nothing to do with the birth of Christ nor does Easter have anything to do with his resurrection.

Easter is the re-named Pagan fertility festival of the Goddess Oestra (thus the female hormone oestrogen, Spring, rapidly breeding rabbits, fertile eggs and all that stuff) nothing to do with Christ or his fabled resurrection.

Two excellent reasons to abolish the Senate

I couldn’t give a stuff! All I care about is seeing my kids’ faces on the morning of December 25. It’s a celebration of something and I don’t bloody care what! Each year they get to decorate a tree and prepare for Santa’s chimney entrance and they try desperately to stay awake to witness the event. But they always fall asleep and all they see is that the empty glass of milk and two biscuits they left for him are gone by daybreak.

Then it’s off to frantically open their presents before the whole 40 strong family arrives with enough tucker to feed an army. And we do sort of get a little merry until we all flake in a heap.
