Title: Please Have A Safe 2023 Easter Break
Post by Lisa Jones on Apr 6th, 2023 at 11:22am
From another topic (which is relevant to Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday)

In the Bible they used to crucify thieves.   :-?

Lisa Jones wrote on Apr 6th, 2023 at 11:18am:

Yes ... that was what the Roman Empire did around 2000 years ago in order to keep law and order in all the Mediterranean countries they controlled.

They crucified thieves and anyone they deemed was a threat to the stability of the Roman Empire.

In fact that’s why they crucified Jesus Christ. However the Romans were clever in how they went about it. They took the opportunity to pretend to allow the Jews to think they had the power to decide the fate of Jesus Christ. This made the Jews think they had control over legal process.

They didn’t of course.

It was just a mind game of sorts.

The Jews (led by proud and notable religious leaders and lawyers) argued FOR Jesus Christ’s crucifixion.

The Romans essentially responded with a quick “OK - whatever you reckon.”

And that’s how Jesus Christ found himself crucified btwn 2 other crucified thieves.

Those Roman soldiers who were on guard at the crucifixion had front row seats to the whole thing. The Roman soldier/guard nearest Jesus saw and heard everything Jesus uttered as He lay slowly bleeding to death in what has often been described by historians as a horrific and slow torturous method.

Anyway THAT Roman soldier soon realised the senseless brutality of what had taken place AFTER seeing and hearing what Jesus said whilst in so much unbearable pain and agony. The Roman’s remarks whilst on duty are captured in the Bible : Truly this man was indeed the Son of God.

He had a vision of the confronting reality of the event.

It’s a pity many so called Christians today - don’t.

Anyway - have a safe Easter. Please note the Easter we celebrate at this time has nothing to do with Jesus Christ. It’s a pagan festival that the Roman Catholic Church infused into its pagan based religious system in order to appease its citizens at the time so they could control the spread of Christianity under their official Roman rules and regulations. The Roman Catholic Church is merely that. Do not think for a moment it has anything to do with God and Jesus Christ and the Holy Bible. It’s an extension of paganism and only the uneducated and unaware think otherwise.

Whilst at Sydney Uni I undertook some subjects in Ancient History and Bible History. In these areas we were lectured by eminent atheist scholars who had no qualms about telling students what Roman Catholicism was really about and how it originated and framed/controlled History.

Anyway ... apologies for the long post.

Cheers

Are you watching "The Passion of the Christ" tomorrow? I have the DVD. It is the only religious-relevant movie I have in my collection that I would be willing to watch.

The Romans used crucifixion exclusively for the execution of anyone found guilty of sedition against Roman rule.

They did not use crucifixion for common criminals, that is a falsehood made popular by the new testament.

Indeed, an early 1st century composer  of the evolving NT - Marcion - rejected the OT entirely because he perceived Jehovah - "man of war" - was incompatible with Christ, the 'Prince of Peace'.

Catholicism has two strands of course,  based around 'poverty' and 'luxury'.

But as to Jesus Christ, where do you stand on homelessness and unaffordable rents in Oz, the result of the current Oz 'get rich quick' housing ponzi which is locking increasing numbers of people out of home ownership?

Crucifixions generally were for serious crimes in which the perpetrator either died, or did not do what they did again.

When someone is crucified, they are tied with rope to a cross. Then they get planted into the ground upside down and left for some time. After a while, the perpetrator either dies from his invertedness, or he suffers physically and emotionally. If he survives, he is let down to continue his life (humbled). Otherwise, he is left to die.

The idea of putting nails through the wrist and feet was considered barbaric, even for that time period. They also did not want to waste nails on executing people (regardless of whether they could dig the nails out afterwards).

No one was intended to survive crucifixion.

Crucifixion was the most humiliating and painful form of execution used exclusively for sedition against Roman rule.

The victim was fixed to a cross which was planted close to the gates of a town/city so all could witness the suffering of the seditionists, as if their screams of agony would not have been enough.

The cross was also planted such that the victims' feet were low enough to the ground to allow carrion birds and other animals to begin eating the victim alive.

Carrion birds, such as vultures, could perch on the crossbar and begin eating the victim's eyes, ears, face, and arms while they were still alive.

Death could take up to three days, probably extended if the victim's family and friends could muster the courage to avoid any curfew and remain at the cross to scare off carrion animals.

Those condemned who were tied to the cross upright, might well have starved or, more likely, dehydrated in a matter of 3 days. But, there were those that were tied to the cross as a punishment -- not just as an execution.

