Title: Brexit v CANZUK ... reality v fantasy Post by Laugh till you cry on Aug 10th, 2021 at 2:06pm
The UK is grabbing at straws as the reality of Brexit exposes trade reduction and no hope in a quick deal with the USA.
After Brexit, how could CANZUK ever be considered by a UK which sought isolationism? CANZUK has no hope. https://ukandeu.ac.uk/brexit-and-canzuk/ Quote:

Boris Johnson is a drowning man. He thought Brexit was a lifebuoy whereas its a cleverly disguised millstone.
It is doubtful British farmers would survive competition with NZ, Australian, and Canadian farmers. The last few paragraphs of the previous news article below. "In mid-May, London offered Australia a post-Brexit trade deal, including a transition to zero quotas and tariffs over 15 years. This was seen as a victory by the Brexiteers, but at the same time, the deal prompted alarm among British farmers, who are worried about the prospect that large-scale Australian beef and lamb exports could undercut their prices. The National Farmers’ Union warned that post-Brexit trade deals could cause ‘irreversible damage’ to British farmers, since British agriculture had been protected by the EU Common Agricultural Policy since 1962. In short, it is already questionable whether the UK will be able to pull itself up by its bootstraps, out of the interlocking difficulties caused by the pandemic and Brexit, without the tried and tested cooperation with the EU. Whether Britain, on its own, will have the means to assist its CANZUK allies to cope not only with the consequences of the pandemic but also with the impact of Brexit, is even more unlikely." |

More scare mongering from the anti brexit mob who cannot face the fact that Britain is out of the EU ::)
