Australia, the LUCKY country.


Australia, is called 'the LUCKY country'.

We all know, that people from many nations in this world, desire and want to come here, to Australia, to live here.

Australia, especially.

Because Australia is a wealthy country, and 'a fat country'.

They do NOT express any want, to go, and to live, and to become citizens of places like Afghanistan, or Turkey, or Cambodia, or Somalia, or Sudan, et al.

No.

They want to come to Australia.

Because Australia still, is identified, as 'the LUCKY country'.

Because Australia [more correctly, imo] WAS, 'the LUCKY country'.

QUESTION;
If indeed Australia was 'the LUCKY country', what was it, that in fact, once made Australia 'the LUCKY country' ?

PROPOSITION;
IMO, it was the PAST societal values, and the PAST moral compass, of 'the bog-standard' Australian,
which once made Australia, preeminently, 'the LUCKY country'.


And 'back then', we were not perfect.

Far from perfect !

We still had criminals and criminality, within Australian society.

But 'back then', almost all Australians knew, personally, what was right and what was wrong.

What was acceptable behaviour, and what was NOT acceptable behaviour.

I would say, that Australians and Australia, then, had a functioning moral compass.

But not today.

Not in 2021.

In 2021 [and for some decades] Australians and Australia, have abandoned the [their old] 'moral compass',
and have chosen, collectively, to pursue 'a new course'.

I would argue, that we [our nation, today] are in the mire.

But we should [and should have] compelled all persons who come to this nation, to obey Australian laws, and accept Australian cultural values.

None of this, 'We must try to accommodate their cultural values, HERE, in Australia.'

Many 100's of Shia moslem refugees atm, who are fleeing Kabul, and arriving in Australia,
are being welcomed to Australia, by WOKE Australians - AND BY FELLOW SHIA MOSLEMS.


But, these people [these Shia moslem refugees] are persons fleeing a conflict zone,
and many of them, are people who themselves have beliefs not so different from the beliefs of their own persecutors, whom they are fleeing from !!

i.e.
Many of those same Shia moslem refugees [fleeing an ISLAMIC conflict zone], [also] believe that it is LAWFUL to persecute and kill those persons who do not believe, as they [Shia moslems] believe.

e.g.
Those just arrived in Perth, Australia, and ensconced atm in a 'quarantine' hotel, somewhere in Perth,
ARE ACCEPTING [among other things] DONATED PRAYER MATS.

i.e.
Many of these Shia moslem refugees, are religious moslems.

Many of these Shia moslem refugees arriving from Kabul, will be religious moslems, who,
in following the dictates of ISLAMIC law,
will reject our Australian laws, and our freedom loving, cultural values.

And many of these Shia moslems [once they are fully settled here], will want to try to impose ISLAMIC law and ISLAMIC values, here, in Australia.

I always cringe when I hear Australia referred to as the Lucky Country. The origin is completely misunderstood by the 21st century public. I certainly feel fortunate to have grown up here, but plenty of other countries are lucky too.

The Lucky Country is the title of Donald Horne's 1960 book. Its not some kind Lawson-Patterson poetic allusion.

"Horne's intent in writing the book was to portray Australia's climb to power and wealth based almost entirely on luck rather than the strength of its political or economic system, which Horne believed was "second rate". In addition to political and economic weaknesses, he also lamented on the lack of innovation and ambition, as well as a philistinism in the absence of art, among the Australian population, viewed by Horne as being complacent and indifferent to intellectual matters. He also commented on matters relating to Australian puritanism, as well as conservatism, particularly in relation to censorship and politics."

Australia blundered drunkenly into its good fortune. Unlike North America, where natural wealth was relatively accessible, Australia had to wait for mechanisation, but it has arrived and with it, a standard of living very much like Europe and the USA.

Thankfully the lies of religion are no longer enforced as truth, by social conformity. But that's not luck, its education, or was at one time. Now, progressive multiculturalists should be ashamed of themselves for conferring equality on Middle Eastern superstition, as if Australia's hard-won values are no better.