And another thing. When the soldier pierced Jesus' side and blood and water came out, that is proof of life not death - it meant that there was still vascular activity, so his heart was still beating. If the story is true, he was taken down from the cross alive, not dead.

And it was not the Jewish Sanhedrin who turned Jesus over to be put to death for blasphemy because 'they had no law to put a man to death' - Jewish priests regularly condemned blaspheming Jews to be stoned to death.

He was arrested by Romans for suspected sedition when he entered the temple and disrupted commerce within the temple grounds.

The Romans approved of the custom of buying and selling sacrificial animals and payments of temple tax imposed by the Sanhedrin and saw to it that the trade was prolific as they got a cut. Anyone who disrupted the trade was dealt to by the Roman temple guards.

"Wait till me little brother Hitler gets yas - yar bastards!" >:(

Saw a man yesterday, hanging from a Cross, arms wide.
Another bystander came up to look at the man also.
I said "What do you call that?"
He said "A rotten way to spend Easter." and walked away.

The New Testament of the Holy Bible is an issue for you. And I can tell you why too.

You’ve never read the Bible.

You’ve only seen fit to GOOGLE what OTHERS think they know about it and where you consistently fail is in this particular recurring manner: wherever you’ve seen any anomaly btwn what your sore fingers have fanatically googled and the Holy Bible ... you have immediately jumped to the same wrong conclusion ie the New Testament has to be false/incorrect.

Unfortunately for you oh pagan heathen atheist nominal Catholic ... in order to understand the New Testament you have to read the Old Testament. In short the entire Bible.

And I know 100000% you haven’t. And that’s why I’ve stayed quiet and allowed you to sit in here for many hours to post utter tripe and make an utter fool of yourself to those of us who have read the Holy Bible. In its entirety.

Your level of ignorance must be a real comfort for your blissful existence.

Jesus whipped the money lenders and turned over their tables:

Yes. That was his first and last political act. For that, he was executed as a seditionist by the Romans under the Prefect Pontius Pilate.

Pilate was chosen by Tiberius for the role in the seditious land of Judaea because he was known to be brutal even by Roman standards. Today he would likely have been diagnosed as a psycho-killer.

He washed his hands and sealed his fate.

All Roman records of Pilate record him as one of the most efficient, brutal military seniors of Rome.

He was sent to Judaea to impose Roman rule at any cost.

The idea that Pilate would have wasted more than 10 seconds before condemning Jesus to death is another new testament falsehood.

As an autistic woman who has latched onto the new testament, you're a cast-iron believer. There is little to no evidence of what Jesus said or did, except for 3 almost universally agreed facts: He was born a Jew, he preached about the kingdom of god, and he was executed for sedition against Rome.

The rest was a concocted story as the basis for a religion of the slave.

"The Passion of the Christ"  is not on TV this year.

Even if it was not, the question pertains to people that get Blu Rays or DVD copies of the movie to watch. Or it could be a Netflix viewing.

Isn’t this just beautiful?

From the above link ... a little portion :

What is the meaning of Good Friday?

Good Friday refers to the day on which Jesus, the Son of God, died on a cross. Good Friday is significant because it was the first step in reconciling the world and humanity to its creator – God, having been separated from him through their sinful nature.

Jesus’ death was a sacrifice for everyone who would ever live so that they can have a close relationship with God. It’s an overwhelmingly great act of love!

After Jesus died, his body was placed in a tomb, but he didn’t stay there. He rose back to life – which is what we celebrate on Easter Sunday.

Irrespective of the fact that the actual date is incorrect .... the meaning behind Easter is just as real and just as relevant as the very Easter.

Greggary - God created us with free will. That means we all have the prerogative to accept or reject Jesus Christ.

But just be very careful. You have no idea who might be quietly praying for you.

Note : Don’t worry Greggary ... I’m not singling you out here... the same may be said for many others who post with me on OzPol.

And yes ... I do often pray for you all (esp those who I fight a lot with).

Anyway I’ll leave it at that.

Good night.

So this is yet ANOTHER thread derailed by a silly toing and froing
that has NOTHING to do with the topic at hand.

I've mentioned this sort of deliberately disruptive, childish behaviour
in the past, but the admin/mods have again chosen to ignore it.

I dunno why?

This sort of practice is not only an annoyance to people genuinely
responding to the OP, but it makes our entire forum look stupid,
unworthy of attention by passersby, and may explain why so few
of the 3,640 bother to partake in debates.

At the moment we have only six members online, which is fairly
average for any day of the week.   And the most ever number of
members online—42, was nearly ten years ago.

Anyway...

