The thermal expansion of water from increased average global temperatures would be countered by more ocean water evaporating and being condensated as rainfall over land areas (that absorb the water for some time). Some article from the early 2010s stated that the average ocean heights dropped by a mere 10mm because of the absorption of heavy rainfall over desert Australian regions.
