There were mothers/Karens (with IQs barely in double digits, I'd say) dragging their children along the streets in the protest. Hopefully they'll get some prison time and the kids will be taken off them. "NSW Police Minister David Elliott says 57 people have been charged after attending an anti-lockdown protest in Sydney today, and that a strike force has been established to identify others who were there." Only 57? You need to do better than that, guys. Anyway, hopefully those 57 will cop some real time behind bars. |

Well - it didn't take long for this thread to go to Hell in a hand-cart, did it?
For what it's worth, no - I normally support protestors, but NOT over these lockdowns. Basically selfish ratbags with an inflated sense of their own importance, and with no regard whatsoever for the health and welfare of others. BUT... Despite the semi-hysterical rantings of the conservative media, the only incidences of violence I've seen on any of the footage I've watched were instigated and escalated by the police - NOT the protestors. Sadly, some members of the NSW Thug Force have been revelling in the licence to commit brutality that the current 'zombie apocalypse' has inspired this useless reactionary 'government' to grant them. New South Wales really IS a Police State, thanks to the Bin-chicken and her corrupt, authoritarian regime. |

In Sydney the authorities are working their butts off to try and get the virus spread under control and these idiots possibly create a major spreader event. Title: Re: Anti-lockdown protests Post by Ayn Marx on Jul 25th, 2021 at 9:13am
Not wanting to sound like I don’t give a stuff but these gatherings are ‘super spreader events’. As has been proven in the US, those getting hysterical protesting in large groups over restrictions are known to acquire the virus with great efficiency. Good riddance to bad rubbish as we say in Oz. A recent N. Y. Times (?) article ( sorry, I’ve lost the link) sited calculations indicating the political consequences of similar US protests groups (largely Republican supporters) dying before the next election. A blessing in disguise?
Sadly none of this undoes the consequences in Oz of St Morrison’s many idiocies. |

Another man with knuckle tattoos and waving a Eureka flag said he was protesting because he believed the pandemic was a hoax.
“We’re completely f..ked right now, none of this is law, none of these are real rules or anything we’re facing,” he said. “It’s completely made up media hysteria, is there a test that tells you about the Delta variant, (do we really know how) are they testing the Delta variant.” Several protesters wore Guy Fawkes masks, while others carried signs with images of Donald Trump, or conspiracy theory slogans including one which said: “ABC News is Zionist propaganda”. “This is Gene Therapy not vaccine,” one sign said. Another said: “We’re not anti vaccine, we’re pro choice”. Rich tapestry, innit. |

I saw a fairly wide cross-section of sexes, ages and ethnic origins. And, as someone else has pointed out 'dole bludgers' (which are largely a figment of the imagination anyway) wouldn't generally turn up at a protest about NOT being able to work. As for the horse-punching - if police didn't ride-down unarmed protestors these things wouldn't occur. My only sympathy lies with the horse (which shouldn't have been there in the first place). |

Some of us in this forum have actually handled or owned horses, and I can tell you they are strong… I watched the vid and at first the rear end of horse was going towards that man… he pushed it away for worry of rear kicking…
Then the horse spun around and the head going towards that man so he pushed the horse head away… horses are strong and force is needed to push them away from colliding or stomping over you is required. Those horses are trained to be crowd and bomb proof. But trained to push into crowds. What was that copper on horse doing then, just standing still? No he wasn’t… he was riding that horse into the crowd. |

In France, where police deployed teargas and water cannon against some protesters, an estimated 160,000 took to the streets in nationwide protests against President Emmanuel Macron’s health pass that will curtail access to restaurants and public spaces for unvaccinated people.
“Freedom, freedom”, chanted demonstrators in France, carrying placards denouncing “Macron, Tyrant”, “Big Pharma shackles freedom” or saying “No to the pass of shame”. The demonstrations highlight the conflict between people caught between the advice of the World Health Organisation and other health agencies and the need to earn a living. In Indonesia and Britain, governments have pressed ahead with easing of restrictions even in the face of surging cases. Meanwhile, around 5000 people demonstrated in Athens, carrying placards touting slogans such as “Don’t touch our children”. And in Italy, protesters gathered in Rome to demonstrate against a mandatory “green pass” for indoor dining and entertainment. In France, as elsewhere in Europe, the government is making it harder for reluctant citizens to put off getting the jabs. Legislation now being considered by politicians will make vaccinations compulsory for certain professions, while the health pass will severely restrict social life for holdouts from the end of the month. There were signs the tougher measures announced on July 13 were having the desired effect: 48 per cent of the population were fully vaccinated as of Friday, up eight percentage points from July 10. While more than three-quarters of French people back Mr Macron’s measures, according to a July 13 Elabe poll for BFMTV, a sizeable and vocal minority do not. Elodie, 34, a care assistant at a Strasbourg nursing home, denounced “the blackmail of caregivers who were at the front line” during the first wave and who were now threatened with “no more pay” and even being fired. “They’ve been lying to us since the beginning,” she said. |