Our Easter long weekend will be enjoyed at home;  ain't going

The Easter rabbit, and the egg, are Pagan symbols of springtime rejuvenation, during April in the Northern hemisphere. Christmas is also the appropriation of the Pagan mid-winter festival.

When, people like the Christian disciples spread their religion in the first century Anno Domini, they had to overcome Pagan traditions, and it was easier to appropriate existing festivals. Even today, people don't really care what a holiday is for.

As for a man actually rising from the dead, believe it if you can or need to, but Christians had to come up with a gimmick if they were going to hold the attention of Pagans. It is evident that early Christians did not believe the teachings of their leader were catchy enough.

Of course, they did succeed in establishing a religion in Europe, partly due to some excellent principles, Unfortunately, a large percentage of so-called Christians have only paid lip-service to those principles as history shows.

Eostre is the Goddess who was celebrated at the Spring Equinox, whose favourite was the hare ... or bunny if you like.

She is the Goddess of new life and rebirth.

Christians stole it all. And tortured and burned anyone at the stake who talked back.

More like the early Christian writers were competing with other religions of the time, where miraculous births, the performing of miracles and deification were almost universal with regard to the founder. Even Caesars were deified.

And even Israel (those who struggle with El - Yahweh) understood that other gods existed. The first commandment - 'I am the Lord, your god, You shall have no strange gods before me', is not a denial that other gods existed, it is a revelation that Yahweh is a jealous god, but still one of many.

Islam, on the other hand, declares outright 'There is no god but Allah'.

Jesus message was not all-inclusive.

It was a simplistic reversal of fortunes message - The last shall be first, the rich shall be poor, the meek take all. There was no answer to what happens after the reversal of fortunes when the newly rich themselves start acting in the same way as the formerly rich and the meek develop a chip on their shoulder.

You still need a fictional entity to make the rules up as you all go along - even through Science where $$$ is the 'fact'.

What do I believe in?
Gaia (Life).

So - on the one hand JC is a fictitious character built five hundred years later and way out of context - on the other he was all those things?

I thought he was making a fair claim for the crown of Israel, given that he was direct lineage from David... just another palace coup that went wrong...

Funny what people choose to believe - it's always some mish-mash ...

Cheers

For those reading this topic and may not know :

Marcion was a gnostic who was responsible for starting a sect. He essentially cherry picked bits and pieces of the entire Holy Bible and the resultant synthesis formed the basis of his sect’s views.

I’ve had previous online encounters with others about Marcion. These encounters consisted of discussing aspects of his “brand” of theology.

Bringing this post back on topic : Marcion didn’t believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Given NotsoGreat has stated that he identifies with Marcion, he has in fact volunteered the admission that he too doesn’t believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

That’s fine. The Bible ( Old AND New Testaments) disagrees with both you AND Marcion. Incidentally Marcion knew this so he tried to get around that by writing his own amended Bible which essentially tore out all the Old Testament and most of the New Testament).

That's correct. It seems more rational, in this scientific age,  to accept Jesus was a man...and a remarkable teacher.: "love God and love one another"...

In that, I part from Marcion who saw Jesus  - who lived on earth for c. 30 years - as a mere apparition of God, and who therefore did not die on the cross.

But both of us are united in rejecting the repulsive "jealous" bronze-age  OT god, given to authorizing genocide to advance his "chosen" tribe.

Quote:

Addressed above. The OT (Jewish 'bible') + NT (Christian writings) - together forming  the Christian "Bible" -   are a schizophrenic mess,  responsible for much of the chaos in the ME today, with Christian 'rapturers' (like Pompeo) waiting for the destruction of the Islamic mosque on the Jewish  Temple Mount  (in the battle of Armageddon), signifying the return of Christ...

Yes, as I already noted. Marcion's Bible ie his version of an early NT, rejected the OT entirely.

Marcion remained widely followed for several centuries until his NT was pronounced heretical by church authorities who had no problem with a genocidal god as part of the 'Holy Trinity'.

Nearly all of what Jesus is purported to have taught was not original - it was from Jewish teachings, including Hillel's summary of the Torah: “That which is hateful unto you, do not do to your neighbour. This is the whole of the Torah; the rest is commentary".

And Hillel was paraphrasing Leviticus 19:18 "Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself".

No.

Jesus did not revolutionise the teachings of the Torah or Talmud (there was no Old Testament in his time). All the purported original teachings and most life events of Jesus were reimagined (in the way Plato did with Socrates) about 60 to 100 years after his death.

