Title: Climate Change Bill Presents Opportunity
Post by whiteknight on Nov 10th, 2020 at 5:14pm
Climate Change Bill presents opportunity for Morrison to catch up with the rest of the world
9 November 2020
ACTU

The bill to be introduced today by Zali Steggall offers the Morrison Government a chance to join with the rest of the world in addressing the existential threat posed by climate change.

China, Japan, South Korea and now the US have all announced net zero emissions targets and the EU has increased their climate targets. With a change of direction in US climate policy likely Australia now stands alone among our trading partners and allies in not taking meaningful action to limit climate change. The result of the US election is likely to leave Australia even more isolated on the global stage.

The ACTU supports the goal enshrined in this bill of net zero emissions by 2050, and also supports the creation of a Climate Change Commission to set shorter term targets and report on Australia's emissions and preparedness for climate change.

There is widespread consensus, except in the Liberal Party room, that Australia needs a new zero emissions target and policies to ensure we get there.

Unions, Business and civil society have all been urging adoption of net zero by 2050. We urge all parties and MPs to engage with this bill and put in place a legislative framework which will support workers and industry through the transition to a low carbon economy.

Quotes attributable to ACTU President Michele O’Neil:

“Under successive coalition governments we have fallen behind the rest of the world. We are out of step with key allies and trading partners. This bill represents an opportunity to get back on track.

“The end of the Trump administration will likely lead to renewed global action to avoid the worst effects of climate change. Australia cannot afford a Government which continues to lag behind.

“The ACTU’s policy is to call for net zero emissions by 2050 and a just transition for all workers who will be effected by the changes that are necessary to meet those targets.

“We know that the human cost of unchecked climate change will be appalling, but we have also seen this year the economic cost of wide-spread disruption to our society. This will be the reality of climate change and we must act now to avoid it.

“Workers are already on the frontline dealing with the effects of climate change – they need support from a Government which refuses to take action.

“Businesses and working people need policy certainty on climate change.

“All parties and MPs should support this bill which would finally bring us into line with the rest of the world on this critical issue.

Consensus is political, science it is not.

Does that include the the increasing costs due to renewables?

A vote for labor is a vote for financial slavery based on a lie.

The narrative that Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) will destroy the Earth is a lie.

The last 40 years of empirical data (observations in nature) projects a warming of approximately 1°C by the end of 2100 century.

This means the Global Circulation Models (GCM) were wrong in 1990 when they predicted a warming of about 2.7°C up to 4.5°C .

And therefore our and all other nations that commit to the AGW theory are committing themselves to a lie.

Billions of tax payer money will be sent to the oligarchy's stock exchange and their united nations.

That money would be better spent here at home improving schools, roads, hospitals etc etc.

Zali Steggall and Michele O’Neil a couple of puppets that tow the line and cannot think for themselves.

But then again many people have been brainwashed to believe in AGW, these days they start them off at from primary school.

Do your own research,

1. Find out where the 97% comes from

2. Read up on the hockey stick and how it was found to be fraudulent in a court case

3. Research the hot spot in the tropopause and how it was missing from the real world, it can only be found in the GCM.

4. Go into our climate history and see if CO2 and temperature correlate for yourself.

5. Find out about the logarithmic effect of CO2

6. If you look around you will come to realise that the IPCC the governing body of climate change has made many many mistakes and predictions that have not come to fruition.

7. Read up on climate gate, the emails are still around just google

8. Find out why in Australia we are only ever given the amount of CO2 per capita.

9. Research Natural and manmade CO2 and discover the portions of each in the atmosphere and how they are absorbed by natural sinks.

10. Don't just believe what you are told, climate change is more political than scientific, so do you want financial slavery based on a lie.

Its up to you whether you want to be a sheep, a sheep dog or a wolf.
