Title: Body Modifier Jailed For 10 Years

A self-proclaimed extreme body modification artist has been sentenced
to 10 years in jail over the death of a NSW woman he discouraged from
seeking medical help for an infected implant.

In 2021 Brendan Leigh Russell was found guilty in the NSW District Court
of manslaughter, female genital mutilation and intentionally causing
grievous bodily harm.

The offences relate to procedures on three separate women, including one
who died from septicaemia after Russell inserted a snowflake-shaped
implant in her right hand. He discouraged her from seeking medical help
for the infected implant. One of the other women had her labia excised,
and experienced pain for 12 months following the procedure, which made
her unable to use tampons or wear underwear.

The answer to that?

Russell was considered a “god” by his victim, when she had the
implantation procedure done in his parlour on the NSW Central Coast.
He later performed a second procedure on the woman, reopening the
wound and repositioning the implant, stitching it back up despite blood
and pus rushing out, and the dark discolouration of her hand. He advised
against seeing a medical practitioner.

On the evening of her death from sepsis stemming from the infection,
he again told her not to worry and to simply take medication.

While I feel some sympathy for the victim, how could she have been so stupid? As much her own fault as the so called 'body modifier'.

Brendan Russell told his now-wife there were no qualifications in his field,
as health authorities investigated the death of a patient.

The Sydney District Court heard a recording of a phone call between Russell
and his wife Maria about a year after the patient's death and days after Health
Care Complaints Commission placed restrictions on his business activities.

"There's no such thing as qualifications in it," the body modifier said in the 2018
call. "It goes off how good your work is."

The Court previously heard Russell had only held certificates in piercing,
aftercare and maintaining infection control standards in an office setting.

He is on a watch list of the body that oversees cyber-bullying and has form, and his instant demise on two occasions would appear to be from them.

As for Old Mate Smith - he took a twelve month suspension not that long ago and has learned next to nothing. Freediver can say without fear of contradiction that I actually asked that Smith be forgiven because I'd never seen him as so bad - when Smith came back he instantly bit the finger that unfccked him.

Shows something lacking upstairs... twisted little man... twisted moral compass and clearly he left something behind at the hospital when he was brought home ...

When dear old mothra stops attempting to use insult - such as constant references to 'old man' as if that is somehow diminishing that person, and constantly repeated that discussing anything for her is like playing chess with pigeons etc.... and similar comments - she might find that she get along much better with decent, ordinary people.
