Title: Music Concert Ticket Prices
Post by AiA on Oct 24th, 2018 at 11:39pm
What is the limit you'll pay for a ticket to a music concert? Jeff Lynne's ELO is touring North America next year and prices range from USD140 - USD179 with special seating from USD199 - USD699. Jesus.

Any big venue I look for the dvd of the tour for $30 and watch it at home.. big venues they put big screen either side of the stage so u can see the performer anyway.
All u really see is the idiot in front of you with his phone in the air recording it. ;)

No limit, really.

I paid $600 each for Rolling Stones tickets a few years ago.

Once Mick Jagger's gone he's gone for good, but I can always find more money from somewhere.

I'd rather spend money on an experience than material goods.

I no longer spend money to see Rock and Roll bands. You can hear great talent in that genre at your local pub, for the price of a beer, which is where it all started. Recently spent $20, to hear a magnificent Chamber orchestra. They filled the hall with gorgeous woody tones, without amplification.

There is a limit for you somewhere ... I am all for spending money for experiences but those prices I quoted were for the schit seats in a huge venue, the kind of venue I avoid ... I saw Green Day a while back in an intimate outdoor venue and paid USD 85 which I thought was fair.

The industry has shifted from printing dollars with record sales to making money off concert tickets and promotional items.

If there is a worthwhile band or group of bands playing at the Music Bowl, I won't part with anymore than $100. Otherwise, I won't go above $50 for a ticket to see some band that I have some general interest. I paid $85 for a State of Origin ticket. Never felt so bored watching a game of league.... and I was at the game live. So, if a good band came to town that I liked, or perhaps something special, I would not go above $100.

For $700, I would want Tawny Peakes to fluff me. Then have Brie Larsson ride me.

When it comes to the big names, I am not going to pay money to watch multi-millionaires.
