Title: Raising revenue on Electric Vehicles.
Post by JaSin. on Nov 24th, 2020 at 3:50am
Seems the Feds are going to slap some hefty 'fees and taxes' on people who own Electric Cars.

...now the purpose of the Electric car is that it is environmentally considerate and cheaper to run.

But the Politicians just don't like people getting ahead.
Just like Gas became the alternative before they jacked the price up on Gas, so there was no longer an advantage.

So there will be no 'advantage' of Electric Vehicles over others. Cheaper to run, but taxed/fees high enough to compensate that no-one gets ahead in Australia.

Well, if we follow Boris in the UK ... there will be no new petrol / diesel vehicles permitted to be sold after 2030 ... so EVs are going to be the norm eventually.

I think Juliar showed me that Lightning, if captured, stored and harnessed - doesn't provide that much electricity at all in comparison to Coal.

So its a catch-22. Everything environmentally better like Electrical Cars - still depend on Old Coal and other highly pollutant energy sources.

Maybe Coal (High Energy/High Polluting) is for the Rich.
Green Energy (Low Energy/Low Polluting) is for the Poor.

...strange stuffed up world.  :P ::) :D