Evangelising to non-Jews was Paul's self-appointed mission. Jesus did not preach for the sake of converting non-Jews to Judaism or anything else. Jesus, himself, of course, was not a Christian and did not call himself one. He was born, lived and died a devout Jew.

1. Jesus did not revolutionise the teachings of the Torah or Talmud (there was no Old Testament in his time). All the purported original teachings and most life events of Jesus were reimagined (in the way Plato did with Socrates) about 60 to 100 years after his death.

2. Evangelising to non-Jews was Paul's self-appointed mission. Jesus did not preach for the sake of converting non-Jews to Judaism or anything else. Jesus, himself, of course, was not a Christian and did not call himself one. He was born, lived and died a devout Jew.

Jesus did not depart from Judaism but quite radically put the emphasis within it on things outside the power of the Jewish clergy, the Sanhedrin, which then had the Roman governor crucify him. Jesus spoke in parables about this new emphasis, away from the primacy of the Law to the primacy of Love. A clergy can administer and regulate the Law, but not Love.
It was then Paul who articulated what such a different emphasis would mean to Jews and gentiles and concluded that Love could not exclude the gentiles because such exclusion would be in obedience to the Law. Paul opened the door to the gentiles to what Jesus opened it for the Jews.

Jesus did not preach against the law (as evidenced by James' following Jesus' ministry with his insistence that Gentiles become Jews first and conform to Mosaic law before joining the assembly) Jesus did rail against the corruption of the Temple priestly class with his first shall be last, rich shall be poor (etc) sermons.

Paul's problem was that he was preaching to non-Jews who generally could not submit to Mosaic law, in particular, circumcision and the dietary laws, and began to preach that belief in Jesus as the Messiah - the Christ - was all that was needed for salvation. This led to clashes with the Jerusalem assembly, led by James, and ultimately to Paul's arrest and subsequent execution in Rome.

Paul denigrated those who knew Jesus 'in the flesh' as subordinate to him as he had met 'the risen Christ' in spirit.

I can tell you know nothing of the history of Christianity. If you read any of Acts you absorbed none of it... But, then, you're autistic so it's no surprise.

What we know of Christianity's earliest historicity we know almost exclusively from Acts and Paul's letters as Jesus wrote nothing. Paul was literate and a prolific writer. He also fell out with James (the brother of Jesus) for preaching heresy against the teachings of the Jerusalem assembly that continued Jesus' ministry.

Only ignorant twats like yourself ascribe Christianity's foundation to Jesus - it was almost exclusively the work of Paul - every cleric knows this because it is inarguable.

You'd know that if you'd read and absorbed anything from Acts.

Now, back to your obsessing over washing and catching Reggie out as a multi-id husband

Absolutely 100% correct! I can’t find anything wrong in the above post. I honestly can’t.

Meister Bwian on the other hand .... can’t seem to post anything that’s correct. It’s most bizarre.

What a shame we haven’t seen nice n normal people like John Tavener or Sprint in here. 😔

No that’s incorrect. In fact your words prove that you read/rely on Googled information at the expense of reading the actual Bible.

The facts are as follows: Whilst Jesus confirmed many Old Testament teachings He absolutely revolutionised them also. Moreover Jesus opened the door of Heaven to ALL people by bridging the gap which existed btwn us and God. And He did so through His death and resurrection from death.

No.

1. Jesus did not revolutionise the teachings of the Torah or Talmud (there was no Old Testament in his time). All the purported original teachings and most life events of Jesus were reimagined (in the way Plato did with Socrates) about 60 to 100 years after his death.

1. Incorrect. Stop Googling!

2. Incorrect. Stop Googling!

You are an obsessed autistic twat.

You know little to nothing of Christian history.

Stick to obsessive washing, cooking and cleaning.

Unlike you:

1. I know, love, cherish and respect my Christian faith and the Holy Bible.

2. I’ve had 40 years of instruction.

3. I became a Christian myself at the age of 10.

4. I’ve read the Holy Bible in its entirety some 12 times.

5. I don’t need to refer to Google to teach me anything about Christianity or the Holy Bible. You do.

6. I could effortlessly chew you up and spit you out in less than 5 minutes if you ever dared to confront me face to face about my Heavenly Father God and/or His Son Jesus Christ.

7. I’ve taught Sunday School for many yrs.

8. I’ve led church youth groups for many yrs.

9. I wasn’t born into a religious family. I was born into a humble Christian family. In fact I owe my knowledge and skills and devotion wrt all things pertaining to God, family, children, cleaning, cooking, washing, gardening, keeping finances under control and home-making in general to my beautiful Christian European mother who came to this country as a frightened teenager in the mid 1960’s with absolutely nothing (not even basic English skills) but her Bible and her faith in God.

