God I certainly hope it is.

Note : You will need to listen and watch this to the very end. If you don't shed a tear after this then your heart is made of stone.

It's sooo beautiful.

Judith at her best.

Not sure we need a new anthem though this would be a very good one.

I don't like it.

Keep -   Advance Australia Fair.

Our current anthem resembles "Mary had a little lamb".

I think most of us could do better than "We are Australian".

"Advance Australia Fair" is a terrible, unrepresentative anthem for such
a young country.  It's reminiscent of a funeral dirge, and was written by
a Scotsman FFS.  "Girt by sea"???

At least it's preferable to the embarrassing "God Save the Queen" with
it's kowtowing to the monarch of another country.

I'd vote for "We Are Australian" with a few amendments to some of the
phrasing, plus shortening it to a couple of minutes for sporting events etc.
It also lends itself perfectly to full orchestration as per:

In general, it is easy to throw away traditions. But by their definition, they cannot be replaced. New tradition is a contradiction. National anthems are usually pretty boring, and a new one will be no better. I cringe when I hear "I still call Australia home" as much as "Tie me kangaroo down, sport." And don't get me started on "Waltzing Matilde," a song about suicide as if it were a glorious act. There was nothing "jolly" about that swagman.

We are one but we are going to have a minority lobby group enshrined in the constitution?  :D

I'd have to disagree.  Out of date, period irrelevant, so-called "traditions" can
and should be overhauled where necessary—particularly when more up to date
and socially appropriate alternatives arise.

In 2011, Australian Education Union Victorian branch president Mary Bluett
asked secondary school students what "girt" meant, and not one could answer
or even make a guess.

You've obviously not heard La Marseillaise, The Star Spangled Banner, or the Russian State Anthem.

Which surprises me.  That you conflate these two songs which are totally
different in concept; their musicality, lyricism and delivery are like the proverbial
chalk and cheese.

So... what would you suggest as our new national anthem, were it voted for?
