Title: Missile Cruiser Moskva Post by issuevoter on Apr 16th, 2022 at 9:01pm
Everything that comes out of Russian state media is a lie.
They said the missile cruiser was “damaged” and the crew had been “evacuated.” This was modified to “ a fire cause ammunition to explode.” Later modified to “sank while under tow, but was due to be scrapped anyway.” All of this would indicated incompetence in the Russian navy, and a retaliation missile strike shows the story is false, and they know Ukraine sank the Moskva. Three days later, video of a service mourning the loss of Moskva appears, with studied avoidance of the 500 evacuees who were supposed to have survived. Just mourning an old ship about to be scrapped. Here is what probably happened. The Russian navy did not take Ukraine capability seriously, keeping Moskva within range of shore missiles. Two missiles travelling close to sea level strike Moskva in one side. Explosion kills a number of crew and burn others alive. Moskva loses power almost immediately. Orders given to abandon ship. It is not an orderly “evacuation.” Attempts by consort to take Moskva in tow fail due to explosions. Engine room raw water intakes rupture. Ship begins to settle slowly until holes in the side reach water level the following day. Moskva then fills rapidly on the strike side followed by capsize and sinking. Putin passes a kidney stone the size of a golf ball. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPTQXKJyAHU |

The russian army is mostly incompetent, unmotivated conscripts. I don’t know what their navy is like but you would think only competent crew would be allowed on a missile cruiser.
PS: why do the press talk of battleships??? None in active service anymore! |

Like I said, everything that comes from Rus State media is a lie. On the 14th they said there was a fire on Moskva and the crew got off. Here is a satellite image of an enormous explosion on the 13th. The story about being under tow is fiction. She blew up on impact, and Putin had the Admiral of the fleet arrested.

I saw on a Youtube video that I didn't save -
that the Moskva had 3 layers of missile defence. All 3 layers failed or some weren't working or they weren't switched on. There were also 2 Ukrainian drones close by the ship at the time. Putin will have a lot of questions for those in charge to answer. |

Yes Monk,
that agrees with what I learned. Putin will have a lot of questions for those in charge to answer. |

putin should ask himself some questions first! But autocrats/dictators do not do self-reflection well.

putin will just sling one or two officers in jail, not find out why his military is so ineffective, good only at shelling apartment buildings and schools when the Ukrainians cannot fire back.

I play Red Alert 3 from time to time. One of the things you do with your cruise missile ships is to have other maritime ships nearby in case the enemy gets too close for the cruise ship to defend itself. What is going on with the Russian military? Hopefully, they are having second thoughts about their invasion and will come to end their campaign in Ukraine.

It is obvious to the entire world that Russia has only one thing going for it: armament manufacture. And that has been slowed to a crawl. In a field campaign, the US would flatten them like Desert Storm.

As I understand it the drones were used as decoys and the Russians swung the defence to them. leaving themselves open for the missile attack.

right, yes, I can see that happening. If the russians do not defend themselves against the drones, the drones will win. very good |

Totally agree. His 'advisors' learnt a long tome ago, you do not bring bad news to the Tsars table. That is where a democracy (even not a good democracy) has an innate advantage. In a democracy, differing points of view are constantly arising. |

A “loyal” Opposition likewise plays a valuable part. One of the things plaguing the Confederates was the lack of such “Loyal Opposition.” Just no way for alternative viewpoints to be expressed. Jefferson Davis leaving Braxton Bragg in command of the armies at Chattanooga after the fruitless victory at Chickamauga being one such stupid decision due to lack of an effective Opposition Party. When Maj Gen Patrick Cleburne, the Confederacy’s single most effective divisional commander submitted a well-argued paper on arming slaves to fight for the Confederacy the paper was buried and Cleburne never advanced beyond divisional command (he was killed in the suicidal battle of Franklin–the result of another “brilliant” decision by Davis to replace cautious, skilful J E Johnston with reckless John Bell Hood in command of the Army of Tennessee. Hood lost Atlanta to William Tecumse Sherman.) |

Morons the loss of the old cruiser is insignificant compared to the loss of half the territory.
;D |

Oh no, it was a huge blow to the already low morale of the russo-fascists invading Ukraine.
