Title: Global protests against Sweden Koran burning
Post by Laugh till you cry on Jul 2nd, 2023 at 12:40pm
Sweden does not have a good reputation on human rights internationally, especially after the Julian Assange bogus criminal charges.

Now the Islamic world is up in arms over a Koran burning in Sweden.

Swedes now need to be careful in overseas travel and Swedish products are being boycotted because of the perceived prejudice in the people and government of Sweden.

Will white privilege save Sweden?

Swedish police had granted him a permit in line with free-speech protections, but authorities later said

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will hold an extraordinary meeting in Saudi city of Jeddah on Sunday over a Quran-burning demonstration in Sweden, Turkey’s state-run Anadolu News Agency reported on Friday.

The executive committee of the 57-member organization of Muslim countries will discuss what measures can be taken over the attack on the holy scripture, Anadolu reported, citing diplomatic sources. The meeting was called by Saudi Arabia, which currently holds the rotating OIC presidency, the report said.

The meeting comes as protests continue in Iraq and Iran against Sweden, where the government tried to contain outrage by expressing regret and rejection of the act while defending freedom of speech.

Swedish police have launched an investigation into the protest, according to Swedish news outlets. On Wednesday a protester of Iraqi descent, Salwan Momika, burned a copy of the holy book outside of a mosque in the Swedish capital Stockholm. The incident, which took place during the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha, drew strong reactions from the Muslim world. Protesters stormed the Swedish Embassy in Iraq as Jordan and Morocco recalled their ambassadors to Stockholm.

Momika is being investigated by the Swedish police for two hate crimes and a general fire ban. Iraq has asked for his extradition.

Swedish authorities rejected a series of requests to hold similar protests after another Quran-burning demonstration near the Turkish Embassy in the Swedish capital in January, but a court in Stockholm overruled the police, allowing this week's protest in line with Swedish laws on freedom of assembly. The protests have angered NATO member Turkey, which is dragging its feet on ratifying the Nordic nation’s bid to join the transatlantic alliance.

Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan condemned the court ruling after Wednesday’s protest.

Sweden’s Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson declined to speculate on the incident’s possible impact on negotiations between his country and Turkey, adding that the protest was “legal, but not appropriate.”

Echoing a similar tone, US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said Thursday that he wouldn’t comment on whether the protest would impact the NATO talks. "I will say that we do condemn it; we’re deeply concerned by the act,” Miller told reporters. “We also believe that issuing the permit for this demonstration supports freedom of expression and is not an endorsement of the demonstration’s actions,” he added.

Washington has been pressing Ankara to ratify Sweden’s membership before the alliance’s annual summit on July 11-12 in Lithuania. Turkish, Swedish and NATO officials are scheduled to hold a new round of meeting next Thursday as part of ongoing talks aiming to convince Turkey to drop its objections.

So, an Iraqi (or atleast someone of Iraqi descent) burns a copy of the Koran in Sweden. Somehow, it is Sweden's fault? Sweden, one of the most liberal countries in the world, would have held that protester accountable, had it not been his freedom of speech.

Sounds much like how India holds Australia responsible whenever an Indian gets attacked in Australia... even if the perpetrator is also Indian. But, they go really quite when vehicular manslaughter by an Indian against an Australian takes place.

Are you talking to me?

Sweden filed bogus rape charges against Julian Assange and corruptly conspired with the UK government to cause Assange to be virtually imprisoned and then actually for many years.

The Swedes are no exemplars of human rights.

Are you talking to me, you racist islamophobe?

Sweden didn't hesitate to start a bogus rape charge against Assange and then drop it after their objective to expose Assange to prosecution by the USA was achieved.

The Swedish people are just as guilty as their prosecutors, judges, and politicians for the crimes committed in their name.

Most countries around the world do what the Yanks tell them - not ask them -
including Australia.
We are buying 8 submarines costing $5 billion each and
we'll be paying $45 billion each.

Bobby has cracked it.

Sweden's punishment should be that they are compelled to buy 8 US submarines for $45 billion each.

That will teach them to suppress extremist radicals.

I was responding to the article. Meanwhile, places like Malmo have plenty of Middle Eastern people causing disproportionately high rates of violence. But, are the Middle Easterners in Iraq and other places moderating themselves in solidarity to the native Swedes who put up with this violence from refugees?