10. Most importantly of all though (and unlike you I’m not afraid to tell you this under the 1 ID I use on OzPol either) : I have hope for today and an eternal hope and assurance of where I’m going after I die. You have no idea. You have no hope. You have nothing. Less than nothing in fact. And THAT is why your life is defined by what others tell you via your manic googling efforts. Ultimately this proves that you ...yes you are the self projecting twat in all our interactions.

One last thing : You throw the word “autistic” flippantly about like it’s an obscene derogatory term. Guess what pal. It’s not. And every time you do that I realise that you’re probably self projecting yet another issue you’ve not been able to deal with in life. And for all this you have my pity.

Thanks Bobby. You and I go back many years ... way back to our Yahoo days.

In all honesty though ...for me this interaction with Bwian (he’s using the Meister id atm) isn’t about knowledge. For Bwian however ... it’s only ever been that.

For me it’s been my way of life. In real time my Christian faith is very well known and respected by those around me. From neighbours to family to friends to colleagues....they all know they cannot ever cross me on God, Jesus and the Holy Bible.

It’s a defining aspect of my personality and it shapes how I interact with them. So when I do get texts or calls by those who I know and they require help or just someone to talk to about something...they know I will immediately pray for them because I will tell them that. They know I will probably drop a Bible verse of inspiration or instruction in what I share with them.

The amazing thing about all this? It matters not if I’m dealing with a Christian, an Agnostic, an Atheist or a Muslim ...they all respect my desire to pray for them and they even thank me for it. Which brings me to my own dear confused husband. He’s a little bit like our Bwian here ... thinks he knows everything but knows SFA. And just like Bwian he’s also stuck on the atheist/agnostic see saw.

Yet even my own husband (of course only when stuff goes a tad wrong and he feels vulnerable/unsure) quietly crawls up to me like a little boy to ask me if I can pray to God for him about a certain matter. Of course I do as I don’t like seeing the man so worried.

My kids do the same (but they’re MY kids and as such they’re covered by my faith and prayers and they know their ancestors were not monkeys) ...come up to me when things get a tad tricky and ask for a quiet word and some prayer support.

I guess what I’m trying to highlight to you is this: God/Jesus/The Bible etc is not about knowledge...it’s about nurturing a growing relationship that has the capacity to draw in others through Biblical principles like faith, prayer and acts of love, care, concern and regard.

Notice how I never mentioned Google? That’s because you don’t need to know about Google in order to know about God/Jesus/the Holy Bible. It’s far easier and more accurate if you bypass Google and come the direct route.

My eyes actually widened when I read that she "became" a Christian at 10 years of age. I think I stopped being a Christian at 9 years of age. Then I became an atheist at 12 years of age.

I find it unusual that someone would read the bible 12 times in 40 years. Is it the same bible she read? I have a bible left here in this house by my late grandmother. I have actually tried to read the book a few times over. But, I end up giving up and putting it away to gather dust.

Re: the criticism of people who google bible versus to discredit the bible, I do that quite a lot. I also use google to discredit the koran. And I might well do the same for other religious texts. But, I don't do that often as I find it as helpful as yelling at the tv when my sports team is losing.

I've often wondered why some bigoted people use the term "autistic"
in order to insult someone's intelligence—many autistic people score
average to above-average IQ; compared to the general public, more
autistic people score in the gifted range of IQ = 140+.

Research by evolutionary biologist Bernard Crespi actually suggests
that autism is a “disorder of high intelligence” as a number of recent

autism overlap broadly with alleles for high intelligence.

You can always spot a bullshit artist on Christian history by whether they've read Acts and comprehended it.

Written between 40AD and 60AD, it is the earliest and most historical surviving account of that period, begun even before Christians were called Christians. Acts predates all the gospels.

All people training to be clerics discuss and debate Acts and have done for nearly 2000 years.

It speaks frankly and openly about the rift between the Jerusalem Assembly and Paul, Paul's heresies and his eventual split with the Jerusalem Assembly.

It's clear that Jesus was only a man and a Jew with a message for Jews. Paul, who never met Jesus, then deified him as a god-man with a completely different message - All clerics, no matter what the denomination, agree with this.

It is Pauline thought that dominates the gospels and Christianity, not Jesus in the way it is Plato's dialogues that control the person of Socrates.

In this religious gimmick, which was safely unverifiable in his absence, we have the Christian notion that knowledge or awareness of Cosmic Truth is esoteric. And that it is unavailable to those who do not believe, or have not performed some ritual.

