Why do they allow effing Mexicans to enter the United States?
Don't they know that most of them are criminals? Round them up by the millions and send them back to Mexico. https://nypost.com/2023/04/29/5-dead-in-texas-shooting-armed-suspect-with-ar-15-at-large/ Migrant on migrant massacre: 5 dead after confronting still-at-large Texas gunman firing AR-15 as baby slept By Rich Calder and MaryAnn Martinez April 29, 2023 A drunk man allegedly slaughtered five people in their southeast Texas home after one of them asked him to stop shooting his rifle outside because a baby was trying to sleep, authorities said. Authorities identified the killer as a Mexican national, and his victims — who were all shot in the head, execution-style — as Hondurans. The bloodshed took place in Cleveland, Tex., just 45 miles outside Houston, police said. The suspect, Francisco Oropeza, 39, went on his shooting spree just before midnight Saturday, after one of the Mexican native’s alleged victims asked him to stop firing his rifle because a baby in the house was trying to sleep, San Jacinto County Sheriff Greg Capers said. A total of 10 people were inside the home at the time of the shooting. The victims ranged in age from 8 to 40 years old. Witnesses told authorities Oropeza, who lives next door to the victims, had been guzzling booze and shooting rounds in his backyard. His immigration status remained unknown Saturday. Police say Oropeza walked up to his neighbor’s home and began firing an AR-15-style .223 caliber rifle. |

More than 170 mass shootings in the US this year Authorities had received previous reports about the suspect firing a rifle in his yard. There have been at least 174 mass shootings in the US so far this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive. Both CNN and the archive define a “mass shooting” as a shooting that injured or killed four or more people, not including the shooter. “It’s not just at banks, schools, supermarkets, or churches where Americans fear becoming victims of a mass shooting,” Kris Brown, president of Brady, a gun violence prevention organization, said in a statement. UVALDE, TEXAS - JUNE 17: The Robb Elementary School sign is seen covered in flowers and gifts on June 17, 2022 in Uvalde, Texas. Committees have begun inviting testimony from law enforcement authorities, family members and witnesses regarding the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School which killed 19 children and two adults. Because of the quasi-judicial nature of the committee's investigation and pursuant to House, Section 12, witnesses will be examined in executive session. (Photo by Brandon Bell/Getty Images) The US in 2022 saw highest number of 'active shooter' casualties -- deaths or injuries -- of the past 5 years, FBI report finds “People in this country are being gunned down with assault weapons in their own home, and that is the horrifying reality we will continue to live under until our norms and policies change.” There were 10 people inside the home at the time of the shooting, according to the sheriff. The victims range in age from 8 to about 40, Capers told reporters early Saturday. The 8-year-old victim was pronounced dead at a hospital. Three people were taken to hospital, and two were evaluated at the scene and released, according to authorities. The victims’ identities are unknown. The sheriff said the victims are from Honduras, and some had arrived at the home from Houston in recent days. Capers identified the suspect as 38-year-old Francisco Oropeza. Authorities have a copy of the suspect’s consulate card and are looking for him. |

An AR-15-style rifle is a lightweight semi-automatic rifle but the Federal Assault Weapons Ban restricted sales. After the term 'modern sporting rifles' was coined by the US National Shooting Sports Foundation, it was quickly adopted and promoted as "America's rifle" by the National Rifle Association. It's the gun to defeat the Feds, cut the kids and ambush Americans.

It's obviously time to rewrite the US 2nd Amendment:
"An unregulated civilian population, being necessary to the security of a free State, the compulsory possession of at least three or more firearms by the people must be legally enforced". Something like this would decrease the carnage. Or would it? —I'm more than certain Panther would agree. ::) |

'Police departments that once deferred to SWAT teams wielding military-style rifles for active-shooter situations have in recent years started equipping the rank and file with AR-15s'.
This forces American citizens up into higher calibre, automatic sports equipment. This may be M2HB .50 heavy machine guns for community recreation. https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2014/10/15/gun-review-browning-m2hb-50-caliber/ |

