The ABC has agreed to re-cut a controversial episode of the kids show Bluey following pressure from viewers.

The beloved animated series about a family of dogs landed in hot water with fans last month over a 'fat shaming' scene.

And the offending moment, only seconds long, has now been altered by the show's producers, Ludo Studios, with the support of the national broadcaster reports TV Blackbox.

The controversy centred around the episode Exercise, in which Bluey's dad, Bandit decided he needed to get fit, after complaining about his expanding stomach.

Some parents were left disappointed by what they saw  as 'toxic' messaging.

Critics of the scene said it created anxiety over body image rather than the health benefits of exercise.

Meanwhile, an ABC spokesperson said: 'The new version provides families with the opportunity to manage important conversations in their own way.

'As the home of Bluey, the ABC supports the decision to re-edit the program and we have updated the episode on our platforms.'

What i know is that ischaemic heart disease is the greatest killer in the Australia. I also know that not all people who suffer from ischaemic heart disease are obese and that all obese people do not suffer from ischaemic heart disease.

Such simplistic attempts at definitions lead the way towards prejudice. This is what the fight against body shaming is about.

Well that and the deliberate attempt to stop young people starving themselves to death.

Being obese, and I can talk from experience, you are very likely to develop diabetes. Diabetes compounds your difficulties to lose the weight, and you end up gaining more weight because you cannot metabolise the glucose properly. Over time, you run a much higher risk of having a heart attack, or suffering the symptoms of heart disease.

It is difficult to sell much to people who are obese that hide in their homes because they are embarrassed about being out in public.

They are mostly the very rich 'self indulgent' nations like Bahrain, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bhutan and some Caribbean nations like Bermuda which is the most obese.
