Infowars and Alex Jones continually breached their Terms of Service by lying and spreading fake news.

I thought you'd be applauding something like this given how much you accuse people of lying and spreading fake news on here.

And is there really any surprise this is happening?

The President is doing nothing about the Russian interference and how they were able to sway opinion using their troll farms, so the services that were exploited are doing the work to protect the sanctity of the democratic process themselves despite the inaction from the oval office.

The only reason someone like Alex Jones is getting caught up in this is because like many out on the fringe, he uses conspiracy in place of facts and pushes narratives that are not only total bullshit and demonstrably untrue, but they hurt real people, be they the families of the victims of terrible tragedies that Infowars claims were deep state hoaxes or he stirs up the crazies into taking guns to pizza places and threatens lives (for example).

Infowars have always pushed the boundaries of free speech vs yelling "Fire" in a crowded building or making a fake bomb threat.

I'm still surprised time and time again that you Mech, someone who apparently cares deeply about the truth given how you attack people for what you deem their lies, will align yourself with someone like Trump or Alex Jones who are well documented in their abandonment of the truth.

This is but another example.

Jones is just a nutter out in the fringe and Trump is in survival mode, willing to say or do anything to protect himself.  When they have people who look up to them and take their word as gospel, it's dangerous.

Like, costs lives dangerous.

YouTube, Facebook etc are enforcing their terms of service as they have every right to do as a public company. 

This is nothing new.  Just look up the “adpocalypse” where people talking about Transgender issues or would report on school shootings as a news/commentary show, they would lose their monetisation all the time, even if they were anti-guns simply because of the content they were covering was no longer advertiser friendly.

Only that's not true.

Look at all the "left" and "progressive" or even SJW content that is being removed and demonetised from YouTube at the moment.

It's not a conservative thing, it's an advertiser-friendly issue.

Here's a pro-tip, attacking the families of victims of gun massacres and pretending that their children never existed or were crisis actors is not advertiser-friendly.

Calling on your viewers to stand up and "do something" about x y z that is a total fabrication that leads the unhinged viewers who believe their lies taking up arms, that's not advertiser-friendly.

The final line passed was the constant lies that get put out, the inciting violence etc, they're against the Terms of Service of the platofrm(s).  Infowars had been warned, they'd been flagged, but they didn't change their ways, in fact, they've posted more controversial content since this started.

It's as if they wanted to be banned for publicity sake or to stoke the fires of their next conspiracy, that being that conservatives are being censored.

It's simply not true.

If you want to insist that it is, I expect that you'll have the numbers from YouTube showing all the "leaning" of the content they've had to remove and it shows a huge bias towards conservative content being removed, but even that wouldn't be the full story.

That should prompt an investigation into why these lists of contents had been removed.  It could just be that the conservatives are posting more material that is against their terms of service.

Again, there is no evidence to show that the right is being targeted, not enough to call for an actual investigation.

Let alone enough to claim that it's true and there is a conspiracy in motion...

You talk about capitalism, this is capitalism in action.

A private for-profit company has decided what content they deem advertiser-friendly in order to continue making money, and the content Infowars post to their platform is too toxic to remain without the risk of hurting their bottom line.

It is a purely capitalist decision.

It's not a free speech issue.

Don't feed into Infowars latest conspiracy that this is a deliberate plot against them.

You either like capitalism, or you want YouTube regulated by the Government to force them to keep any and all content no matter the legality or how much it costs them in advertising revenue, all in the name of free speech.

Ours was running them for the Uni. So some students run PE classes for the primary schools, some teach first aid to villagers for them to take back to their village. We were seeing how we can go about running science education in the high schools.

I used to work for a Christian group that translated the Bible into indigenous languages but they also brought basic literacy and numeracy as well as general aid to societies in need. For my efforts in that group, i was 'outed' as a CIA agent (true!) and one I worked with as a nuclear weapons specialist.  The truth is I was a computer consultant in the 80s and he was a Phd in physics turning his hand to linguistics.

to be fair, non-swinging voters are voting because their party of choice generally expresses their personal political ideology and that is a reasonable thing. What is NOT reasonable however is for this preference to become absolute above all other considerations. political ideology must not be our first or only consideration in who we vote for and in general I think Australians get that. When pedo Roy moore stood for the senate in alabama it was analagous to a pedo running for a blue ribbon liberal seat in Sydneys North Shore. Moore lost, but only by the smallest of margins. Here, the loss would be enormous. Also, no party here would ever put up someone so tainted. When Pauline Hanson first made her racists comments she was dumped. Labor have done similarly.
