My location in South Gippsland rates as Class 2, 7.1 to 7.5. |

Years ago, I went to Kilcoy for a wedding. The night before the wedding, we had a get-together at a property. The night sky was something spectacular. Due to all the light pollution, you will never get the kind of wondrous starry sights in town. A few years later, I was in a plane flying to Brisbane. We could see the lights of Brisbane a good 100km from the airport. I was amazed at the size of the city. But, going with the map of the light pollution, Rockhampton only has about 1/4th the area of town lighting that Brisbane has. Brisbane has about 30 times the population that has Rockhampton.

Pretty bad here in Rivervale, WA.
Class 7. And that was in 2015. Probably worse now. |
