The judiciary is an entirely different branch of government from the bureaucracy.
Wandering off topic a bit but the privatisation of the bureaucracy has induced more corruption and vast expense to the taxpayer than you can shake a stick at.

The criminal was given the nod some time before his release.

Obviously he had the judge in his pocket and only had to hand over a few dollars.

Our courts are full of criminals......on both sides of the bench.

This system is designed to rake in money from honest people.

Criminals just get a slap on the wrist and let off.

I guess judges are just like any other public service, go for the wage earners who have to pay.
And let the criminals keep the courts in "work" so they can pretend they are not simply another revenue machine.

You get bigger fines for going a couple of kilometres over some draconian speed limit than you get for bashing an old lady senseless.

If you have enough money, from criminal activities or whatever.

The courts will give you a nice easy bail out.

But dont ever be an honest person who makes a mistake, judges hate honest people, it galls them that they are honest.