Kristian Pulkownik, 33, was arrested after police tracked him down at a home on Marlborough Street in Surry Hills at 11.20pm on Saturday night.
He was charged with affray, joining or continuing in an unlawful assembly, committing an act of cruelty upon an animal, and breaching a Covid-19 restriction. He briefly appeared at Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday where he represented himself and did not apply for bail before he appears in court again next month. A second man, Remon Korkise, 36, was granted bail after he denied allegations that he had punched a police horse during a separate incident during the protests. Parramatta Bail Court heard that he would plead not guilty after being charged with assaulting an officer, animal cruelty and breaching health orders. The court was told that he had lost work as a photographer due to the pandemic and attended the protests out of “frustration”. Oppressed efnik victims. |

Karen? ;D Jon-Bernard Kairouz, otherwise known as “TikTok guy”, has been charged for his appearance at yesterday’s anti-lockdown protest in Sydney. I hope that none of them goes home to infect their family members, co-workers, their friends or other people in the community trying to do the right thing.
The rest of them who aren't trying to do the right thing, well, I won't shed a tear when they become another statistic. They made their choice. But for a group who will consist of mostly people refusing to wear masks not just during the mouth breading protests but everywhere, will never check-in and if they can't avoid wearing a mask will not wear it properly, they're the plague rats we saw in the US during their stupid protests, and their stats shot up with the vanilla COVID virus. Protesting lockdowns and in turn creating superspreader events will only lead to longer lockdowns. It's like they've all been to the school of Scoot or something. Can we borrow a line from the conservative playbook and demand that none of our, or at least my tax dollars go towards their medical treatment? In fact, refuse them medical treatment so they don't put our health system in danger? |

They've chosen not to be a part of our community, they can have all the "perks" that go along with it. Throughout this whole pandemic, and in my life before it, I've shown compassion and fought for the best outcome for everyone that I can. Be it at work, or the businesses I've had a hand in ownership, volunteering my time, donating time and money and spending the time to learn about politics, the leadership system of our country and what candidates/political groups stand for before casting a vote, or even just the little thing like returning my trolly, holding doors open for people, and for what. These dickheads go out and do this. bugger em. bugger em. They've made their choice. Remember, that thing you're always telling people to do, not the simple act of choosing, but fighting all these measures and being "brave"? Well bugger you too. This is what happens when shitforbrains like you spread the message you do. It's tiring constantly having to remove the gun from peoples mouths, unload the magazine and clear the chamber when they keep pulling another gun out and putting it back. This time, they can pull the trigger. In fact, they should, away from other people so they don't infect them. I'm just being like you Scoot. Where's my gold star? |

