Title: •• Interesting Maths Questions ••
Post by Lisa Ross on Apr 1st, 2022 at 7:53pm
Here's something interesting :

Why is the number 4 the most important number?

Because everything ultimately comes down to? 4!

Bobby do you agree?

Ok here's another easy question:

Square root of -1?

Hi Lisa,
i squared = -1.

so the answer is i which is called an imaginary number
but in fact is vital to get the correct results in maths.
That's all about complex numbers -
a very important part of maths.

What is the most beautiful expression in maths?
Euler’s formula -
It simplifies very complicated maths and is
essential in engineering and science.
It's one of the first things you learn in maths at Uni
and continues to be used all the way through any maths course.

Do you want my next topic -
the fundamental theorem of arithmetic?
It involves prime numbers.

then

The fundamental theorem of algebra?

then

the fundamental theorem of calculus?

Hi Lisa,
the important maths number e is derived from factorials.

Yes!!! You're right! Ohhh now that took me back to my days where I couldn't put down my Advanced Maths textbooks lol.

Do you believe I still find myself waking up of a morning having had dreams of sitting in Pure Maths lectures at Uni ? I miss those days ....I felt so alive because my brain was constantly being amazed and challenged.

I remember it too.
Do you remember that e is a transcendental number?

Ha! Is this where your Namaste 🙏 comes in 😂?

You know WHY it's called "e" of course!

Euler's number.

Namaste.

I don't agree.

OK - I transferred the important posts over.
At least we are safe here from the trolls.   :)

Thanks Lisa,
you're also a legend.
At Yahoo Politics you were the number one poster.
Those were the days -
I used to talk on Yahoo Chat too.

Oh dear I just answered you in the other topic by accident Bobby. Could you bring that post over here please? Then we can chat here more about mathematics! I mean it's the reason I started the maths topic in the beginning ie to get you in there lol 😝

Hi Lisa,
did you know that the cryptography we use on the internet
for all our banking transactions etc. relies
upon this theorem?
It uses prime number factorization.

My husband knows I'm a winner! I actually made a lot of money in the past 2 years thanks to Covid19 and how it affected real estate in Sydney. Lots of people I know made millions! It was just too easy with such low interest rates. And because it's Sydney and near the water ... even an old house on a 500m2 block of land is EASILY worth $2.5 million. How can you NOT make money ???

In fact the house we've just demolished was bought for $1.7 million and that was a year back. We've torn the house down now as I said and we're waiting for more bedrock to be blasted before finally starting on concrete slab work plus retaining walls. We're building a basement cellar plus man cave plus triple car garaging. Lift access will be from there and will go up to level 1 and level 2. Level 3 will be rooftop garden overlooking district plus water.

I reckon it will be worth more than $5.5 million but meh I'll be happy with that figure too.

Ohh what a shame this forum has no engineers or architects or surveyors. How awesome it would have been to discuss exciting stuff like property developing and how to make money using property. It's really all just mathematics. And I love mathematics.  😎

Never mind.

yes Lisa,
you're a winner however -
I'd sell one of those places quickly in case you can't service the debt.
You'll need money if property values go down.
Remember  we could be on the verge of WW3
and Covid hasn't gone.
Play safe.

Only ordinary people play safe.

I play safe and smart. Think of a game like chess. You have to be a few steps ahead at all times and that means being prepped for any possible scenario.

Which brings us to mathematics once again! Mapping out future possibilities vs probabilities.

There are a number of scenarios to consider (and on
a number of levels). It's almost like staring into a 3D matrix lol.

Anyway let's take these posts back to your place Bobby. It's much more comfortable (and sane) there. 😂🤣😆

Moved here -
you can feel safe here Lisa with the protection of uncle Bobby.

What if interest rates go sky high?
Do you remember them under Keating?
People were struggling to pay the interest and couldn't pay the principal.
