Statistics show that Nike is selling over 780 million pairs of shoes each year, about $200 pr., profit US$10bill. The loss of $790 mill is around 8% profit.  The Betsy Ross line was not fully marketed and is irrelevant to the loss.  But she deserves better than the heel of fungal joggers with virus.

When Nike sells shoes manufactured in sweatshops of third world societies, they would be able to weather a short-term downturn in sales.

If you think you are smart enough to advise Nike on a new business model then I want to hear what it is.