ECT Explosive Cordite Therapy involves passing a carefully controlled gun recoil through the brain. ECT attracts very mixed responses – its supporters say that it is beneficial and lifesaving, while its critics say that it is invasive and unnecessary.
Modern ECT is a safe procedure, which is used to treat the most severe forms of depression (including psychotic depression) and severe manic symptoms, when the situation is thought to be life-threatening or after all other treatment options have failed. ECT can reduce severe depressive symptoms more effectively than other treatments. |

If we had the rate of mass shootings in Australia the same as what we see in America, there would be one mass shooting in Australia every 9 days. And that would be unacceptable. But, if the USA had the same rate of mass shootings as Australia has had in the last 27 years, there would be 2 shootings per year in the USA. And that would be unacceptable. The only effort Americans would likely try to avoid future mass shootings is to ban the airplay of songs like Jon Secada's "Just Another Day", to prevent hurt feelings. |

'the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed'.
They aren't serious about their own rights or the law wouldn't be altered to infringe their holy gun powers. They knew that taking guns to the Capitol invasion would get jail-time. It could be said that attacking Congress that day was exactly what the 2nd Amendment provided for. But it failed them and all that remains is to hand in the 500million weapons, put hand on heart and join civilisation. |

Well, of course it's perfectly acceptable to be "indignant" about the number of firearm deaths and mass killings happening every week across America. Indignant, adj: —feeling or showing anger because of something unjust or unworthy. If you don't feel angry about all those needless gun deaths, then you really need to reappraise your obviously indifferent moral and ethical beliefs. Everybody should be angry. And the issue of vehemently opposing the lax firearms laws in America has nothing to do with complainants' "self-righteousness" —it also has nothing to do with one feeling morally superior to others. In actuality, opposition to those outdated, negligent laws is the sign of a morally right or justifiable standpoint. —In fact, your patronising little comment better represents someone's self-righteousness—more so than any sort of meaningful thought processes. Tsk, tsk. |

Until relatively recently, Dutch farming prowess was hailed as one of the wonders of the global economy. In 2017, a National Geographic article headlined “This tiny country feeds the world” encapsulated a sense of national pride at the Netherlands’ status as the second-biggest exporter of agricultural products by value behind the United States.
These days, Dutch farmers are in the headlines for less upbeat reasons. As the climate emergency and a related biodiversity crisis belatedly take centre stage in policymaking, the prime minister, Mark Rutte, has committed to halving the country’s overall nitrogen emissions by 2030. A large proportion of these are generated by the manure and urine produced by more than 100m cattle, pigs and chickens. To reach the target, and protect biodiversity in the polluted countryside, the government has announced plans to reduce livestock numbers by a third. |

DeLaney, 18, was struck in the chest and taken to a Texarkana hospital, where he remained in intensive care in a stable condition. "But we think it's important to note that he has a number of serious injuries, as would be expected with this type of trauma. He has made slight improvements daily but still has significant injuries and complications to overcome." Police, in a post on the Texarkana department's Facebook page, said they received several calls about shots fired in the neighbourhood west of the field. Officers found several spent shell casings in the front yard of a residence. Police said a disturbance ended with two men shooting at each other in front of the house. Yes. A nationwide review conducted by ABC News in May 2020 identified at least 54 criminal cases where Trump was invoked in direct connection with violent acts, threats of violence or allegations of assault. These 54 cases are remarkable in that a link to Trump is captured in court documents and police statements, under the penalty of perjury or contempt. These links are not speculative—they are documented in official records. And in the majority of cases identified by ABC News, it was perpetrators themselves who invoked the president in connection with their case, not anyone else. Federal law enforcement authorities have said that although Trump has offered public denunciations of violence, his statements have been inconsistent and his style could inspire violence-prone individuals to take action against minorities or others they perceive to be against the president's agenda. —Hopefully Trump will have a few thoughts about this over the next 30 years wearing an orange jump suit? ;D |

