Title: Fermentations—back from the dead?
Post by Jovial Monk on Oct 25th, 2020 at 3:32pm
I have asked for Fermentations to be recreated. I would Mod Fermentations and Critters and Gardens.

Many have regretted the demise of Fermentations caused by an intrusive, interfering GMod. That won’t happen again! Nobody regretted the death of Fermentations more than ME!

This would mean I Mod TWO boards. Not sure if that has been done before but we have had two GMods, Gandalf and Annie Anthrax mod an MRB as well as GMod duties.

I have a tremendous amount of knowledge about fermentation in its various forms, history of food and drink that are fermented, from the start of civilisation in the fertile crescent to now.

It will see another burst of posts and activity like has happened to Critters and Gardens.

I hope FD approves this.

What do you think?

Why not?

Everybody has been saying how good a board it was!

So—resurrect Fermentations! Two great, active boards not just one!

Title: Re: Fermentations—back from the dead?

I can manage them both no problem, neither are big boards or anything.

So 3 votes against by people who hate me because {whatever?}

Can’t you take the bigger view? Set aside silly prejudices?

You always have good reason for anything you do, don't you? You carry a deck of get out of gaol free cards. Doxxing, good reason, deleting MRB, good reason. Don't forget I used to read that MRB and I saw no good reason. Take some responsibility for your actions.

Fermentations was a great board, everybody said so. Why not try it again?

Plenty more posts, is that not what is wanted? Posts of substance, of interest, posts that inform and educate and sometimes amuse.

Two small boards, easily managed. What is not to like?

Fermentations will be as good the second time around. Better maybe.

Critters and Gardens has shot through the 6500 posts target I thought we might achieve today. Fermentations will achieve good post numbers as well. Good, substantial posts.

Hello Agnes, what is biting your arse?

Fermentations was a great board, will be again. Critters and Gardens is doing really well with a mix of informative and amusing posts. When I took it over it had about 4300 posts, now it has more than 6500! This despite two threads going missing.

So I can create interest. What is not to like?

How am I causing trouble here? Can you explain?

Critters and Gardens is doing well and I thought Fermentations should be recreated, another whole area of interest, of post count. All the little creeps who never have anything interesting to contribute crawl out of the woodwork to naysay, to prevent someone creating interest and fun. Why not try to create interest in your board and leave others alone to run their boards, eh?

Why don’t you go to your board and write some informative posts about the environment? Why try to prevent another member creating interest, informing and entertaining? Jealousy? That is it, right? Your board is dead, you killed it so you want to prevent another starting another great board! What a lousy attitude!

WHY should it remain dead? There are a lot of little people, mean minded, noncreative don’t want anyone to succeed, to shine.

Fermentations was a great little board, will be again. I do hope FD agrees. No longer is there GMod interference in MRBs so no reason Fermentations Mark 2 would fail.

This board is doing fine, all would have to agree. I can keep that going AND run Fermentations too!

For FD he would see more posts, hopefully more advertising revenue?

Any reason I would be out on my “mangy a[rse] VERY soon !!!” dear Agnes? You another one who does not like to see others succeed where you failed, hmmm?

I have done nothing wrong, have done well with this board you would have to agree. Now I hope to have Fermentations restarted and I will do well with that board too, and contribute to other parts of OzPol as I have been doing.

So I am NOT making trouble here and you lied!

I can run two boards no problem.

I could post Fermentation topics here but I do not want to. Like you posting puppy videos in the Dubyne MRB, the topics do not belong together.

Why don’t you post about the environment in your board and leave me to run mine? Of course, you know nothing about environmental matters but you can copy and paste stuff, right?

Title: Re: Fermentations—back from the dead?
Post by Jovial Monk on Oct 26th, 2020 at 6:28am
As to “minor MRB” this one, unlike the Dubyne MRB is growing fast. I think 10,000 posts will be reached before the end of this year. Fermentations would reach 10,000 posts by mid 2021.

That is at least 15,000 more posts by mid 2021, nice boost to FD’s ad revenue.

Nice bit of rationalisation there by the forum clown.

Can’t point to anything bad I have done with this board so make up a bit of blather and use big type to put substance into a fairy floss of a post. Sure, there are some here all against me—who the hell cares?

Jasin if you would write posts in plain language maybe people would respond more to your posts? You strive so hard to appear so clever—and fail. Just make your posts in plain  English. In your post you mix up a canine metaphor with Space Wars. Doesn’t work. And why the ad homs?

Did Body Odor put you up to running to Mod a board you couldn’t handle? Were you the only “anyone but Monk” candidate they could find? What was the fallback plan when you had to admit you couldn’t run this board and wanted to hand over the Modship to someone else? Or hadn’t you lot thought that far ahead?

The election showed I have the support of a huge number of members here. I have run this board well and boosted post count by well over 2000! Success by any measure.

This thread has been fun—like a good farce is fun.

AiA “We all knew this day would come” when he had predicted I would turn this board into Fermentations. Have not done that or the other crap he said I would do.

Jasin—pure rationalisation of his loss at the election. The election was fun! I showed I knew about critters, surely a prerequisite to Mod a board? Just look at the mess Bobby made of the Environment MRB!

Bobby— well, just dribble really.

Sucks to be you lot!

I don’t believe elections are a good way to select MRB Mods—just popularity contests and rather tribal too. Just appoint people who want to Mod a board and have the requisite skills.

No, fermentation requires its own board, as my previous Fermentations board showed.

Some meaty topics:

1. Did the nomads settle down, create cities and intensive agriculture, civilisation—to ensure a supply of beer?

2. What are some iconic beer styles, why are these no longer made (except by craft and home brewers?

3. How did the Industrial Revolution affect beer?

4. How are vineyards being affected by AGW, what are they doing about it?

5. Wars tend to accelerate technological advances. Did modern wars (Napoleonic era and later) affect beer, brewing or winemaking? Other beverages?

6. What is a “brewed soft drink?” Was a brewed soft drink fermented?

7. What fermented beverage did the Mongols drink? Why?

8. When and why did science—chemistry, microbiology etc—become important in beer making?

9. Hogarth made 2 paintings about drinks. What were they, what did they show?

10. The Indians of parts of South, Central and North America made beer—out of what grain? What malting process.

Ten great topics just off the top of my head.

Title: Re: Fermentations—back from the dead?

More:

What was bappir bread? What was it used for?

What was zythos?

What was used before hops, before gruit?

Were the ancients in the Fertile Crescent able to make dark beer?

Tons of stuff to discuss.

So why post a POLL just for you to ignore it.

No-one wants Fermentations here. It is dead. Let it stay dead.

Go create Fermentations in your dump since it is so fantastic and use it to attract all members you want.

Only 1 vote yes that was probably yourself.
