Excellent work! Note that this is a local initiative and not something thought up by the urban activists who feel a 'voice' is what these kids need.

Buggar me!  You got some Aboriginal kids off their arses to do what people have been doing for years/decades?  Next thing you know you'll imbue them with a work ethic and the desire to prosper from the fruits of their labours... maybe even learn about the land from the white man's ways, eh?

The Horror - THE HORROR!!

I harvest seeds every year from my gardens on the simple basis that local grown and acclimatised works better next time and next time around..... been doing it for decades ... got some tomatoes from compost already ..... the best and strongest that grow on their own....

Part of the problem with the Murray/Darling was the removal of so much saltbush ... go tell it to the dopey politicians with their get rich schemes for mates and government bodies selling off the water that falls from the skies even as snow .... Lake C won't make much difference ....

Now if you could get those kids to LEARN and grow up to study etc and become qualified in land management - you might stand a chance of getting them into saving the Murray/Darling.... now get cracking....

The left love Abos doing Abos stuff and don't want them to actually achieve anything that will help Abos thrive in a modern society because they want Abos to be their pet natives.

I'd much prefer to hear about an Abo teen doing a double degree in law and economics.

There are countless Aboriginal people doing Law/economics ... and other notable degrees. Countless. We, on the "left" not only acknowledge and encourage that, we would much rather is be disseminated as a face of Aboriginal Australia than the photos, memes and youtubes you notoriously put up every time the word Aboriginal is mentioned, Gordy.

The simple fact of the matter is that you do not respect the Aboriginal culture and respect Aboriginal people only when they have left their culture behind.

Meanwhile, i just respect them all along the way. And  you really can't understand that.

Are they all dilutees?  You know - lower entry requirements just to make it look good?

How Aboriginal are they?  Are there any Pascorigines amongst them?  Aboriginal Lites?

Aboriginal culture is doing a degree now?

Maybe you should join Cementhead Langton in lambasting the very culture in which she thrives so very well for so little real effort.  You'd fit right in, messra....

Well, do you also respect all white Europeans along the way, and their culture?

Your sycophantic virtue signalling is laughable. You respect all cultures all the way as long as you can remain totally ignorant of them.

Of all the stupid questions ...

You don't need to scratch very deeply to see that "white" European culture is heavily influenced and propelled by the cultures of other parts of the world.  It's one of it's great successes. It's not really all that "white".

As for respecting the culture, how many more museums and art galleries do you want? Are you seriously feeling underrepresented, fruitbat? So much so that you're threatened by the representaation of anything other?

Gordy, continuing to prove my point by cherry picking photos to misrepresent Aboriginal people. Utterly obliterating the hard worn achievements of so very many by relegating them to nothing in favour of dog-whistling prejudice.

What's in it for you, Gordy? Does swinging your kettle bell not make you feel superior enough?

It's not cherry picking when the university Proudly Exhibits its 'Aboriginal' students, and they all turn out to be mostly white apart from the tiny component of their left feet...

It's either a case of drop this stupidity entirely or carry on making a stupid mistake that will put many offside....

In order to get a scholarship you must be 'financially challenged' - bet none of those come from 'financially challenged' families.... how many come from the bush - out in real Aboland?  They sure don't look remotely hungry or deprived.

Tik, Tok.... the time is drawing near for the end of stupidity.....

messra and 'her' hatred of 'old white men' is right in the block-hole for cancers and heart trouble and a host of other things.... **rubs hands together in glee** ... Smith is headed for the insane asylum.... Aussie is becoming senile... pillperth needs to stay off the pills.... bring back Lefty to really make the fun .... we need a court jester...

Let's see if we can drag Billy Jack out of retirement....

.................friends, all thet hogwash o' all them white people in their fancy gas-guzzling 4WDs an' non-houso livin' stealin' from the black person his an' her right to a free ride is enough to put the old BJ hisself back in that hospital  .. the injustice of it all jest makes him sick there, Pilgrims.... can't see the ol' Duke o' Brisbane town ever gettin' over this one ....

When you hear about aborigines doing conservation initiatives to restore ecosystems, it is a good news story. But, it is not something that people for generations have not been doing.

I think Grappler has been a bit too harsh with his about-frickin'-time attitude against indigenous teenagers. I am all for land regeneration. And I do not care if aliens land on the planet and do their part to restore the land from being wasted. As long as someone does something to help.

Harsh?  You ain't seen nuthin' yet!!  You sure you've lived among them?

I said it would be a good thing if they could segue this into a career .. restoring places other than LC.... what more do you want?  Chances are at puberty they'll vanish down the same paths as their forebears, free pussy, free piss, free poverty for life - all for the taking - and nothing will come of it.  This would make a fine study ... get back to them individually in 5-10 years and see how they've gone...

White Man's Burden, innit - to follow through like that.... bit of honest Truthtelling, eh?  I do hope some of them get something in life out of this..... which is more than the do-gooders do... they just pat them on the heads and throw coins in the shark-infested waters to watch them dive for them....

You city slickers......  8-) ... any of them big cities with over 200 people are nothing but trouble....

Footnote:-  How many of them have or been offered scholarships for Aborigines at UNSW?  Dare one ask?  Nah - nah - those are for the middle class quasi-Aborigines in Town...... Teaspooners ..... one teaspoon and you're in!!  Just sign here... jeez - even the Aborigines reckon as many as 300,000 out of 880,000 are Not Genuine ... Pascorigines, you understand....

Years ago, people would joke about Russell Crowe's nationality, depending on his behaviour. "Australia's Russell Crowe won an Oscar" or "New Zealand's Russell Crowe is in trouble with the law".

People talking about indigenous Australians becoming doctors or lawyers all because they have some (or majority, in this case) caucasian ancestry is something that really underpins the argument about white supremacy. If the students graduating from academically gifted studies want to identify as indigenous because they have a great-grandfather/mother who was indigenous, then so be it.

Their problem - not something to be paraded and made a spectacle of to 'make a statement'  FFS.... oh, gee - I had a great-great grandmother blah-blah-blah - do I go and say I'm Jewish because I had a pair of great-greats who were?

NO!  There are rules.... for a reason.  I haven't lived the life, know next to nothing about the religion, and am not considered as such by any synagogue.

A school excursion type excursion for kids who are probably dodging school.

They've been using saltbush to restore degraded land for decades.