Maybe surprisingly, this is correct... WILDLIFE RESTORATION (PITTMAN-ROBERTSON ACT). The excise tax is set by law at 11% of the wholesale price for long guns and ammunition and 10% for handguns. It is paid by manufacturers, producers, and importers and applies to all commercial sales and imports, whether their purpose is hunting, sport shooting, or personal defense. This tax is handled by the Department of the Treasury, which turns the funds over to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) for apportionment to the states. But... and that's a big but... logically of course this has no bearing whatsoever on the "rights" supposedly granted by the 2nd Amendment, nor does it in any way redress the ludicrously massive numbers of firearms owned in the US (120 guns for every 100 Americans) or the equally massive numbers of unnecessary firearms deaths and huge cost to society. In an average year, gun violence in America kills 40,000 people, wounds twice as many, and has an economic consequence to the nation of $557 billion. This annual figure dwarfs the guns and ammunition tax—over the 76 years since its inception—at only $7 billion or $92 million a year. Which means, in effect, that the alleged national parks benefits put forward by the firearms manufacturers and owners is merely a publicity smoke screen. Well Brian of the Australian (Boutique-Gay) Defence Force wants to Draft (Enslave) Australian Citizens and give them GUNS to go fight his battles for him.
American Citizens are just more eager and patriotic. ;) |

We can't have illegals with illegal guns, only legals should be illegal. Congress is illegal and the 2nd Amend makes it legal to shoot-up the swamp rat vote-stealers. 24/7.

No no, I believe your constitution permits the right to bear arms, correct? It's a right so sacred and holy, it is believed to have been granted by Jesus Himself. So I'm curious. Where would a gun owner's dual citizenship come into play? Are you seeking to deny a fellow soul's God-given rights? So unfair. What right will you seek to deny next? His parental rights? His right to identify as male? His right to vote Trump? Christians aren't perfect, Mort, just forgiven. You? |

We were warned this would happen and the media and corrupt government pretend the shooter was a Mexican, White Supremist Nazi.

You're getting your mass shootings mixed up, morty. Mauricio Garcia is the guy who shot up the mall in Allen, Texas. "Reports that Garcia was wearing a patch that read "RWDS" - which reportedly stands for "Right Wing Death Squad" - have led to significant discussion and speculation about his motivation." He's a right-wing extremist - just like you. Now, this thread is about a shooting in someone's yard near Houston. Do you even know what day it is, dear? |

Take the gun out of the equation and nobody gets shot. Everyone goes home alive. The person is going to be there, there is nothing can be done about that. The gun on the other hand is optional. It isn't about blame it is about solutions. No gun = no mass shooting 100% of the time. |

With 350 million people 0.5% is enough to make a difference in many areas. The more relevant question would be why are American politicians so corrupt. The number of nuts and paranoid people will exist irrespective. The problem is the lack of will to solve the issue and that lack of will is directly related to political donations. |

I know, right? One of Aquascoot's arguments was just that: America has enough people left alive to cope. Sure, guns might take out a few, but that's just a drop in the bucket. There's still plenty of people and livestock left to cope. Culling a few chodes via a jolly mass shooting is no different to slaughtering the odd pig or turkey. The important thing is to preserve the arms industry. That's what makes America great. Not agriculture or pharmaceuticals or patents or education, no. Food and drug companies kill. Knowledge is dangerous. But weapons preserve what's great about America: DEATH. |

Bombs don't set themselves off either, neither do Tanks, canons or rocket launchers. I am sure that you think you made a point? There is no record of a rocket launcher attack against a school not because nobody would do it but because the people who would do it do not have a rocket launcher. They have to resort to their easily accessed republican party sponsored AR15 rifles. |

Title: Re: Texas mass shooting Post by AusGeoff on May 12th, 2023 at 1:17am LOL... or not? This interminable debate is likely to continue well into the 22nd century! On the one hand we have the paranoid, psychopathic, American gung-ho, wannabe cowboys who're more than happy to see thousands of people, including children, killed or maimed each and every year by firearms. On the other, we have the horrendous statistics of US firearm deaths—and the rational, compassionate, prudent individuals who demand a rewriting of the ambiguous 2nd Amendment together with a firearms amnesty that would see many of the 433.9 million guns taken off US streets and out of homes. I can only reiterate that I'm very happy to be living in Australia, a country with sensible firearms laws, zero mass shootings, and where one's ability to visit a shopping mall is not overshadowed by the very real risk of being shot by some insane defender of the Second. >:( |