With Paul, there was also a more urgent belief. He believed that the End Times were imminent - within his lifetime - and was driven to prepare as many as he could for the coming of the 'Kingdom of God' which would follow the end times (something Jesus did apparently preach).

In Jesus' case, he and his apostles wanted to prepare Israel (as in those who wrestle with El - Yahweh) by upending Judaean society (first shall be last, rich shall be poor) and bringing people back to zealously following the Torah.

Paul, for his part, (Paul was a Hellenised Jew) found, in the Hellenised world he lived in, that Judaising Hellenes wasn't viable, so settled on a Judaic heresy - that Jesus himself was not just a man but was divine and that belief in this alone was enough to save the believer from the wrath of Yahweh at the end times - so no time to learn, let alone need to follow, the Torah.

What an awesome read. Esp re autism which is 💯 fact!

I have to disagree with you about atheism. Unlike you (and more importantly unlike our very confused Meister Bwian who lives online and only knows what he’s googled)....I am no atheist. I am no agnostic either. I am a Christian. Those who know me in real time can attest to this. I live to serve and help out where I can. I save as much money as possible so that I can have more to help those around me. Charity begins at home. That means family and extended family and I’ll be honest here ... thanks to Covid19 and the terrible lockdowns my neighbours are my family too.

There’s a lot to be said for sparking positive energy around you.

Let’s bring this back to my online persona Lisa Jones. What I love about Lisa Jones is that the persona can help me take a complete break. I guess the persona also gives me a chance to contemplate what my life would have been like had I chosen another path. One which involved total full time dedication to God as a Missionary. Or a Minister’s wife. Most of my friends from Uni are Missionaries or Ministers or Minister’s wives. The reminder (not many) chose a life of total dedication to their chosen career path. They never married and never had children. They felt comfortable in climbing a corporate ladder instead and that path drew me in also. It was through that corporate pathway I met a much older lawyer who later became my 1st husband. During that short lived marriage I was never given the right to choose motherhood. It was decided for me by this much older man who became nothing more than a very abusive and fearful demon in my life.

I don’t regret motherhood. I never have. Why? It was in becoming a mother (against my own will mind you) ... that I discovered true love and I found my true vocation in life. You have no idea how giving birth can make your eyes see God who is the ultimate giver of life ... in a different light. Of course this brings me to today....Easter Sunday - the day our Heavenly Father God raised His Son Jesus Christ from the dead.

And the wonderful thing is this - Jesus was seen alive by many after His resurrection. Many people.

Even though today isn’t the real day ... many Christians have reclaimed the date and ascribed it with its true significance. So today our household will be celebrating the fact that Jesus Christ rose from the dead.

The BBQ Webber is on. Soon the beautiful aroma of my slow roasting marinaded lamb will overtake all the neighbouring back yards.

And Meister Bwian will once again spend his Sunday super glued to his computer arguing total googled rubbish in his vain attempt to prove the inevitable tragic reality that he knows SFA about a God he doesn’t even believe in.

Could someone else please keep the lonely and miserable Meister Bwian company for me? Think of it as a child minding session.

Some hand over notes which will help any child minder : Meister Bwian will spit his dummy IF/WHEN he thinks he’s googled something his feeble mind has determined might be relevant and convincing to his otherwise ignorant brain. The dummy spit will occur the second you tear his helpless uninformed and out of context googled posts down so be sure to plug that dummy straight back in his uninformed mouth!

Do not fret ... I’ll be back online tonight to quickly scan through Meister Bwian’s rubbish. And as per usual ...it will only take me a few moments to blast his googled inane rants into oblivion.

Cheers i

Good morning Bobby!!

Meister Bwian hasn’t read Acts. He’s once again only posting what he’s Googled. And what he’s Googled is absolute uninformed Roman Catholic Church/atheist driven dribble.

I’m allowing him time to dribble and spew his ridiculous bile. Once he’s finished I should be back online to post up a few more hard hitting facts in his godless face. No doubt after that he’ll spit the dummy once more and log off to do some more googling of more atheist/Roman Catholic Church sites. That’s ALL he has in life. That IS his life.

In the interim could you child mind him please Bobby? Occasionally throw a few toys at him. I found it keeps him occupied.

Cheers

Cheers

Yep, you haven't read Acts.

What you have is a villager's knowledge of Christianity that is taught to children.

Up for AusGeoff:

Cheers

You're a Christian, what is your take on James' confrontation with Paul?

