White man's burden...
Take up the White Man's burden— Send forth the best ye breed— Go bind your sons to exile To serve your captives' need; To wait in heavy harness On fluttered folk and wild— Your new-caught, sullen peoples, Half devil and half child. Take up the White Man's burden— In patience to abide, To veil the threat of terror And check the show of pride; By open speech and simple, An hundred times made plain. To seek another's profit, And work another's gain. Take up the White Man's burden— The savage wars of peace— Fill full the mouth of Famine And bid the sickness cease; And when your goal is nearest The end for others sought, Watch Sloth and heathen Folly Bring all your hopes to nought. Take up the White Man's burden— No tawdry rule of kings, But toil of serf and sweeper— The tale of common things. The ports ye shall not enter, The roads ye shall not tread, Go make them with your living, And mark them with your dead! Take up the White Man's burden— And reap his old reward: The blame of those ye better, The hate of those ye guard— The cry of hosts ye humour (Ah, slowly!) toward the light:— "Why brought ye us from bondage, Our loved Egyptian night?" Take up the White Man's burden— Ye dare not stoop to less Nor call too loud on Freedom To cloak your weariness; By all ye cry or whisper, By all ye leave or do, The silent, sullen peoples Shall weigh your Gods and you. Take up the White Man's burden— Have done with childish days— The lightly proffered laurel, The easy, ungrudged praise. Comes now, to search your manhood Through all the thankless years, Cold-edged with dear-bought wisdom, The judgment of your peers! Can you IMAGINE Australia asking cannibals - PNG, Solomons, Fiji etc- to assist with rioting by the ACTU? |

Funny - I was thinking last night - re my post that the West needed to industrialise and make into trading partners other groups to now counter-balance the failed experiment with taking China into the League of Extraordinary Capitalism - about Pacific Islands and such....
Again - an easy, non-polluting source of energy is required.... along with local labour.... At least the Solomanis have the balls left to stack up against Chinese 'assertiveness' - read 'silent invasion'...... no such thing as a free dim sim lunch.... with fly lie and *beef shor' sou', OK? *damn - every time I see that de-animalising term 'beef' I feel guilty over eating that steak.... but I love it... even I have my failings......... at least the kookas, maggies, currawongs and minahs I feed here know I'm not going to eat them.... compensatory behaviour ...... they don't wonder about the meat scraps I feed them or anything else.... behold, the birds of the field labour not with their consciences..... |

The Solomon Islands is an insignificant country not worth Australia spending money on.
The current population of the Solomon Islands is 710,258 as of Tuesday, November 23, 2021 and the poverty rate in 2005 was 88.5%, and its probably even higher now. Another future source of refugees for Australia. |

Why? & so what? You're all for that sort of thing. The problem in the Solomons is the Chinese. The Malaitans have actually got this right .... their Prime Minister has sold them out into the Chinese debt trap. Quote:
If Australia is their "best friend" why is he selling out to the Chinese? Chinese activity in the Solomons, PNG, Fiji & other Pacific Island nations has been a bone of contention & worry to the Australian govt for some time. They are not to be trusted. |

In 1941-45 the Japanese failed to disconnect AustNewz from America - the Chinese have obviously read their history books.

No; but the Mogul empire, who had built eg the Taj Mahal in India in c.1630, were not cannibals; and when Clive beat the remnants of this empire at Plassey in 1757, the battle might have gone either way. (Apparently Clive covered his cannon with tarpaulins during a rainstorm, while the Indians failed to do so.....). Hence the beginning of British rule in India. Kipling ignores the fact that the Taj Mahal displays the same technological mastery as St Pauls in London built 40 years later than the Taj. "your new-caught, sullen peoples",.....not applicable to the Moguls. "And check the show of pride";....I hope Kipling didn't look in the mirror..... "Watch Sloth and heathen Folly" but don't look at the workhouses in London and floating prisons on the Thames..... "The blame of those ye better, The hate of those ye guard—", yeh, right, like the East India Company arbitrarily imposing taxes on the locals and offending local customs. "White man's burden".......acquired by his own greed. |

Why didn't they get the Chinks to go in with their peace force seeings as though they own them now, maybe they still will, the Australian and Chinese peace forces working together as one for the good of the Pacific peoples.

The USA, via their CIA, funded and empowered many Dictators around the world from Saddam to Pinochet and more - all to keep their nations weak, for the benefit of USA national security BS.
If Australia had sold Grain Corp to the USA - after 3 years of flowers, they would have scuttled Grain Corp and weakened Australia on the global market, empowering their own. Our PM's would have turned a blind eye. They're USA dictators too - Gillard couldn't wait to get her applause in the USA for doing their dirty work and calling all Australian men as mysoginists, etc. PM's are sell-outs. Chances are that the Solomon's are kept weak as a nation by their Political leaders on behalf of Australia. I mean, Paul Keating sought Real Estate benefits in Vanuatu thanks to the local Pollies on the PK payroll. Locals who 'owned' the lands, were not happy. Poor Solomon's - being pulled apart and abused by the Politics of other nations. |

The Prime Minister of the Solomon Islands has fingered Australia.
Three Chinese people were murdered by the mob instigated by Australian spooks. Australia is playing with fire instigating such hate against the Chinese and whoever Uncle Sam demands. https://www.axios.com/solomon-islands-unrest-30bb7af6-d3d0-41a0-b354-f61f1ebfa783.html |

Three Chinese murdered by the mob is not trivial.
The US has triggered a Geopolitical campaign of hate against China and no good will come of that. When such a hate campaign is started it may never stop and may snowball into armed conflict. |

The Chinese cartel has been on a campaign to become the overlord of Pacific nations for many years.
Each nation has a vote in the UN, so the multiple micro-nations of the Pacific accumulate. But, obviously more valuable than that, is the possibility that at least some might entertain a large Chinese cartel military and economic presence in their respective territories. But first thing's first... Cartel debt-trapping and other nation hostage operations must be completed. |

For once, I'll agree with LTYC. The USA is trying to ramp up spooking every nation against China. They did it with their 'Weapons of Mass Destruction' propaganda and fear-mongering. For the historical record - a Boat full of Chinese illegals landed on the Solomon Islands long ago and out of the 200 Chinese, all were EATEN, except just two boys who were considered too scrawny. :P |

The Chinese cartel is doing a better job of that themselves than foreign actors. The pandemic has opened our eyes to the extent and depth of its true threat. |
Title: Re: Anti Chinese protests Solomon Islands Post by JaSin. on Nov 28th, 2021 at 8:15am
Maybe the real threat is Politics.
Be it USA Politics or Chinese Politics - its really Politics that is the threat to this world. |

Politics does not live independently of the mind. The real problem is the Chinese cartel and its rampant corruption. There is not a single government body or private corporation that is not wholly corrupted under the Chinese cartel. Corruption is the currency under the cartel. |

The CCP doesn't have weapons of mass destruction and is threatening to use them? That's a relief... they was just joshing when they said they'd nuke Sy-den-ey, then? Such a relief to know they are not really trying to confront their immediate neighbours with island building and an aggressive stance and so forth.
That's good to hear... Cambra now... there could be some meat for thought there... I notice the media don't give much coverage to all the past appeasers, who reckoned we'd do so well out of a deal that incorporated us into Asia... apart from Keating, who hoists himself on his own petard every time he opens his mouth... ... the above pertinent comment brought to you by a once-Labour running dog who paid for his support of the Union and his mates as an unpaid delegate on the job and was given the arse by his own Union mates to support affirmative action as per Leftism.... ...... insult me once, more fool me... insult me twice... unleash the dragon .......... |
