Pakistani guards almost always made the situation worse, Indian guards better.

Culture matters in the human art form known as security.

Maoris are the best guards.

Big and fearful looking but easy going.

I like working with Maoris.

When I lived in Italy, I admired how almost to a man and woman they put their friendships and family over their working life.

When I lived in Japan I admired their dedication to a greater society, and yet sense of humour having to live that.

When I lived in Saudi Arabia, I admired nothing about the intolerant testosterone intoxicated, superstitious fantastical place.

Culture matters.

When I lived in Australia, I learned to take the piss out of myself and see land that mocks your human sense of time.
