Title: Jury finds Trump liable for sexual abuse ... Post by greggerypeccary on May 10th, 2023 at 7:36am ... orders him to pay $7.4m New York | A jury has found Donald Trump liable for sexually abusing advice columnist E. Jean Carroll in 1996, awarding her $US5 million ($7.4 million) in a judgment that could haunt the former president as he campaigns to regain the White House. |

Post by Bobby. on May 10th, 2023 at 7:43am Liar wins court case: How can she say that Trump raped her but the jury says NO - he sexually assaulted her. Either she is lying or not. The jury was saying that she lied but still awarded her US$5 million. |

And once AGAIN you misinterpret news reports that are correct, and understood as such by most other commentators here. How do you mage this so often? E. Jean Carroll has NEVER been accused of lying—by anyone other than the long-acknowledged, inveterate liar Donald Trump. The jury did NOT say in any shape or form that Carroll was lying and/or had lied at any time in her testimony, in awarding her $5 million in damages for her battery (and defamation) claims. Asked on its verdict sheet whether Carroll had proven “by a preponderance of the evidence” that “Mr. Trump raped Ms. Carroll,” the nine-person jury checked the box that said “no.” Asked whether Carroll had proven “by a preponderance of the evidence” that “Mr. Trump sexually abused Ms. Carroll,” the jury checked the box that said “yes.” Both allegations were elements of Carroll’s battery claim. —I note that the failed former president didn't even have the courage to attend the court to defend the claims against him. I'm guessing this was typical of the cowardice that enabled him to dodge the draft FIVE times—once for purported bone spurs, and four times for college. The bogus "diagnosis" was set up by podiatrist, Dr. Larry Braunstein, as a favour to Trump's father Fred, who rented him practice rooms, and who took care of a lot of "little problems" for Larry. Which is why Senator Tammy Duckworth, a Purple Heart recipient, once called him "Cadet Bone Spurs." |