I am not a theologian so my thoughts are from someone unqualified but you can start here:

Most Bible scholars pit the apostles James and Paul against one another, claiming that the two stood on opposite sides of a debate over faith and works. But were the two followers of Jesus really at odds? Reviewing the origins of that idea is a critical first step toward answering the question.

You should start there.

When you've read it, ask yourself the question: if James and Paul were united on religious matters how is it that James (a Jew 'zealous for the law') insisted on new followers becoming Jews first and following the Torah before being accepted by the Jerusalem assembly, while Paul preached the end of the Torah and absolution from following Mosaic Law.

As with all great works of fiction, it's up to you to use your imagination.

You can interpret the stories however you like, and find your own personal meaning in them.

There's no right or wrong to be understood.

Just read, and enjoy.

I've read the Bible twice, and it's a cracking read - as are many Stephen King novels.

I have read numerous books on the historicity of Christianity, I have read the New Testament. Given Jesus wrote nothing, the jousting between James, the Jerusalem Assembly and Paul, it's clear that there are two distinct characterisations of 'Jesus'

There's Jesus of those who knew him and were his apostles - a devout Jew and zealous for the Torah and there's Paul's version which he claimed was given to him by a vision of Jesus after his death. Paul's Jesus requires only belief that he is the Christ and observance of the Torah is abolished - including circumcision and all dietary laws.

The two versions are irreconcilable.

No. It's a Protestant's act to take 'Political' meaning from the Bible as it is a Catholics act to take 'Artistic' meaning from the Bible.

Meister Ecstasy tablet - the 'monotheisms' in their 'small print' are just unimportant masturbations for people to feel intellectual about.

Also, when people like Bobby or Lisa go on about being 'Christian', in essence they are not. They are both merely 'fans' of Christianity. No more than just fans in the grandstands cheering their Clergy on in their 'clergy's' Church or Holy Place.

The force behind Protestantism is that the individual finds communion with god directly - i.e. not through a cleric.

This issue was one of the reasons that led to Charles I (as the Supreme Governor of the Church of England) being executed - one of his mistakes being he tried to enforce a standard book of prayer on the Scottish Presbyterian church and in doing so acted as a meddling cleric.

That part just reminded me of when I went to a non denominational church to do bible studies some 30 years ago…. Even the speaker was taken back by some of those permissible killing scenarios … like eeeww that doesn’t sound like an all loving God.

Well then I wondered… since God can’t physically write it down … except for voices in a person’s head… maybe some had misunderstood the intent and worded it wrong?

I mean… to err is to be human… etc

Still I have liked some of the nice comforting advice I got from the bible at times throughout life when I felt I couldn’t get comfort any other way….

But that part “there’s nothing new under the sun” is lacking imagination or creativity.

Anyway…. Things change… Easter is about a bunny and chocolate now, and Christmas is about roast turkey, puddings, pine trees done up and store bought presents wrapped in pretty paper like good little consumerists.

Leaders of nations, like Moses - speaking for 'God" - who perceived enemies on all sides, tend to authorize genocide as a means of "defence".

And like the US, as world policeman, virtually crucifying Assange for revealing US "defensive" crimes

Yes, as people of all creeds do, out of the relevant sections of their respective "holy books".

I have not seen where the US government actually claimed to be the "World's Policeman." I think that is journalism. The US pursues its interests.
It would have been nice if Assange was as concerned about the "crimes" of Russia and China while he was spying on the US, but that would have been too complicated considering the language barriers, and Assange was only interested in the US and its allies because he had been indoctrinated with Leftist propaganda by his parents. They hated the US.

As the Middle-East started to use stationary Farming for food production. So to did the rise in raidings of other people's stocks when another tribe's crops failed. With the rise in violence to attain food from others grew, so too did a sense of 'morality' codes in Paganisms grow to try and curb such violence.
In time, small 'militias' were formed to take from weaker tribes - basically 'farming' the farmers. Thus began the curse of early civilisation.

Later, with full military actions incorporated to 'conquer' for food and resources. Pagan stories were formed into the world's first Monotheism called (in Greek) Zoroastrianism.
The first Moral Code for the poor and the victims of Military violence.

In time, latter Monotheisms arose in the world's most War ravaged region on the planet - again, Moral Codes to protect the casualties of Military aggression and power.

Of course, these Moral Codes would develop from the original Zoroastrianism (The true Monotheism of the Middle-East itself) - to be influenced by the three surrounding Old Worlds of Africa, Asia & Europe.

