May all the asians who practice torturing dogs before eating them, as they believe it makes the meat taste better, die a long slow painful lingering death.

All cultures are not the same, these evil bastards prove that conclusively.

Chinese love their 'cooked live' style.
They have a many restaurants now that serve the animal live that cooked that way. From rare turtles, to fish, to dogs, to cats, to even dolphins.
It is popular over there and is considered the dish for the rich.

Mind you, not so long ago an island in the Solomons ate 198 of the 200 Chinese Boatpeople who landed there. When discovered, they were asked why they didn't eat the two boys. The Islanders replied "Too scrawny."

Toothpick anyone?

A Tasmanian Convict back in the Colonial days escaped Gaol and conned 6 other convicts to join him. One by one, he picked them off and ate them, as they made their way to the West Coast. He eventually got caught. But managed to do the same all over again. Escape wasn't his main motivation.

We make our bacon suffer its entire life first. Not to improve the taste. Just to save money.

A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

It is kept in a cage too small to turn around in. You end up with long strips of bacon, but all too often they hang over the side of the pan.

We too have been raised into a society that has normalised the slaughter and consumption of highly intelligent domestic animals — animals who are capable of experiencing fear and suffering — animals who will show affection, if given the chance. But rather than 'dogs' and 'cats', we call them 'pigs', 'lambs', 'cows' and 'chickens'.

We will create a kinder, more caring society for ourselves if we can all widen our circle of compassion to those we have been taught to think of as 'food', rather than 'friend'. Like people in China who value dogs only for their meat, many of us have simply never been given the opportunity to appreciate 'food' animals for the unique and curious individuals that they are.

Scientists now know that cows have best friends; that sheep can learn to respond to their own name; that chickens exhibit cognitive abilities beyond that of young children; and that pigs show empathy and can play computer games designed for chimpanzees...not to mention is what is done to sea life, if fish had vocal chords the sounds of screaming death would be relentless..

Chinese are a ancient people whose cultural customs go back thousands of years to where eating all sorts of animals and animal products for medicines has been the norm....change is slow yet it is taking place in urban areas where Chinese people love their pets, to demonise all the Chinese as evil people is racist.

It wasn't that long ago Europeans people were eating anything that moves...including dogs and cats...now its taboo as people move forward.

Australia was whaling up until the 1970's.

In Canada they are still clubbing baby seals to death and widely supported by Canadians.

The Australian government sold off water to such an extent a million fish were slowly killed in the Darling River,....the  Australian government not wanting to recognise Climate Change had no contingency  plans to counter the drought and extreme bushfires that decimated large numbers of wildlife species, including cuddly kolas burnt to death, where apiarist upon entering the forest to retrieve hives were appalled at the screams they were hearing emanating from blackened areas....and people want to dog whistle over China's cultural nasty habits yet don't look at our own is indeed shallow to say the least.

As China increasingly embraces modernity the old cultural habits will die out, rejoice in that....and worry about Australia regressing into a backward thinking easily swayed by politicians and their friends with big money to influence peoples thinking... ::)

Quote:
Nobody is killing those adorable white baby seals
This is, bar none, the most persistent and widespread myth about the Canadian seal hunt. Every year, anti-seal hunt literature is almost guaranteed to include images of white-coated infant harp seals. This is despite the fact that Canada has banned the killing of white-coated seals since 1987, and that the Inuit never killed white coats. Even if organizations don’t trade in images of white seals, they will still lean heavily on the term “baby seals.” “Each spring, the Canadian government authorizes fishermen to club or shoot to death hundreds of thousands of baby seals for their fur,” writes the Humane Society of the United States. This is a reference to the fact that the vast majority of harp seals killed are between one and 3.5 months old. However, some context might be in order. Those rotisserie chickens at the grocery store were likely alive for only 40 days. The average pack of bacon comes from a pig that was only on earth for four months.

Twenty-two years ago, I ran over a dog that had been standing in the street. I did not know what I had run over until I had pulled over up ahead and went back to see. I heard the dog wail in pain and then quiet down to its death. I felt terrible. The owner came out to see. He was sad. But he said not to worry about it.

That video of the dog being boiled was next level psychotic. I would not let a chicken suffer for the sake of having the best drumsticks around. But they let a dog suffer before cooking it. Put it out of its misery before you prepare your meal, at the very least. The guy videoing was just laughing like a madman.

Why don't they kill the white coated ones? I imagine they would make much finer coats. And the meat would be tender.
