Happen to have some Coopers stout and lamb shanks but no wine. Do have most of the stuff except Worcestershire, maybe teriyaki marinade will do?

Plenty recipes, e.g:

What a pathetic alcoholic you are.

Any alcohol into meat does not improve it beyond making it another 'alcoholic' novelty from and for the drunks.

Alcohol is a 'dehydrator' you fool.

I bet Dumbarse Drunk uses alcohol for just about everything. Dumbarse Drunk’s mind thinks of alcohol as his life’s marvellous miracle breakthrough.

Monk banned me from his Board because I just stated the obvious in regards to FreeDivers Topic in C&C.
"You've come to the right place for alcohol advice FD" so to speak.

Nothing worse than those barbies where there's always some tool pouring turgid VB vomit beer over the steaks.  ::)

Lamb shanks are no longer an "economy" meat product.
I checked an independent butcher and was horrified to
find them priced at  $19.99 per kg. Two shanks weigh
around 1kg, which makes them $9.95 each!

When I was a kid in the 1950s, our local corner shop
butcher used to give one to mum for no charge with
a leg of lamb, as they were sold super cheaply as dog
bones back in the day.

Now that all these fucking so-called "celebrity" chefs
are flogging them on TV, they're now the same price
as T-bone steak (on special at Coles or Woolworths).

It's not all celebrity chefs, thats what happens with all food. Cheap cuts become mainstay when the dearer cuts become to expensive. The more mainstay the more they cost as demand rises.
I recall chicken wings were almost given away at one stage,  now they're almost as expensive as chicken breast.

Anything the Australian Media/Entertainment Industry touches or appropriates as theirs - suddenly it becomes expensive and over-priced as if you would be dealing with the Health Industry in the USA.

This is the way of all Yobbo cultures. You pay more, but get less.

I've noticed recently that Woolworths is selling alleged
"chicken" drumsticks in 2-packs.

But their size, fibrous texture and stronger taste tells me
they're actually rooster (or cockerel) legs.  And should
be cheaper.

Highly unlikely. Roosters are culled as hatchlings. There is no money feeding them until they are big enough to eat.

I worked IT at a school for almost 18 years and used to go help staff at home when they had probs. Helping out the English teacher one weekend, she asked me "how do you get boys to read?" Answer was make it something they are interested in. Even my time in school the reading list was appallingly boring and of no interest.

My 6 year olds class and library are stocked with books they love to read. Not sure what materials they have for girl, but they have loads of stuff like Captain Underpants, Bad Guys, Tiny Timmy (Tim Cahill) Anh Do etc etc. which all the boys go nuts for.

Chickens raised for meat aren't typically used for egg production.  Meat farmers don't care if it's a hen or rooster

I dropped an audibly noticeable one in the house tonight. 6 year old boy laughed, wife and teenage daughter called me a pig. I explained, there is no possible way to keep the gas in. Sure I could go to a private place and purge, or I could let it out quietly like chicks do.

At least ensuring the accompanying noise is honest and serves as a warning, not like what sneaky girls do.

But what exactly is a fart? There are two ways of thinking of farts, or two concepts of farts. A fart is either a thing or an act. We fart farts. Let us begin with farts considered as things. What are the identity conditions of fart-things? Are they proper objects – reidentifiable particulars? Suppose someone emits a series of farts in rapid succession, like a staccato trumpet call. Is that many distinct farts? But in a nearby possible world in which the emission of gas was more legato with no breaks, would there only have been one long fart, with pulsations in volume (in both senses)? Is that legato fart the same fart as the series of staccato farts?

What about the origins of farts?

Chickens become sexually mature at 20 to 22 weeks.

This differs between breeds and the amount of
light that the chickens receive. Some chicken
breeds become sexually mature at 16 to 18 weeks.

Testosterone increases the density of muscle fibres
allowing muscles to increase in mass and strength.
In male chickens, testosterone results in tougher
meat, and in older roosters, the meat can be described
as "stringy".

Meat chickens are both male and female.     They're
slaughtered between 6 to 8 weeks, and there is no
differentiation in the meat. Layer chicken roosters and
"dual-purpose roosters" grow slower and are slaughtered
when older.

So it's perfectly legal for Coles and Woolworths to sell
older roosters as chicken.
