I so hope, for the benefit of humanity and the world as a whole that 90% of the global over-population gets wiped out rather than Nukes doing the job.

Maybe we'll learn something by then.
Going by how nations are itching to get 'back to normal', humanity as a whole does not have a chance.

This is called natural selection.  It is said that the original strain in Wuhan China was more lethal.  But after the shut down and the social distancing.   The more lethal strain was out selected by a more virulent, but less lethal strain.  And that second strain is the one we are seeing around the world today.   And the virus will continue to reshuffle and change. 

The more lethal a virus is, means that it would be less contagious, because, it would kill the host before it spreads to more people.  Like worse, the more contagious a virus is, means it would be less lethal, as a live host will likely to spread the virus to more hosts.

Some the most successful viruses are the ones that is able to co-exist with their host.
