Yes as they should have been, this however is the fault of the Republicans, they knew that Trump was not a fit person to be president well before the election. Probably the only president elected after his party was aware that he routinely sexually assaulted women.

On the reality scale however this has nothing to do with impeachment. It is factually recorded that the Democrats refused the opportunity to impeach on at least 4 other occasions. The most obvious is the 10 cases of obstruction of justice proven in the Muller report or the delayed prosecution on the criminal offences that his lawyer is in prison over.

IMO it is a mistake to have not charged Trump with the lot. However Pelosi refused going for the simpler case.

It is obviously and factually untrue to say the Democrats wanted impeachment when they very obviously had unreasonably avoided it till they were put in a position with no other option.