No, these are my personal views, borrowed from your and your conservative bretheren. You have a problem when someone who you don't agree with acts like you? Mirror champ. But seriously, screw these people. Their actions, not words, social media posts or thoughts, but their actual physical actions have forfeited any compassion they'll get from me. Accountability. I know you're unfamiliar with the term personally and you spend every second running from it despite your claims of being an honourable alpha and walking the righteous path, but you're just like the Donald. Always someone else's fault, always someone to blame, the path twists and turns and winds back on itself as you change the goalposts or attempt to rewrite your history, it's anything but righteous. These people should be held to account for their actions, but it, sadly, will be others who pay the ultimate price for their actions. Should they have a change of heart and see the error in their ways there will always be a door open for them, but if they choose to walk through that door unvaccinated, unmasked and untested during the height of the spread and lockdowns right now, the door gets slammed in their face. They've chosen their path, let them walk it into the ground. Hopefully, they're walking alone and not taking anyone else with them, but if they choose the ground, let them have the ground. If you don't like it, maybe start a hashtag? I've learned that it's less likely these pilled morons actually suffer for some form of mental illness even though it's natural to jump to that conclusion. They've made a decision to accept content that only reinforced their opinions and reject everything, usually via a conspiracy, that doesn't support it. It's a choice, not an illness. If we have to live with that choice, so should they. You're just cut up because their choice mirrors yours and all the rhetoric you've been posting about opening up, fighting the lockdown and mitigation efforts and being a big strong brave man and facing the virus head-on, not cowering under the covers or like you, having a mental breakdown on the toilet. You want to talk about the true colours of someone, do you even feel the slightest bit of personal responsibility or remorse for the superspreader events the protests have become given your rhetoric online? |
Title: Re: Anti-lockdown protests Post by SadKangaroo on Jul 26th, 2021 at 9:15am
Actually Scoot, you're right, putting them in the ground was too harsh.
Since many of them are protesting the lockdown because they believe the virus is a hoax or at the least nothing to worry about and we should just live with it, perhaps they should be put to work caring for infected COVID patents without any PPE or Masks etc? The virus is just the sniffles, they need work, seems like they could at least be Orderlies? Surely they want employment and not handouts, and the virus isn't real or at the least, just the sniffles, so it should be easy work and easy money? Problem solved yeah? |

Many of the same agitators were involved in a wave of similar “freedom” protests that rocked Melbourne during its second wave almost a year ago, with organisers tapping into a network of Covid-19 conspiracy activists and latching on to the “World Wide Rally for Freedom” movement overseas.
Saturday’s protests saw the fringe movement of anti-lockdown and anti-vax sceptics go national for the first time, with thousands of protesters flouting restrictions in Sydney and Melbourne, with rallies also taking place in Adelaide and Brisbane. Organiser and self-described “vigilante” Anthony Khallouf, who runs website Australians vs The Agenda to fight the “socialist, communist, fascist state” pushing the Covid-19 “scam” — admitted he was surprised by the turnout. “This was not only a slam dunk, it was a home run, a premiership team going from being 18 on the ladder to destroying Richmond by 100 points,” he said. Mr Khallouf, who is facing charges of incitement for his alleged role in Melbourne’s protests last year, told The Australian last Thursday that Sydney would be “the main event”, predicting his cause would tap into the frustrations of locked-down Sydneysiders, especially in the southwest. “It was such a crazy day; co-ordinating an event where there are more than 100,000 people all over the country protesting about the exact same thing, at the exact same time and pulling it off without any problems, is a very proud moment,” he said. Mr Khallouf said he felt no remorse about any Covid-19 infections that resulted from the protests, despite those who attended being slammed by NSW authorities as “halfwits” and “boofheads”. “Don’t target people in certain demographics, and then you won’t see the consequences of targeting people, that’s basically it,” he said. Former boxer Anthony Mundine, who was recently fined for breaching health orders, was reportedly seen at the protest, as well as TikTok comedian Jon-Bernard Kairouz. |

If they come for Avi (me in Angela Davis' original phrase) in the morning - they will come for you at night... what is scary about this kind of thing - and I draw the difference between this attack on innocent bystanders/observers and on those protesting against this imposition - is that it is not those actually breaking the rules/law who are under attack - but those simply observing and reporting on it. Like shooting UN observers in a war zone.... What does a government have to hide when it will not permit open reporting of all views of an issue? How strong is the position of such a government when it can only be enforced by gunboats and invasion of basic rights? As I have said previously: While I do support the INTENT and the MOTIVES behind the
protest, I do NOT support the decision to do it at this time. Breaking a lockdown to protest the lockdown only ever had the potential to make the lockdown even longer. it was ill-advised and irresponsible. But despite this, I simply cannot support the behaviour of SOME of the police who were present. Some of them, obviously psychopaths, are absolutely REVELLING in the opportunity to brutalise people that this pandemic seems to have given them. Ans riding-down unarmed protestors with horses should be outright ILLEGAL. It should NEVER be tolerated or condoned, especially in the circumstances in which it occurred on the weekend. I've watched most of the footage (both 'official' and that which the media don't/won't show) and the protestor DID NOT hit the horse - he pushed it away in self-defense. And the cop DEFINITELY tried to ride him down - not once, but several times. I feel sorry for the horse, but would'nt have felt sorry for its rider had someone dragged him off the horse and taught him some manners. No wonder respect for the police is at an all-time low. |

