China appears to be racing ahead and Donald Trump won't stop its advance.

Tesla recently announced its worst quarter ever while Chinese car maker BYD announced a 700+% increase in profits. Warren Buffet is smarter than Trump. Buffet bought shares in BYD and his investment has grown multiply in value.

That makes fleet vehicles, like buses and taxis, the best candidates for buying electric versions. China currently makes 99% of the world’s electric buses, and experts say it’s unlikely other countries will catch up anytime soon. Autonomy is coming. Could China lead? In 2018, the Chinese government’s top economic-policy agency set a goal to have half the new cars on China’s roads be partially or fully autonomous by the end of 2020. China’s technology and manufacturing capabilities still have a ways to go before that goal becomes realistic. Currently, the US leads the self-driving-car industry, thanks to its swarms of software engineers in Silicon Valley. But China’s goal makes sense. If done right, a fleet of fully autonomous electric cars that large could be one of the most resource-efficient systems of transport the modern world has seen. yup, china is the biggest market and Tesla is at this moment building a big factory there, it's built to make about 500,000 cars a year and should be online before the years end and even making a few thousand cars a week....
ohh and a side note Tesla had a 140% increase of car sales this first quarter than it did last year, hardly its worse quarter ever :)

More sales are good only if you are making a profit from each item sold.

Tesla doesn't appear to be evolving as time passes.

Tesla's mechanical designs and technology are now 11+ years old since the first Tesla sale.

While innovating on software and electronics Tesla has not innovated on other aspects of electric car design.

They have one of the highest profits per car of any car manufacturer, they just spend their profit to make the company bigger and manufacture more, you think the new factory in China is free ?
They have also bought the manufacturing machines for their new Model Y, it all costs money and just last year they went from 100,000 cars a year to 250,000 that is not cheep and I'm amazed they made any profit last year with that kind of expansion.
I'm not sure what you mean by not evolving, no other car is even close to being as efficient as any Tesla, The Model S they started making 7 years ago still doesn't have a car close to it.
their cars are now being shipped with full hardware for autonomous driving and later this year or next they will be fully self driving...… Where are they not evolving. ;)