Swedes are such pussies when it comes to dealing with migrant crime, parts of Swedish cities are no-go areas because of migrants living their old ways.

I cannot imagine a white person in the Middle East doing something innocuous as getting her students to name the classroom teddy bear "Muhammad" to be as bad as the murder, rapes, and terrorism that Europeans experience from Middle Easterners. Yet, it is not the Europeans rioting in Europe.

That's what happens in countries other than Australia when people are murdered, shot dead by police without cause.

Australians have had no balls since the Eureka Stockade.

The empire of hurt feelings
Islamic countries are trying to force the West to respect Muslims’ ‘feelings’. We must resist this therapeutic imperialism.

https://www.spiked-online.com/2023/07/03/the-empire-of-hurt-feelings/

Of course, Sweden helped to make this rod for its back. In fact, countries across Europe, by institutionalising the profoundly illiberal idea that criticism of Islam is a species of bigotry, left themselves open to attack by this empire of hurt feelings. Often, Muslim nations exploit the unreason and unfreedom of the West itself to drive home their insistence that ‘blasphemy’ against Islam be curtailed as a crime. From the Danish cartoons controversy of 2005 to the Charlie Hebdo bloodbath of 2015 to the various instances of Koran-burning in Sweden over the past year, it is often Western liberals who first wring their hands over ‘insults’ against Islam, before Islamist nations chime in a little later and say: ‘Yes, that is ungodly. Crush it.’ Hence why so many Muslim leaders have used the woke language of ‘Islamophobia’ and ‘hurt feelings’ to reprimand the Swedes – they’re exploiting the West’s own ideologies to try to further wound the West. Their empire of hurt feelings gains its power from our own yellow-bellied fear of hurting certain people’s feelings.

Sweden, for a while, was one of the worst offenders on this front. It was extraordinarily reluctant to discuss the social problems caused by an ideology of multiculturalism that encouraged ethnic and religious groups to do their own ‘equally valid’ thing rather than seeking to integrate them into Swedish society. The Swedish elites, and others, refused to be honest about the impact such top-down relativism was having on this once widely admired social democracy. Even as gang crime, largely Muslim riots and unheard-of forms of violence became a serious problem in Sweden – in 2020 alone there were 200 explosions and 360 shootings – European observers said: ‘Everything’s fine in Sweden.’ It was a lie. Then Swedish PM Magdalena Andersson tried to break the cowardly impasse last year when she said we now have ‘parallel societies in Sweden’ and that integration has been ‘too poor, at the same time as we have experienced very substantial levels of immigration’. Whether her intervention was too little, too late, remains to be seen.

Bugger  the therapeutic caliphate that imagines it has the right to force all of us, wherever we live, to love Islam.

BRUSSELS, Oct 16 (Reuters) - Two Swedish nationals were shot to death and a third person was wounded in central Brussels on Monday night, and a man who identified himself as a member of the Islamic State claimed responsibility in a video posted online.

The likely motive for the attack was the Swedish nationality of the victims, the prosecutor said.

Sweden in August raised its terror alert to the second-highest level, warning of an increase in threats against Swedish interests abroad, after Koran burnings and other acts in Sweden against Islam's holiest text outraged Muslims and triggered threats from jihadists.

The suspected assailant, calling himself Abdesalem Al Guilani, claimed in a video on social media that he was a fighter for Allah. The federal prosecutor said the third victim, who was wounded but whose condition was not in life-threatening, was a taxi driver.

One Belgium newspaper said a witness said the shooter shouted "Allahu Akbar" before the shots were fired.

According to a media transcript of the video message recorded by the self-declared perpetrator, he said:

"Islamic greeting Allahu Akbar. My name is Abdesalem Al Guilani and I am a fighter for Allah. I am from the Islamic State. We love who loves us and we hate who hates us. We live for our religion and we die for our religion. Alhamdulah. Your brother took revenge in the name of Muslims. I have killed 3 Swedes so far Al hamdoulelah. 3 Swedish, yes. Those to whom I have done something wrong, may they forgive me. And I forgive everyone. Salam Aleykoum."
