Of course we must pray to God.

But whose prayers, does He hear ?

God says, that he will not hear the pleading of some people.

Why so ?




Is God an unrighteous God ?

No.


Is our God a cruel God ?

No.


It is all in the Bible.   ...aka, God's Word.

He begs us.....

Isaiah 55:6
Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7  Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

God isn't cruel, or, unjust.

He has told us, again, and again, that he will give us, according to our works.

What will Jesus do ?

And who was SATAN angry with ?

There is no SATAN ?

Really !       .....a lot of people alive today don't believe that he is [a real spirit].

Why,    ....does SATAN make war against them ?


It is all in God's Word.

and they all want to be popular, on 'social media' platforms.

So, so much !!

And a majority of them would love, to have a huge global following.

To be popular, WITH EVERYONE.

Wouldn't they ?????                   :o

.....all of those 'precious', fragile, 'snowflake', lemmings.

That is what they are !

There is no god OUTSIDE everything that IS, playing dice with what IS. So prayer is not speaking to a god outside ALL (which cannot possibly exist) but, rather, is a speaking INTO the world (in which god dwells, to speak poeto-mystically)
Is there value in speaking into the world? Of course there is. Is that prayer? Well, no. It's still good, though, if done well:



Spinoza writes:
“Whatever is, is in God, and nothing can exist or be conceived without God.”

Throughout his text, Spinoza was keen to undermine the idea of prayer. In prayer, an individual appeals to God to change the way the universe works. But Spinoza argues that this is entirely the wrong way around. The task of human beings is to try to understand how and why things are the way they are – and then accept it, rather than protest at the workings of existence by sending little messages up into the sky.

As Spinoza put it, beautifully but rather caustically:
“Whosoever loves God cannot strive that God should love him in return.”
In other words, only naive (but perhaps rather touching)  narcissism would lead someone at once to believe in a God who made the eternal laws of physics and then to imagine that this same God would take an interest in bending the rules of existence to improve his or her life in some way.

Prayer can be a very powerful thing.


I'm finding it next to impossible to pray for anyone who posts on OzPit.

I just can't. I look at what they post and I think there's no way that person deserves my prayer.

And it upsets me that I can't pray for them. I do however find myself praying for their families because I feel sorry for them. How do women and children live with some of the disturbed cyber multi trolls who live here 24/7 under so many fake aliases?

Behind all these multi troll cyber junkie ids which come online to flame and troll there's a real disturbed individual who clearly isn't coping with real life. And the collateral damage is borne by the women and children who are around them.

That totally breaks my heart!  These women and kids deserve better. So yeah I pray for these individuals. I pray that angels come to encourage them, comfort them and protect them. This is how I pray for all my kids actually. My neighbours and colleagues etc.

I just can't pray for the posters who I see on OzPol addicted to multi trolling and flaming. 😩

Some men have concluded, that; "This life is a search for meaning."


For myself, i recognise that the Jewish Tanakh and the Christian scriptures, are [human] documents which contain lots, and lots, of affirmations.

Affirmations which help my psyche to grasp-hold-of, 'some' meaning, in this life.


affirmation = =
1. the act of affirming or the state of being affirmed; assertion.
2. something declared to be true; a positive statement or judgment.
3. a statement intended to provide encouragement, emotional support, or motivation, especially when used for the purpose of autosuggestion.
4. the assertion that the testimony one gives is true and equivalent to that which would be given while under oath.




AND YET....
Some [or many !] persons [in human culture in this 'modern age'] do not care for many of those particular 'affirmations',
which can be found everywhere, within the Jewish Tanakh and within Christian scriptures.

AND YET....
But, along with many, many other persons alive today, i do.

How so ?

Because for me [and those other individuals, i assume] those scriptures,
when we examine them,
present to us, 'an answer' to "our search for meaning",
as individuals.

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14  For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

I'm one of those 'naive persons' [even a little narcissistic ?  [smile]  ], because i see i recognise throughout scripture that MY God declares that He,
does love those who do love Him [i.e. love God's righteous character].
....even, as a parent, would love his child.

I thought Monk may have been (given he's as old as my parents who are no longer with us). 

I realise now I was wrong about him too.

You get to the point in life where you give up on certain people and just move on. They no longer matter. At all.

I pray to my God every day, and i ask his spirit to guide me.

I thank my God every day, that his spirit has led me to find the blessings which i enjoy in my life.

I pray to my God every day and i ask the spirit of God, to protect me, in my daily life.

One man died an unbeliever whilst in the process of dying. He adamantly refused salvation.

(Bobby....I know the Bible back to front. I taught scripture for many years. And I was a Youth Group Leader at church).

It's not all about knowledge though. It's about faith. I guess I'm slowly accepting that many people here aren't worth it. They're lost souls living lost lives and they have no hope. No hope in this life and no hope after this life.

No!!! It's important to note that when Jesus lay dying on the cross even then only 1 CHOSE to believe. That thief was saved.

The other one was exactly like Frodo and Monk. Even at Death's door....they will CHOOSE to die in total and complete unbelief. And that will be their last wrong decision in this life. And the consequences of course will be eternally devastating.

I'll be honest with you Bobby....I don't believe they deserve Heaven. A permanent ban from there is their well earned reward.

Never assume that humans have no agency. They do.

Father de Meo, an exorcist of 64 years' standing from Foggia, Apulia, south-eastern Italy, says prayer is the key to establishing what ails a presented person.

The exorcist will typically say a “prolonged prayer to the point where if the adversary [demon] is present, there's a reaction,” he told the Catholic News Agency .

Where the hell do you get your statistics from? A Wheetbix packet? Most serious research in this area puts the percent of those who practice male/male sex as over 30%, a proportion of which are bi-sexual.

Am I the only person left on this seriously God forsaken website who still believes in praying for our families, friends and each other?


If prayer works then why do children continue to die from cancer? Is it because they didn't pray hard enough?


We're ALL dying/going to die at some stage and for some reason.

We have trouble accepting our mortality.

Prayer is a form of communication. And it does work.

It's the contents of said communication that's the issue. Along with our expected time frames in having our prayers answered.

I would argue that most religious people DO believe in an interventionist God. It is the whole reason for this thread.

There are those that "pray" and "give thanks" on the sporting field at key points of a game.
This always raises the question of what sort of God allows children to die, be tortured and raped, yet intervenes to allow some sports person to kick a goal or score a century.
It truly is a case of cognitive dissonance

Well, i've seen his intervention in my life.

He [His spirit] has kept my safe, throughout my life, even when i've done some very 'careless' things, or been in some perilous situ's.

But now, day, to day, it is 'pretty quiet'.

And no, i haven't seen any great lightening bolts, smiting the wicked [....not yet].

Scripture [God's own WORD ! ] says that HE is a God who hides himself, but also, that he will aid those who love him.

In scripture, God throws down a challenge to every one us, and says to test Him, if he is a faithful God.

If you are lost, and depressed, about what is going on in YOUR OWN life.....then pray to Him.

Ask Him !!, for help.     .....but with your penitent heart.

Isaiah 55:6
Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7  Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

That, seems like a pretty good deal to me !!
