Yeah, that and the hurting inside, as the social worker says. 
Every time I am hurting inside, I, too, steal a ute and race it around town, driving it straight at the cops. It's human nature, innit. Everyone has the exact same reaction to the hurtin' inside. That and breaking and entering.

Close the education gap - get to school

Close the mortality gap -stop fighting and killing one another and improve your diet

Close the prosperity gap - get out of your evil ways, move your location* and go get a job

Close the imprisonment gap - stop committing crimes that you know will end up with you there

Now then - what other gaps would you like this House to address, while we're at it???

* watching that video and hearing that young girl, and coming from a similar background myself - I do hope she moves away and takes on study for her own future betterment... hardest thing in the world is to break family ties - but when that family is not a real family but a source of your eternal destruction - you just have to leave and make a life of your own away from all those old same mistakes over and over... you know - linking up with some bad guy.... having kids to arseholes etc... living in Housoville and taking onboard all the evils thereof.... sitting around waiting for Big Guv to come  along and make you rich.. give you that big plot of land in the sky ..... hand over some vast swathe so you - as a girl/woman - can be excluded and turned back to 'the old ways' of male dominance and standover and violence.......

Dylan Vollers sister  ;D... making excuses ... many of those kids in Alice don't live there .... they come from remote communities ...like Yuendemu... they're so emboldened because they know that the youth justice system allows it because of it's no responsibility & no punishment policies.

Added to that now is the NT Govt just enacted legislation to raise the age of criminal responsibility from 10 to 14.

Another move that just hides/shuffles the real figures on youth crime & not doing something/anything about it.
