Ok has any got any tips, I know we have at least one horse expert on here.
If you're wondering I always place a few bets once a year on the cup at a barbecue. But the bottom line is I haven't a clue about the horses and just choose the numbers. I'm going to finish of the last few episodes of Line of Duty so I will come back tomorrow. |

Heavy rain intermittently in Melbourne today, so pick a mud runner.
The Conquistadors tip: Yucatan (Lloyd Williams). Although that is the favourite so will put the moz on it. |

LOL I did that the one and only time I went to the dogs, first race 1:100 came in but I didn't have a bet we were too late. Other 8 races there was always a dog at big odds always put $5 on it but nothing. Just went and got the paper will study soon. |

It's raining cats and dogs here at the moment ... could be minor flooding about the place, but I don't know which horses are the best in very wet conditions.
One thing for sure, it will be a miserable day at the races today. :( https://youtu.be/JMC3QwMtQk0 |

Yep, thats my thing. Its one thing that a freak accident occurs as the horse runs. By thecliffsofmoher was clearly seen to be agitated and sweaty before the race. And yet no one did a bloody thing about it. |

I bought up my point from earlier in this thread about it being seen to be agitated and sweaty before the race. Someone responded half the field was. My feeling is that if it was a race of humans and half the field was as agitated as the Melb cup field the race would have been postponed or cancelled. |
Title: Re: Melbourne Cup Post by Gordon on Nov 6th, 2018 at 3:07pm
I don't support horse racing.
Using an animals meat for sustenance is one thing but not entertainment. I'd rather see some of the slappers in ugly dresses do a lap of the track. |

I have to admit I used to like it, e.g. love Winx, but I think the horses pay too much of a price for the greed of their owners. Even when they aren't racing they suffer. For example, I heard that Makybe Diva is basically a cripple these days because she was over raced. |
Title: Re: Melbourne Cup Post by Ajax on Nov 6th, 2018 at 3:11pm
Shame about The Cliffsofmoher.
The boss spent $11 total which $3 of those was for a win on cross counter she got back $36. I got peanuts and danced to the music box.... :-[ |

Like greyhound racing, the successful animals are generally cared for beautifully and no doubt they love what they do. Even the whipping of horses is a bit over blown. The dirty secret is whay happens to the unsuccessful animals. For every 1 successful animal 100 end up as pet food. That cost is too high. |

How do these nags rate internationally. How does Winx rate internationally, fair to middle I would say, still, good entertainment, I don't know how our multi cultural society feel about such events, gambling and drinking parties that stop a nation, the wogs don't mind but others would, like Muslims. |
