for 5 billion of investment to improve "cyber security"
get ready to live in a chinese surveillance state . Gates doesnt do anything that doesnt involve farming the customer and surveillance and manipulation. in 10 years time, your credit card wont work if you buy too much meat they will turn off your EV if you dont support the regime you will be required to present your genetic code for research into which drugs pharma deem mandatory. even typing this in 10 years will probably see aquascoot being surveilled scarey stuff |

The irony -
Microsoft - the greatest internet spies in the world - stealing nearly everyone's data - now in charge of security - WTF? Has Albo gone soft in the head? https://www.capitalbrief.com/briefing/microsoft-to-invest-5b-in-australian-digital-infrastructure-76333968-9995-4140-93d0-15d7dc1d2b73/ |

The internet rumor is that ever since Win95 in 1995
Microsoft has had a backdoor on everyone's computer which they also gave away to Govts to spy on anyone they wanted to. So - everything you ever did for 28 years has been recorded. |

Correct Bobby
People think that Bill gates just started up this Goliath in his garage They think that Larry page at Google just had a good search engine If you go back and check the history Neither Microsoft nor Google nor Facebook for that matter would exist without the incredible injection of funds from the intelligence community And the intelligence community running defense In order to take out any opposition startups The Twitter files revealed that the intelligence community sit on the board of these companies The intelligence community tell them who is to be promoted and who is to be de platformed Microsoft is totally in bed with the government in surveilling the population People probably remember the massive lawsuits between Microsoft and Google back in the 90s These all just stopped Went away The government Microsoft and Google made a deal to share intel and share the market There is zero difference between Microsoft and Huawei In terms of their relationship with government It's the same dynamic |

You do realise Bill Gates no longer has anything to do with the day to day running of Microsoft, don't you? He's not even on their Board of Directors anymore. aquascoot wrote on Oct 24th, 2023 at 5:22am:
I'm kinda hoping that's been happening for a while now after seeing the nonsense you post here on an almost daily basis, including this thread and especially in the Coronavirus section. :) |

Looks like aquascoot has that "mistresses and yachts" envy again like he's had going with Pfizer and their vaccines for several years now.
Pretty lame if you ask me. But, we are talking about aqua here. Enough said. |

It is the same with everything. In Australia a telecoms company cannot put a system online without giving the government all the encryption keys. |

I read somewhere that Bill Gates was forced to hand over the entire source code to the US Govt. for Win95 even though it was Microsoft intellectual property. |

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-10-24/anthony-albanese-in-washington-dc-microsoft-deal/103012802
Tech giant Microsoft will help Australia build a "cyber shield" to fend off global online threats under a plan to sink billions of dollars into securing and expanding the national digital economy. Key points: Anthony Albanese is in the US at the invitation of Joe Biden He joined Microsoft's president to announce the tech giant's $5 billion investment in Australia The company will work with Australia's online security agency on the cyber-shield project Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Microsoft president Brad Smith unveiled the plan at the Australian embassy in Washington, DC on the first day of the PM's official visit to the US. Microsoft says the project is part of its biggest investment in Australia in its 40-year history: a $5 billion plan to expand infrastructure and skills, with a focus on cloud technology and artificial intelligence. The company will work with the Australian Signals Directorate — the national agency responsible for cybersecurity and online warfare — to build the cyber shield, dubbed MACS (Microsoft-Australian Signals Directorate Cyber Shield). Without naming specific countries, Microsoft said it would have a focus on "defending against sophisticated nation-state cyber threats". Asked about the plan being aimed at countering the threat of China, Mr Albanese said it was "aimed at strengthening Australia". He said it was one of the first steps in the Australian Cyber Security Strategy, announced after last year's Optus and Medibank hack scandals and aimed at making Australia "the world’s most cyber-secure nation" by 2030. |
Title: Re: ALBO announces deal with microsoft. Post by Bobby. on Oct 24th, 2023 at 10:11am Computer security is a myth. I know for a fact that companies and Govts. that do secret work never have the computers they use connected to the internet. Security can never be guaranteed when there is any connection to the internet no matter how good any firewalls are supposed to be. |

Carl, Carl, Carl. Very few people can get next to Kevin07 for air travel and going O/S except one...Tony Abbot. That guy was never here! When overseas representing Australia ,the man was an utter embarrassment and part of the reason we looked like fu@#en idiots to the rest of the world. Shirtfront anyone? Turnball wasn't too bad, at least the man had some form of diplomacy and reasoning, but nearly as bad as Abbott was Morrison. Now, if anyone is the reason for Albanese being overseas it is that fool. Australian Farmers, Fisherman and Wine Growers and exporters are still recovering from that Man totally ruining a lot of overseas trade. I am no Labor no Liberalite anymore but Albanese has a lot of mending to do before we are anywhere near back to normal trade with our main partners. |

One of the projects I worked on was originally Microsoft NT based. Many of the people on the project (JORN) were Americans working for Lockheed Martin. They believed that Microsoft NT had a "backdoor" in it that allowed the US Government Agencies to access machines and also unlock machines that had been seized. Whether that is true or not I don't know. What is true is that our project moved over to Red Hat Linux, they customised it under licence to run the networks, both tactical (standalone and very closely administered) and restricted ( internet facing but again highly monitored. Most places I have worked over my recent years have had Windows based machines for the Internet side, but the servers and network gear are all Linux based |

I have known of systems where the software needed was loaded while connected to the internet to make it work - product registration - and afterwards all such computers had no connection at all to the internet. Groups of such computers were connected to a server but that server was not ever connected to the internet. The only input of other programs or data was via highly monitored USB sticks that had long passwords. Data could not be uploaded to the USB stick from the secure system. Without that, countries like China could steal IP. |

Here's a good trick.
The Microsoft operating system is like a sieve - full of security holes. Go to: http://www.grc.com click shields up, then shields up again, then check common ports. See if they are all in stealth mode? |

Title: Re: ALBO announces deal with microsoft. Post by Bobby. on Oct 25th, 2023 at 12:25pm
It's not fair.
People pay Microsoft for an operating system not a system to spy on themselves. An IT professional at work once said to me that every generation of Windows did more to spy on its users. Win7 wasn't too bad and then Win10 spied even more and then Win11 took it to a whole new level. You'd think that spying on people would be illegal - in the same way that you're not allowed to bug someone's phone - that is a serious criminal offence. How does Microsoft get away with it? Are they just too big and powerful to take to court? |