Judaism is themed upon the influence of Asia on the Middle-East. (Holy 'City')
Christianity is themed upon the influence of Europe on the Middle-East.
Mohommedism is themed upon the influence of Africa on the Middle-East (Holy 'Land')

This is why Religion (of the Mid-East) has an 'invisible' God.
Because while the Military Ruler sat upon his throne being the 'One' Power of Military might in the Mid-East.
The Religious were a 'People' who lacked a Powerful 'One' of their own with only things like hope, faith, etc - to keep them believing they will be saved from this Military curse upon them.

We do know, that this 'One God' of Religion will come, but not in the Middle-East.
It will be a Religious 'One' Ruler in South America ruling over little green South Americans who culturally loved socialising by 'warfare'.

So you have a Green Military Ruler ruling over little Brown Religious people in the Middle-East.
A Brown Religious Ruler (God) ruling over little Green Military people in South America.

Everything 'equalises' here on this finite sphere.

Well Bobby....I’m here NOW.

I WAS busy celebrating Easter with the family.

WAS busy celebrating Easter with the family.

I must say I did notice that the multi tosspot troll MeisterBwian (aka the ardent atheist of OzPol) chose to spend the entire Easter break online manically discussing Jesus Christ.

Such remarkable dedication. Even devout Christians would struggle to match his online manic marathon.
😂🤣😆

Looks like the family overdid it with spiking your drinks with benzos. Took you half a week to recover.

Oh look everyone ... like a moth to a flame.

What is a BENZO? Is it something Australians like you habitually use?

The actual BENZO ... what is it?

I was going to ask what it was too … then thrug my shoulders and quietly walk out the room before anyone knew who asked   ;D
But I got some clues in what Meister wrote… I figured sleeping pills or something…
Then I found this…

Benzodiazepines (or benzos) are a group of nervous system depressants commonly prescribed to treat stress, anxiety or insomnia. They are also known as 'minor tranquillisers' and sedatives (or sleeping pills).

According to what Larry said about the last car he (and hubby) had were BMWs not Mercedes. {Oops}

As to Larry spending all of Easter with his family—who has not seen the troll spend 14 hours online, till after 2.30am then log on again at 6.30 later that same morning. So much for his imaginary family.

There was also the night Larry told AiA at 12.30am “The movie has finished and I and the family are retiring.” At 1.00am Larry used that same line on me, retiring with the family. Larry was online until after 2.30am, back online at 6.30am—under 4 hours sleep. Obviously—pharmaceutical assistance is needed for these marathon sessions.

What bloody family?

I was sleep deprived after 4 hours sleep. I only needed another 90 minutes of sleep in a nap a few hours ago. All good now.

I think you are more likely pushing 80, more so than Lisa.

Drunk IS pushing 80 plus he’s abused his health for decades. That’s why his memory is gone. His dementia is getting worse each month too. His personality is on par with insanity... and he just isn’t able to recall what’s posted online. He confabulates ie makes up whatever he thinks is the case and posts that up and then yells at people about how he thinks he’s caught them out in some bloody lie 😂🤣😆

It’s all part n parcel of Drunk’s dementia. Never mind ...won’t be long before we’ll hear that he’s been taken offline and stuffed into some old age facility with max security in place. 😂🤣😆

Lisa, us middle-aged people between the age of 40 and 60 are having little excuses for our behaviour. If we mess up, we cannot use our age as a reason for what we say. I say 76 years is old enough to warrant someone the reasoning of age as an excuse for their mistakes.

I know what my age is. As I said, making 76 is better than not making it, like my Dad who died at age 71. That then leaves the question—WHY is Larry obsessing about my age and exaggerating it, other than he is “pushing” 80 or maybe 70 and, in his usual way psychologically projecting or transferring that fear to me. Projecting is a common way for Larry to avoid facing his fears and problems.

One of Larry’s problems is drug abuse/addiction, initially codeine—Mersyndol Night Strength—who knows what he is on by now?

Larry is not very good with his lies.

“My last car was a Mercedes” when he had told us earlier it was a BMW.

“The taste of blade steak makes me ill!” Blade steak is beef and tastes, richly, of beef. This and the hilarious bullshit about a fruitcake “I made all the time” but he didn’t know the ingredients of “Brandy and nuts” when the recipe called for port and contained no nuts.

I doubt Larry cooks, pre-prepared frozen meals heated in the microwave is more his “cooking” then making a dish from scratch. “Ah McCain, I farted again!”

His “twins” born full term six months after conception was a hilarious episode in the PA here—Larry was jealous of the attention Mellie got when she was genuinely pregnant.

Best not to believe Larry.
