Trump Told China To 'Go Ahead' With Prison Camps, Bolton Alleges In New Book

Quote:
President Trump told Chinese President Xi Jinping that he endorsed Beijing's now-infamous archipelago of prison camps for minority Uighurs, John Bolton writes in his new memoir, The Room Where It Happened.

The former national security adviser quotes U.S. officials who took part in Trump's meetings with Chinese counterparts and their interpreters; the U.S. president said he thought building the camps was "exactly the right thing to do," Bolton writes.

Trump generally has been silent in public about China's treatment of the mostly Muslim Uighurs, who are subject to an Orwellian program of surveillance and repression. Roughly 1 million people have been detained without trial, subjected to "reeducation" and other harsh treatment.

Trump's support for Xi's program is one of a number of revelatory allegations Bolton makes against Trump in the new memoir, one that details what the former national security adviser calls the president's transactional dealings with world leaders that went beyond those in the Ukraine affair, for which Trump was impeached.

Bolton was "astonished" by the cynicism and "chaos" he saw within the White House under Trump, he writes.

Did you see that idiot attorney general William Barr when he was talking about the book?

He said they were hoping to stop the book from being published.

The reporters pointed out to him that it had already been published, but Barr refused to believe it.

I'll see if I can find the clip.

Takes these excerpts which take "smacking stupid" to the level of "stupidest smacking wannabe dictator ever":

Trump said invading Venezuela would be "cool" and that the South American nation was "really part of the United States." [...] And Trump told Xi that Americans were clamoring for him to change the constitutional rules to serve more than two terms, according to the book.

Yep, you betcha. Very cool, very legal, all of that.

He also describes a summer 2019 meeting in New Jersey where Trump says journalists should be jailed so they have to divulge their sources: "These people should be executed. They are scumbags," Trump said, according to Bolton's account.

That's right, Trump said journalists should be executed, according to Bolton.

One of the best excerpts I've read thus far is

Bolton writes, Mr. Trump "said he wasn't in favor of sending [Ukraine its aid] until all the Russia-investigation materials related to Clinton and Biden had been turned over." Mr. Bolton writes that he, Mr. Pompeo and Defense Secretary Mark T. Esper tried eight to 10 times to get Mr. Trump to release the aid.

Anyway, there's more where this came from, but it hasn't been released on-line yet.

I know. The Real Americans know when Mr Trump's just being a bit of a bullshitartist:

Quote:
On Wednesday, Trump signed into law the Uyghur Human Rights Policy Act of 2020, which the president says "holds accountable perpetrators of human rights violations and abuses such as the systematic use of indoctrination camps, forced labor, and intrusive surveillance to eradicate the ethnic identity and religious beliefs of Uyghurs and other minorities in China."

China's not important to them. What counts is Mr Trump being re-erected, ya?

They tried to stop the release.  Sure there are 1st amendment issues, you know, that thing the Right only care about when it suits them, so they went after the proceeds Bolton would earn from the book.

Seems like he released it anyway, even if he doesn't get anything for it.  That just shows that he wasn't in it for the money.

I don't like Bolton, but it seems like he's finally found it in his best interests to blow the whistle.

It's called gossip and innuendo when Greggery and Sad say it. When the US National Security Advisor says it, we call it a fact.

They don't care about their country - they care about themselves.

Thats my point, and probably why Trump hired them in the fiurst place. All ends justifies means tyype of guys.

Yeah.  And when these people do start to put the country first they get branded a traitor by the usual suspects.

It's all about Trump, not America.

Why would it be about America? Your average American is a mindless chode. They live lives of pure garbage. They have minds like sieves, poisoned by fast food and endless porn. They burn with resentment for Alpha males like Mr Trump, who get up to "have a go" and "make a stand and "help the little guy", giving him a "hand up, not a handout."

Sure he's got to be a bit of a bullshitartist from time to time. He only does it to highlight the lies and hypocrisy inherent to the "political game." Read Piaget. Aquascoot put a page from one of his books in another thread. Mr Trump has every right to play the game by the "rules of the game itself". This is what the Superior Man does. If we all sat back and said how nice it would be to live in a free country, nothing would get done.

The Real Americans want China to help Mr Trump. They recognise a real Alpha when they see one. While Fat Steve and Joe Lunchbox wet their panties over a flew blacks getting killed, Chairman Xi's over in Kenya installing surveillance cameras.

This is in all out interests, surely. The Real Americans know this and see it as the mastery it is, one Alpha helping another.

I think it's a smart move. Who cares about America?