I say again… this type of nonsense of cruelty to animals …should be banned! A glorified trained circus animal! |

"'might' - that says it all..... as for the suggestion that anyone who doesn't snuggle up to poofs is a hidden poof”
Putting aside for now what precisely you mean by ’snuggle up to’ there are a number of peer reviewed studies covering these scenarios I wont bore you with. Instead I’ll relate my direct experience during the early days of the AIDS epidemic. In meetings with police who were constantly investigating poof bashings in public toilets, parks etc we learnt the problem had accelerated beyond their ability to police all the violence. A group of us poofs who belonged to a martial arts school decided to organise patrols of these beats. I won’t detail the number of poof bashers we put into hospital and/or reported to police. The interesting aftermath came when courts gave these ’normal’ males a choice between jail or bail conditional upon undertaking therapy. A long standing friend, a psychiatrist, treated a significant number of these men. He wasn’t surprised to learn most had very strong sexual attraction to other men they didn’t always manage to suppress, except in front of their mates to whom they pretended to be ‘real men'. And yes it’s true anyone who doesn’t snuggle up to poofs isn't a hidden poof but so what? I’m sure you’ve never even wondered what it would be like to have one of your mates - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - |

This is how those poorer people in those countries are forced to offer their sexual service for money. It’s the fault of their country’s leadership for not looking after their people. Prostitution isn’t new… it’s the oldest profession in the world. Not just during 3rd world as we know it today, but in past too, in many western times in many countries. It’s a human condition that has cause and effect. A need for people to survive making sexual offerings and hoping for others to take up those offerings so they can put food on the table for family. We could never know what it’s like or what to do if confronted with that situation if we were suddenly trapped in a poor environment desperate to survive. Perhaps no choice. It’s either do or die. The sexual industry takes 2 to tango. One uses the other and vice versa. I’m certain the lax leaders know that they can lure rich westerners into their country for many reasons to boost their economy. Just wondering how these 3rd world countries have coped whilst travel restrictions and lockdowns have come into play since Covid happened? They had all become too reliant on westerners visiting. Hopefully they are learning to rely on themselves to survive. I think it was Indonesia (can’t recalll now) that had gone from relying on holiday makers, to going back to growing seaweed or something underwater again, making a living from their own reliance, hard work as it is, and timing the tides, but it’s a beginning to claim self reliance. |

How glad she lives in Australia. We can compare. We can say “there but for the grace of God goes I/us” |

People did what they were told because they were in fear of their lives from the Govts. The Govt. has 10s of 1000s of armed thugs who can knock on your door and take you away. The fines are so large they can ruin your life yet alone all the jail sentences. Our democracy was lost so easily at the stroke of a pen in every state. It was all an illusion. Everything our grandfathers fought for in WW1 and WW2 has been lost. They died in vain and the emergency powers over what is just a bad flu were used against us and get stronger every day. Our democracy vanished forever taken away by communists that were hiding amongst us all the time. |

Walking is good sprint but jogging is probably better Think of it this way If you just set a human being down on a chair in an empty room Fairly quickly he would start to develop nothing but negative self-talk and anxiety That's why solitary confinement is a cruel punishment Now when you exercise Oxygen is diverted to your muscles And your brain which actually uses a lot of oxygen at rest Gets shut down Those negative emotions don't materialize when you're exercising Because your body is concentrating on sending the oxygen and sugar to your muscles It's why exercise is really really beneficial And sitting down is really really detrimental When we are dealing with a virus which definitely spreads in confined spaces What we should be doing is all out exercising In the fresh air It would help demolish the anxiety and hypochondria which now appears to have gripped many Australians And it would also pose no threat of viral transmission I actually heard the chief health officer of Queensland reaffirm last night that footballers in hotel quarantine must now gaffer tape there sliding door shut and send a picture of the gaffer tape to the authorities It's almost unbelievable that someone could be so poorly scientifically informed and be making policy decisions |
