No, it's true, I watched it. Mr Trump spent half an hour reliving his water-deinking story. He'd spent 90 minutes saluting - he didn't want to get his tie wet!

A pure silk tie, he said, most expensive. You spill a drop on one of them and they're ruined. Perfectly understandable.

Mr Trump also explained the ramp. He wears expensive leather-soled shoes, leftards. And there was no handrail! Mr Trump made that point by having a handrail built into his own stage. He showed it off - see?

That general who walked in front of Mr Trump wore rubber-soled boots, so of course Mr Trump asked for his help. He can't afford $20,000 shoes like Mr Trump. He's in uniform, so it's totally fair that Mr Trump should hold his hand walking down that slippery ramp in his fancy shoes.

I forget the rest, but Mr Trump devoted a good half hour of his speech talking about it, so it's good that the Mechanic raised it here. These are important issues for America now. Who cares if Americans don't want to turn up to listen to their president in person? They were there in spirit. God was there in that stadium, Mr Trump said he felt it.

I suspect trump is finished. He can no longer fool the swinging voters into thinking he might be the answer. He has failed at everything he's tried to do, and is responsible for the deaths of many Americans because he wants to play politics with Covid. All he has now are die hard trump supporters, and they're so stupid they will back him no matter what he does. People are waking up to the charlatan ... and none to soon.

Having said that, I didn't think he was going to win the last time around so you just never know.

It's already begun. I suspect trump is finished. He can no longer fool the swinging voters into thinking he might be the answer. He has failed at everything he's tried to do, and is responsible for the deaths of many Americans because he wants to play politics with Covid. All he has now are die hard trump supporters, and they're so stupid they will back him no matter what he does. People are waking up to the charlatan ... and none to soon. Having said that, I didn't think he was going to win the last time around so you just never know.

The Dems went with Biden, so who knows.

He's still an objectively better choice than Trump, but so was Clinton despite her faults, yet here we are.

If the US does re-elect him they deserve everything that's coming to them.

The Republicans are the stronger outfit.
The Democrats are in disarray and self-destructive.
Biden only got through via the capitulation of other candidates.

I have not really thought about Trump's financial affairs, in the context of what I previously wrote on this topic. If Trump dies, would he probably have his assets seized to pay off debts. Melania and Ivanka would not be seeing a great deal of an inheritance.

I can't imagine Melania is really all that happy in the last few years of her marriage. And I think Ivanka's relationship with her 'dad' is under duress at best. I would be sure that she loves him. But, it seems very awkward.

Karnal, if I looked like I had been out working 8 hours in the hot sun to get a tan that only Donald Trump could only get by applying fake tan to himself, I would probably be well on my way to heat stroke or severe weight loss within the week.

From what I have experienced from doing delivery driving in the daytime in my late teens, you end up so dehydrated that you are in bed by 8pm anyway after having snoozed for 30 minutes post-rehydration.

Trump would probably spend the better part of his day indoors. With only the golf course to keep him active and in the sun. Nobody (not even Trump's hippie doctor) would consider Trump's fake tan a result of an outdoorsy lifestyle. And if Trump wanted to get on Melania's good side, he would probably have to have 2 showers within 2 hours before Melania would let him touch her.
