I bought a Lenovo computer the other month, when my last computer no longer worked. Had my computer lasted another year, I would probably have bought another computer from another company with similar features. My current computer was bought for $300 less than a similar computer of comparable features. But, it seems that the company needed to get rid of some Chinese made computer for cheap. Perhaps we won't see Lenovo being sold next year, when the stores rid themselves of stock.

I would not have bought a Lenovo. Realistically, I had actively sought to find a different brand. But, when I saw the computer on sale for $700, it was about $100 less than my previous computer (an Acer) I had been using for several years.

My computer, having 2 years of no DVD ROM to use (as I had broken it), died on me about 6 weeks ago. I had to find a new computer. I had the money. And I found that the computer store was selling this Lenovo for $300 cheaper than it was a couple weeks earlier. All I have to do now is transfer some of the files from my old computer to this one. And perhaps I will take the 8GB RAM chips out of the old computer and fit them into this computer, to make sure that I am not overwhelming the memory of this computer.

The thing about this computer being on sale was probably the result of Australians not wanting to buy Chinese products. The store probably had this computer ready to be sold for the last 6 months and wanted it gone before the end of the financial year AND could not find a buyer. And we will probably see many other Chinese products sitting in warehouses in Australia that can only be sold off at cost price.

I think that might be the case. But I am too lazy for the moment to type in the article on google and recheck to see if I made the mistake, or if I am telling you the mistake I saw in the article.

I was not aware of the Chinese spy ship off the coast of Qld in the last few military exercises. I am more aware of the military build up around town, though.

An honest belief of what I think the Americans think of us Australians would be "Canadians with Cockney British accents".
