Title: Trump / Imran Khan Post by Gordon on Aug 13th, 2023 at 6:55pm
I guess this is how Biden deals with political adversaries now.
The U.S. State Department encouraged the Pakistani government in a March 7, 2022, meeting to remove Imran Khan as prime minister over his neutrality on the Russian invasion of Ukraine, according to a classified Pakistani government document obtained by The Intercept. His imprisonment has been widely viewed within Pakistan, including among many critics of his government, as an attempt by the military to stop his party from contesting upcoming elections. Polls show that were he allowed to participate in the vote, Khan would likely win. https://theintercept.com/2023/08/09/imran-khan-pakistan-cypher-ukraine-russia/ |

Would you care to offer your thoughts and prayers to the good people of Pakistan, dear boy? I think that's the issue Gordon's lamenting here: poor old Pakistani democracy. Would you care to comment? |

Pakis always get in the way of it. Like you - always getting in the way of anything civilised and sensible. Islam, innit. |

Is it? You've clearly forgotten Islam lately, old boy, but do you know? Most pundits are putting the military behind the current Pakistani shenanigans. What role does Islam have in this? Over to you. |

I guess this is how Trump deals with political adversaries now. Rudi encouraged the FBI in a March 7, 2022, meeting to remove Congress, judges, foreigners, people with no guns, hostile media and politics. |

This is likely true only because the USA has a long history of removing democratically elected leaders.
Shall we make a list? Who is in? I'll start: 1) 1953 Iranian coup d'état |

Oh, old boy, you are naughty. You never raised religion when it came to defending your Dear Leader's deals with the Saudis, now did you? Half a bil worth of American bombs, turning the other cheek to head-hacking and oh - Two bil in cash for Jared, just for being the big fella's son in law. With an additional 25 mil finder's fee - you know, for "finding" his own investment fund. Cunning, no? Yes, when it comes to Muselmen behaving badly, well - it's complicated. The Labians? Eee. The Pakis? Ooo. The Saudis? Er... It is a jolly world, no? ![]() |

Ahhh so the USA is at it again! Interfering and controlling everything from behind the scenes. Biden is making sure THAT long-standing tradition continues. Biden is such a traditional Zionist old guy. 😐 |

That's Uncle's job, dear. As the old boy says, colonialism ended far too soon. From the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq to his disdain for - ahem - Labia, the old boy believes in full and total Western control. Just not the Saudis, for some reason. He's rather shy about them, but do you know? The article in the OP makes no reference to any Biden statements or policy pronouncements, just meetings with the State Department making idle threats: Quote:
Imran Khan is appealing to Pakistani populism and popular sentiments for self determination. Quote:
This works well with the Pakistani base. It is, however, a complete anathema to every bone in the old boy's corpse. Their slaves? He says. Of course they're our slaves. They're tinted. The old boy wants to have it both ways - a jolly chuckle over Biden's alleged subcontinental meddling and a right old hissy over Muselmen behaving badly. In truth, there was no Biden policy to remove Imran Khan as PM, and there is no "Islam" in the generals' dirty politics. You can blame Biden and Islam all you like. The old boy seems to have forgotten who he blames. You? |

Title: Re: Trump / Imran Khan Post by AusGeoff on Aug 15th, 2023 at 3:03am Why does the topic header mention Trump? It's nothing to do with him—considering this little contretemps occurred under Biden's watch. In April 2021, it was Joe Biden who appointed Donald Lu to be the Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, and who met with Asad Majeed Khan, Pakistan’s ambassador to the US in March 2022. |
