I'm no fan of Rinehart however I agree with her decision here. The precious, woke netball girls have learned a harsh but necessary lesson. Pity it will affect everyone, not just the whinging virtue signallers, but they can now explain to all the other players why they they will most likely have to stop being full time professionals and have to seek other jobs. ::)

If the Abo on the Diamonds has issue with Hancock Prospecting, would it not be better to have a relationship with them in some form? Maybe she could have sat down with Gina and discussed any current issues, got to know her, maybe lobby her company to hire more abbos?

To my mind, the outcome from all of this that would have been best for everybody would have been for Gina to distance her company from her repulsive father's comments.

Could have been a win all round. Not to mention a fabulous opportunity for positive PR and bridge building.

Someone went digging for the comment made 40 yrs ago by Laing Hancock.

All those players weren't even born.

What should have been considered is that Aboriginals in WA have benefitted through royalties & employment opportunities in the Iron ore industry pioneered by Laing Hancock.

Now there are other iron ore mining companies operating & doing likewise for Aboriginals like FMG & Twiggy Forrest.

The woman(& I don't like her for other reasons) is not responsible for the thoughts/sins of her father.

Mr Wolf said there had been “much criticism” of Ms Rineheart because Lang Hancock was her father.

“Since when do we judge someone because of who their parents are or were or what they said?” he wrote.

“In spite of the negative headlines, Madalah’s experience has been that Mrs Rinehart is a kind and generous person who genuinely cares about Madalah and its Indigenous students.

“Mrs Rinehart should be applauded for her generous sponsorship of Netball Australia, Madalah and a host of other very worthy causes that desperately need financial support which she supports without fanfare.

“While others have criticised her from the sidelines, she does deeds with a good heart. Actions always speak louder than words.”

Doping the water is not on, but he is 100% correct in his assumptions of half casts.

The mayor is spot on. Yourself and Brian Ross are fine exmaples.

And no, I cannot see one problem in what Gina has done for the local community in mention.
Even if Gina had of said that doping water is not on and she didn't agree with her dad, it still would have seen an unsatisfactory outcome.
Why?
Because of exactly what the mayor says, that's why.
