Title: City ...the most dangerous place to drive Post by Valkie on May 29th, 2021 at 9:26am
Well, what would you expect?
The drivers there rarely get over 15 klm/hr, They drive cars they know nothing about They are on drugs or pissed stupid. Their total driving kilometres after 15 years would equal about 2 months of driving by rural dwellers. And yet these morons are huge supporters of greed cameras (because they will never be booked) But Id push the boundry beyond the city, the whole Sydney/ Melbourne/ Adelaide/ Perth etc areas are all the same. Zero real road sense, zero real driving ability, dangerous on the road. Quote:

You can pick 'em on the highways, especially during high usage times like holidays... they can't just use the wide open spaces of a highway but just have to 'shoal' into a compressed group like they were on Parramatta Road peak hour - then wonder why, when one thing goes wrong, there is a multiple crash at 100+ kph. Or they hog the right lane at 95 in a 110 zone and wonder why people are irate.... or they tail gate without thought because that's the Sydney distance... four feet from the car in front at 110kph and a sudden stop, or they sit beside a truck instead of overtaking it safely and getting out of the way and suffer terror from sitting beside the truck... FFS...
Should not be allowed on highways without special testing and training. I like a football field in front and one behind at 110kph, and nobody beside me.... how often do I ride along at 110kph on cruise control with open space all around to have some dick come up fast behind and then sit in my 'wing' like they are traveling home in peak hour without overtaking while I come up on a slow moving vehicle in front of me in the left lane and then have to figure out what to do instead of just being able to coast along at the legal speed ...... it's so irritating and no wonder some get killed. |

This is why I avoid the school holiday traffic. Drivers who drive at 40-50k for 11 months of the year, in cars serviced once a year, if you are lucky, overloading said car with kids and camping gear and often an overloaded trailer, getting onto the freeway at 110k. Its not unusual to see a plethora of vehicles pulled over on the side of the road, broken down, overheating or with blown tyres. I drive the F3 Every day, Never a problem, until school holidays, then it gets damn dangerous. If anything happens, they do what they do in the city.....stand on the brakes. Quite acceptable in the city, but at 110k with a trailer (even without) is goodbye control, hello ambulance. |
