I've decided to take some time off from the forum.

There are frankly too many dickheads pushing the same sort of "fight the power" nonsense that we're seeing with protesters in the US right now, only they're not just fighting "big Government" but basic science and common sense.

I'd rather take this time to cold turkey from the constant COVID-19 chat, the bombardment of stupidity from Trump and spend more time doing better productive things.

I've disabled all alerts other than the fringe and will still mod where needed, but won't be taking part in any of the discussion or at least the next week.

Stay safe everyone.

Light was a loner with no friends or family who cared for him outside of these forums, of course, he wouldn't stop posting, not until he found another forum with people who he thinks loves him but doesn't realise they just love that he tells them what they want to hear.

I'm still here to mod the Fringe, but that doesn't mean I have to take part in every single discussion here, or in the Covid-19 or America forums.

I'm trying to take a break from constantly thinking about, talking about or researching COVID-19.

My family decided they wanted a break too, so we won't be watching ABCNews24 for every Scomo or Palaszczuk presser.

It would be unfair of me to continue to do so online while they're all trying to improve their mental health.

While I enjoy the debate, family is more important.

That said, the Fringe is still moderated.

I'm still here to mod the fringe, just taking a step back from all the COVID-19 and endless stupidity around supporting really bad government decisions, here and abroad.

Just being open about the fact that I may not be posting on these topics, the Fringe is still moderated and hasn't been abandoned.

I have been enjoying the lack of "petty political crap" on TV compared to "normal business" during this crisis.

It would be nice if the media kept to only important messages about COVID-19 and it would be great if the normal political bulldust was reduced to a large extent after the crisis is over.

Life is so much better without the political bun-fight that we normally experience.  :)

This Coronavirus is far worse than the Spanish flu.
People talk about a 1% death rate for Covid-19 - utter bullshit.

In the UK - 13.5% of those testing positive have died.
In France  17.3% have died.

That's why the Govts. of the World are so freaked out.
